"The problem is somewhere someone chose to act against the terms of this world. And in doing so we have been left in a bad situation. Now while the plan may have flaws it also may be best to go over the plan again step by step."
He looked off to the side as somewhere Elizabeth scoffed disapprovingly in his head.
"Perhaps that way we can decide if this is truly an act that will lead us out of the tower, or if we are simply stuck to crash to the Earth with it. Perhaps in listening with our heads, then our hearts can see the truth."

Maybe it's because of the fact that people were dying, and then...not coming back. Either way, the more he listens to this... discussion, the more frustrated he becomes. Why are they wasting all this time just talking?! Isn't it obvious what they should do?! Their... worlds are not an option in this, damn it! Not if... not if he can help it... He'd already been snatched away from Auldrant before he could manage to do a damn thing about the miasma of Akzeriuth, so--
His breaths quicken, and then he's quickly cutting in just as Igor's words are said, "Damn it, enough already!!!" He hadn't even realized he was slamming his fist against a wall, until he's feeling the stinging aftermath, "..."
Releasing a shaky breath, he grits his teeth and focuses his attention on the floor for a moment, "The more time we spend just... talking about this, the more time we're wasting!"
Never mind that one hand is trembling as he says the next part. He's also going to outright ignore every argument that's been thrown against what he believes to be the right plan. Green eyes lift towards Ashelia...and then Buccaneer as he speaks, "If you guys wanna fight...I'm with you."

Too young. This was a cruel choice she was asking them to make. She couldn't entirely blame Luke for his impatience, either -- not when their time was running short as it was.
"I understand how you feel, but Igor has a point. Too much depends on our decision for us to act without thinking."
She turned to the last Hero, the only one who had yet to speak. "You know the plan better than any of us. What are your thoughts?"
no subject
"I'm honored, but I only know as much as any of you." She had been looking at the Crystal of Fire as Nebilim called her. She marked a brief pause before continuing. "There is only one truth and it is inescapable: we have lost. Even if you manage to kill Garland, what then? The Calamity cannot be stopped. No matter what we chose to do, only death awaits us."
She sighed and turned to look at the others. She looked particularly sad, but directed her stare to Luke, Buccaneer and Ashelia.
"The question is, can we give future generations the chance we never had? Can we turn death into victory? If you believe so, then you know what to do."
With that said, she turned back to the Crystal of Fire.
"Should you chose to believe we can still win now and today, then I respect your choice and admire your extraordinary gift for hope." Another pause, "But please remember what Nebilim said. This isn't just about our lives and worlds."

"You all know me, some to a better degree than others, but that doesn't change the fact that most of you here know I follow my gut, and more than that, I follow my general. Look at my crystal. No messages or transmissions, yet I hear her in my head telling me to fight. To leave the plan Kalki agrees with, because she is a traitor. I have no proof but the clear ring of Olivier's words in my head."
"So try to convince me to doom my world. I don't mind dying, I already did it to save them back home. If we only weaken the Calamity before it goes for our home worlds, that is enough. I know at least one of our home worlds will beat it. What makes this crystallized world more important than the worlds we all come from?"

Although, Buccaneer is talking about voices now? Maybe the stress is getting to him. Suddenly, she just feels tired. When she speaks, her voice is quiet.
"Do you even know where Garland is? Can you find him in time?"
She's shifting her eyes to each one of the dissenters in turn, wondering if they really understand what they're saying.
"If you do find him, can you beat him? Will the calamity stop if you do? Or will you just fight him while the Calamity spreads and all the worlds are lost?"
no subject
He takes out his phone and looks over it, "No, an issue with Garland is a separate issue. Buccaneer's question is not one having to do with the direct conflict but the consequences of it."
no subject
"Even if we weaken the Calamity, can you say for certain it will stay weakened? It has an intelligence of a sort. It could quite easily wait to regain its strength before continuing its mission. We, at least, knew about the existence of the Calamity from the beginning. Other worlds will have no warning -- they'll be at an even worse disadvantage than us."
She mulled over Igor's words. To merely bear witness to this destruction... No, she couldn't accept that.
"I don't know if Crystallis was meant to be saved. If there is destiny, we have no way of knowing what our part in it is. We can only choose our own path and believe in our choices."
Her eyes closed briefly before she turned to watch the Crystal of Fire as well, her face grim.
"Somewhere out there, there are worlds where our friends are still alive." Where my students are still alive. "If Crystallis is all that stands between them and the Calamity... then I will do anything to protect it."
no subject
"If they are fated to die either way, I'd rather give them a chance to fight for themselves. I don't care if it waits to recover, someone will figure something out even if it is at full power."
no subject
Well... she thought those were good questions. But then again she's twelve. The Professor probably should have brought someone else with her. Someone older. Wiser. Ib isn't being any help at all.
So for now she's staying quiet. Letting the grown-ups sort this out.

Though it was another certain thing she'd said that really has him raising his voice at her, "Damn it, we haven't lost! It's not over until we give up!!! There are too many people back on my world that have... nothing to do with any of this for me to-..."
His hands are shaking quite a bit, and he doesn't look at all put together now. Every bit of his emotions are on his face; worry, fear, and... maybe some doubt. Maybe a part of him isn't as sure as he wants to be about this thing as a whole. But... when he says the next part, there is certainty on his face. His tone is more serious than it's ever been.
He genuinely believes that this is the absolute best option, even if he doesn't know that... it will work. He might die... and that absolutely terrifies him... But he has to give his all to this cause, "Even if this fails... at least we did our best. If I went with the other option, I know wouldn't be able to say that..."
And with that, he's turning away; he's done talking about it.

But this was a sterile debate. It appeared obvious all the protagonists had taken their decision now.
"I imagine to those who desire to follow the path of the Hero of Light to the very end, we are all traitors..." She shook her head. "If you so wish, go find Garland and defy him. I shall pray for your success."
Her tone indicated she obviously held no hope of this working.

"I'm going to fight alongside General Armstrong. She's searching for Garland and will be sending a message once she and the others have found his location. You can all work on your plan and consider us a nice distraction for the enemy, but those of you who stay and forsake our worlds, just remember that you are the ones turning your back on our worlds and not giving them the chance."
He gets up and starts to leave the temple.
"All of our worlds for a chance at saving one world, that is not a sacrifice I agree with. Anyone who would rather fight can join me," he calls as he is walking away.
