[Haytham approached Bayushi, adjusting his cuffs and the hidden blades that were up his sleeves. He didn't expect a fight in this place but he always strove to be prepared. There was always the risk of a sudden need to fight.

Always the risk of a knife in the shadows.
]

Looking forward to the coming conflict are we? Just be sure to remember what it is we're trying to accomplish here.

[The eyes above the mask flicked to the man in the hat, regarding him as he came near.]

Defeating the Calamity, yes. Did you think that my excitement for the battle to come could make me forget that the world is ending?

[The Scorpion's eyes narrowed.]

You know me better than I thought.

[Haytham gave the masked man a sly smirk, straightening up and clasping his hands behind his back.]

I know most people better than they think. Being aware of the people around you is key in many trades. I've made my livelihood by watching people and being able to read them.

[The Assassin Brotherhood was a public secret among the Heroes. As things moved along they had no need to hide in the shadows, but they always held their plans amongst themselves.

Of course the best kept secret, and one kept even from them, was that Haytham wasn't one of the Brotherhood.
]

So which of these operations will you be embarking on?

I will go into the caves. A good thing, too. The few that I will be exploring with look like the kind who don't want to be hit.

Where will you be going?

Investigating one of the ruins in the hopes of finding an artifact to turn all of this... [He gestures at the map.] Around. I can only hope that our poking around in things we do not understand doesn't cause any further harm.

Sometimes I think we would have been better off leaving well enough alone. Certainly we should have spent more time considering our actions.

[Kwanchai rolls his shoulder with a shake of his head.]

Good luck.

I've never been one for caution. If not for what came before, we would not be about to succeed here, hm?

Indeed. Now more than ever we must believe in the paths we have taken and make sure that our doubts or those others may have don't interfere.

We can't afford to hesitate.

Yes, hesitation is proof of weakness. If one is not confident in their ability or their intentions, I do not see why they should succeed at all.

Words to live by, indeed. Do take care.
