Where: Dreams.
When: Overnight from April 16th to April 17th.
Summary: The Heroes of Light have a shared dream— They find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light from two thousand years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting things that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light aren't just anybody; they are people from their homeworlds... And sometimes themselves. Please refer to the second OOC Post for details and plotting.

[It had been a trying task to keep up with him, given how much faster he'd become in the past few months. The incidents across the surface of the world had made for good conditioning, with the dichotomy of also keeping her and her friends in a constant state of fear. Many had fallen and turned to the fate which seemed to inevitable for what Heroes remained, but it hadn't kept her from believing that their cause would be triumphant, especially with Cloud at the front of their expedition.

Poking her head from behind a corner, she caught sight of him against the wall, her cheeks flushing into a hue of rose as she tries to keep her heart from beating out of her chest. An indirect clearing of her throat echoes to catch his attention, a young teenager stepping out from behind the veil of the building to make herself known.]

I thought I'd find you here.

[Cloud glanced up from his distraction, pushing the buzzing in his mind aside. A sadness filled his heart as he saw this younger version of Tifa. She was getting to the age she was at when they first began their grand adventure across Gaia, but she wasn't quite there yet.

The result was a girl who could fight as well as her future self, but looked all too innocent for the world. She'd never been scarred by Nibelheim, and convincing her to be wary of Sephiroth was not something he could do without hurting her in some way. The best he could do was have her back and watch out for her.]

Tifa. How are you doing?

[He wanted to confide in her. About his worries. About the voice in the back of his mind that was flailing in confusion. He had to play aloof. He didn't like it but it was the only way he could manage.]

[She shuffled with little more than the last lingering hope that the day might end with the past few months being nothing more than an apparition; a cruel dream that she might wake to find the world she knew whole once more. Her arms go slack before shoulders raise to offer a meager shrug.]

As good as they can be, I guess. You.. doing okay? You've been having to deal with a lot lately.

[She moseys up beside him, standing atop the knee-high western boots she'd been given by her Father. She bends slightly at her waist, leaning forward to look him in the eyes with a slight pout at her lips.]

Hmm.. Same old Cloud.

I'll be fine.

[But he couldn't help but seem a bit shocked at her second comment. He turned, looking at her fully as if expecting someone else to be standing there. It wasn't something he ever remembered her saying as a kid.]

Same old...I'm older than you here. I'm not the Cloud you remember from Nibelheim. ['I wish I could be though. I miss those simpler days.']

If we can get through this, maybe we can save this world. Or at least maybe we can go home. [It was a desperate hope but he was rapidly running out of things to hold onto in this world.] Which group do you think you'll be going with?

Not sure yet. I don't even know what kind of use I'll be outside of being a moving target.

[She lets out a brief sigh, tipping forward on the very points of her feet before rocking back again onto her heels.]

Yup. Same old Cloud. You're always going off on your own, or keeping to yourself. You might be older, but you're still the solitary sort.

[She finally sits down next to him, pulling her legs in close so that her arms hug them against her chest.]

Going home sounds like a long shot, but there's only one way to find out. You think we've got a good chance of coming out of this?

[Cloud watches her as she takes her seat and then quietly slides down the wall next to her. He curls a knee up to his chest and leans against it, looking long and away for a quiet moment.]

I want to hope we do. If everyone does their part then we have a chance. I don't know if we'll see Gaia again but as long as we keep it safe that's what matters.

[He turns and looks her in the eyes, his concern readily visible on his face.]

Whichever group you go with, I'll go too and keep you safe. And if you can help it, don't go with Sephiroth's team. I know the others here say he's on our side but I don't trust him.

Not go with Sephiroth..?

[She blinks, eyes going wide as she tries to reason with his request.]

But, Sephiroth is a hero, isn't he? He's been pretty reliable.

[She had planned to follow behind him as he had, on more occasions than she can count, been a formidable ally in a fight. It's a notion she will hold of on mentioning to him, at least for now.]

If you want, I'll do my best to not be near him, if I can help it.

[Cloud frowns at Tifa's question. It's one that he's grown tired of hearing, let alone trying to answer or rebuke. Instead he just closes his eyes and shakes his head.]

He's...I'm not sure what his goals are right now. Even if he's been helping everyone here I'm sure it's because there's something else he is planning.

Just...be careful okay? I'll try to go with you guys and maybe...maybe I'm wrong. [He knows he isn't but rarely has he more wanted to be.]

[Her lips shift into a strange pout, moving to a corner of her jaw as she looks reluctant to accept Cloud's wish past the false mannerisms of agreeing with him. Tifa just cannot imagine Sephiroth as anything less than a hero, but Cloud had eluded to knowing more than the two of them at some previous points in time. Perhaps he knew something that she didn't?]

Well, so long as you keep your promise, I've got nothing to worry about, do I?

Right...the promise...of course. [His smile started worried, but then he shook his head. His face firmed and he looked at her with a gaze backed by the steel in his soul.]

I promise that if you get in a pinch I'll come save you.
