Summary: The Heroes of Light have a shared dream— They find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light from two thousand years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting things that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light aren't just anybody; they are people from their homeworlds... And sometimes themselves. Please refer to the second OOC Post for details and plotting.

That smile does the exact opposite of reassuring her, her face falling into a worry she doesn't even bother to conceal. Of all the people affected by what had happened, Faize had been the one who concerned her the most, and to know there was so little she could do for him...]

You say that now, but if anything, and I mean anything happens... [She takes a deep breath and steels herself, the look in her eyes now one of absolute determination, completely in contrast to his own demeanour.]

I want you to come straight to me. Don't make me go out looking for you.

[(I don't understand, why is she here? And who is this guy?)

Of course, he knew it wouldn't fool her. But he couldn't really muster up anything genuine, not right now. But he truly didn't want her to worry about him when she had so much more to be concerned with at the moment.]

......Very well. I will report to you straight away. Ah... have you seen to yourself already?

Please do. [But for his own question, well... She may have been asking others what more she could do for them this whole time, but she couldn't really think of anything else for herself. Were the situation less dire, she might have stranded to look a bit sheepish.]

I'm trying to look after myself, because a lot of people might need my abilities. [Even if for all her magic, they still had to protect her...]

And because I don't want to lose anyone else.

[Her last comment, trailing off as it was, hit home. That, too, was another thing that linked them both..... Edge and Fayt had both been taken down in the same battle, months ago by the crystalline beings now infesting Crystallis. They had both handled their grief differently, but he knew it must have affected her just as badly as it had him.

He hadn't been able to cope, and Sophia.....]

Exactly. [If she were to give in to her grief, Fayt would never forgive her, would he? At the very least, he'd be chiding her before telling her to keep going forward, they had work to do. Thinking about him that way made it all just a bit easier, even if it made her miss him all the more.

« Fayt is... Please, someone explain what is happening! » ]

Huh? [Sophia looks over her shoulder briefly, even though there's no one between her and the wall.] Faize you... You do know what we're doing, right?

[(That's what I'd like to know!! Hey, is anyone listening?!)

Faize glances up, finally meeting her eyes for what was likely the first time today. What was she saying.....?]

Of course I do. We must fight, and prevent the Crystallization of this world however we can. Why do you ask, Sophia.....?

[He rubs his forehead, a slight pain in his head making him wince. He hadn't been sleeping well, so it was only to be expected that it would have adverse side effects.]

That's what I thought. [Sophia takes a moment to shake her head, almost smiling sheepishly. At the very least, she was glad to be looking into his eyes again.] It just sounded like someone was asking what we were doing, and for someone to not know at this point... It'd be kind of silly, wouldn't it?

[It could almost be called a blessing, depending on how one looked at it. And she was almost going to say as such, until she noticed the wincing.] Faize...?

[He shakes his head, rubbing his temple slightly as he does.] I would be quite concerned if that were the case.

[If someone was going into battle unaware of the stakes at hand, it could go poorly for them indeed.]

And... it's just a small headache. It's nothing of concern. [(Damn it, can't he hear me....?)] In truth, I didn't sleep well last night. But I will be fine.

[Normally she would have scolded him for pushing himself forward anyway, but it probably couldn't have been helped; she'd had her own share of sleepless nights, escalating in the past several months since they lost Fayt and Edge. For now, she could only offer a sympathetic smile.]

Yeah, I hope so... But like I said, any trouble and you come to me first, okay? [At least he didn't seem tired to the point of hearing unusual things, right?]

Of course. [He might, or he might not. If Sophia was busy helping others, he certainly didn't wish to cause her any difficulty....

Hmm... [Sophia's expression becomes thoughtful, even resting a finger gently on her chin. Would... it be too much to ask? Could it even be called selfish? She just wanted to know he would try...]

This might seem like a given, but promise we'll meet again once this is all done and over with? This world might need some looking after for a while, so let's help it along? It'd mean a lot to me to still have my friends.

....I'll try. [He couldn't promise more than that, with the battles ahead., had learned that such promises could not always be kept. Part of him didn't wish too, either, if he was being truthful. It would be so easy....

['Try'... That... really was the best she could hope for, wasn't it? Sophia could only know her own struggle to carry on, and it had been so tiring...

« You can't... No, listen to me. You can't come this far and start to give in now. What did you just ask of him? »
