Summary: It's time for The Shopkeeper's Daughter to get properly underway. Here we have act 2!
Warnings: Possibly some violence...

Overture
It’s market day in Aqures Ixen. People stream out of their homes and into the common areas, carrying all kinds of items, for bartering is just as popular on these days as buying things outright. Market days always bring with them a special kind of energy. Anything is possible on these days. One never knows what treasures one might find for sale. Except, of course, for Baltoro’s Blooms.

Zelda was waiting by the front entrance of the hospital. She made sure to note all the heroes at the meeting to see who would be here but she still wasn't sure who was coming.

Her hands fidgeted nervously with her pink dress. The nurses had insisted that he didn't want any visitors and she wasn't sure if she should try to press the matter alone.

Even though Kobato had been to the meeting, she still wasn't a hundred per cent sure of what exactly she could do to help. But never the less she found herself going to the hospital first to see who else is there and how she could manage to help them.

When she came across a person she had spoken to before she gave a small smile and walked on over. "Are you here for the same reason I am?"

She looked over at the girl and smiled softly. "Yes. The nurses are still insisting that he doesn't want to see anyone."

Zelda sighed, she agreed that heath was important but this person was just too stubborn.

"I see. So not even asking nicely would work?" She asked having some hope that maybe something could get to him. Being kind usually would help after all, right?

"It hasn't so far but there is no harm in trying again." She looked back at the nurses. Zelda could be very forceful when she wanted to but she didn't want to give the heroes a bad name.

She nodded, although she wasn't sure what exactly to say, but it didn't stop her from walking up to those nurses and talking to them and so far it doesn't look like it was going all that well.

"You don't understand, i-if we don't get what we need from them... There is a possibility that someone could die." Kobato said glancing down, even when the nurses were still insistent that he didn't want to see anyone and that only made the young girl want to cry more.

Zelda couldn't watch her friend strain herself so she stepped up to the nurses with a harsh stare. "Listen. We are going in."

She didn't wait for an answer and just walked past the nurses and towards the mans room. After watching the nurses movement through the main area she had a guess as to which wing of the hospital he was in.

Kobato couldn't help but be slightly surprised as she quickly followed, bowing to the nurses as she went past as her form of apology. It had been a good move she figured, but at the same time she wasn't sure if this would help them.

While she followed she couldn't help but look around, looking a little confused. "I've never actually been in a hospital before, so it's all new."

Zelda walked forward quickly, her stride showing that she had a purpose and final destination. "I've never been in a place like this either."

After checking the names on a few rooms she finally found the room in question. "Shall we?"

She couldn't help but feel a little odd being in the hospital, but she knew that they had a reason to be here, so she tried to look as determined as she could as she followed.

"Okay, we shall. Though um, how do you think we can convince him to talk?"

Zelda shrugged. "Lets start by asking."

When they walked into the room she noticed the man's eyes. He didn't look like he wanted to be here either. She faced the man, giving him a soft smile. "We need to ask you about what happened."

Gerad looked over at the two young women, one hand going to scratch at his close-shaven head. "Who the hell are you? I thought I said I didn't want no visitors." He stared at the intruders, getting visibly more uneasy by the second. "Where the hell are the nurses? Get out of here!

Kobato had followed in quietly, her hands placed lightly in front of her robes as she let Zelda ask the question that was on there minds. All the while she kept her eyes on the man as she noticed that even with them here he wasn't going to be answering and that made her a little sad.

The mans reaction didn't phase Zelda as she took a few more steps closer to his bed side. "We aren't visitors in the traditional sense."

She gave him a sweet confident smile. "We are the Heroes who awoke here and we are looking to help."

Kobato just left Zelda to do what she wanted to do as she went to stand by the window, looking out.

"We... want to help someone and we know you can help, but you have to tell us something." She glanced over with a genuine look of concern. She wanted to help and this was a step towards what was needed to be done, but right now she still wasn't sure what the guy wasn't going to do, but so far it looked like he still wouldn't talk.

"Heroes?" Gerad seemed offended at the term. He spat at Zelda's feet. "I don't give a shit about no Heroes and I don't need no help from any o' you. I need to get out o' this damned hospital and I need to get out o' this damned city and I need to get off o' this damned continent, is what I need."

She gestured towards Kobato, "She is right."

Zelda watched him curiously in silence for a moment. "What if we got you out? Would you tell us what you saw?"

"I'm leaving here one way or t'other. I don't plan on being indebted to the like o'you," Gerad grumbled, crossing his arms. "You'd do well to leave 'afore you all are seen here with me. They be watchin', have no doubt, and when they see you here you're as dead as I."

"It won't be a debt because you would be helping us." She didn't want to admit it but he was starting to scare her.

"Who would want to see us dead?" Zelda hoped it wasn't as bad as he said. She looked over at her friend with a worried expression. Maybe she should have come in here alone if it meant danger.

"Who the hell do you think? The animals who put me here." Gerad made a dismissive gesture with his hands. "I don't care what you want to know - the less you know the better. En't no way a couple o'broad like you know what yer gettin' yerselfs into."

Zelda was tired of hearing it and if this thing attacked him and might threatened them it might mean that no hero of light was safe. Her thoughts went to Link as she approached the side of the bed. Her gaze was determined but she didn't say anything just yet.

"Do you really think you can get away. In your condition?" Her voice was soft, she wasn't ready to give up yet.

"My condition," Gerad answered, mocking Zelda's soft tone, "is that I'm trying to stay out of sight until all this blows over, you nitwit. They be sniffin' after me but won't dare to raise the alarm with the higher ups by slittin' me throat right in this bed."

"Excuse me?" came a voice from the door. A young white mage walked in, dressed in the hospital's uniform. "Can I help you two? I don't believe you've been authorized to visit this patient, we've strict orders not to let anyone see him."

Oh, of course, guess who else is planning on going on this mission. Go on, Zelda? Guess. Your favorite information broker, Ryoji Kaji! He saunters up and raises a hand in greeting to Zelda with that cocky smirk already in place.

"So. No luck getting in to talk to the guy yet?"

Zelda looked over towards Kaji and smiled slightly. He was forward but he didn't seem like a bad person, just annoying.

"Nope. Are you here to try your luck?"

Ib comes running up, waving at Kaji and Zelda cheerfully. She'd been spending some time with the sick girl, trying to cheer her up. But there was no way she was missing a chance to help out in a more proactive way.

"Sorry I'm late! Are we going in now?"
