Where: Dreams.
When: Overnight from April 16th to April 17th.
Summary: The Heroes of Light have a shared dream— They find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light from two thousand years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting things that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light aren't just anybody; they are people from their homeworlds... And sometimes themselves. Please refer to the second OOC Post for details and plotting.

Hylia's words bring a smile back to Gwen's face, they are so impossibly kind, and yet assured. Their inherent truth shines through. "Thank you." She has Gwen's deep gratitude.

"You know. We're probably never going to tell her. About Torchwood. Even about all this," a little amused smirk, "Rhys caught me telling her bedtime stories once. She's just a little girl, how could she ever think it was real? It is, and I want to-" it's so hard to describe. Gwen purses her lips, searching for words. "I want her to know what I know. That the world, the universe is so much bigger than people realize. But, without her thinking that she's got to do something about it."

Gwen waves a hand around at all of them, the heroes. "We're doing this so that other people don't have to. Right?" Or, does the goddess have a different perspective on their role?

"That is true but I don't think that's all of it. We fight so others don't have to, yes but we fight because we have something to protect." She smiled her eyes growing distant as she thought back to her own world.

"Everyone has something to protect. I think those who rise up and do something are what we call heroes. Your daughter might one day be a hero weather you tell her or not because part of your spirit is in her."

It wasn't comforting to say but it was the truth. Even if Gwen wasn't going to be there for her daughter, her daughter would still find a way into her mothers world. She would become a hero and make her mother proud. It was a parents duty to guide and protect their children but they also had to nurture them to become something great.

Gwen smiles deeply, Hylia's words are a comfort, that maybe, even if Anwyn found her way onto the same path as she did, that wouldn't be such a bad thing? She doesn't notice the deep despair that is not her own welling up inside. The idea that the Curse of Torchwood would continue on to another generation, even without Jack there? It's something that he can't stand.

"You're right. And my world needs people to rise up and protect it, just as much as this one does." She glances over at the map, again. "Maybe that's why this doesn't quite feel real. I've seen catastrophes time and time again that could have wiped out my own world. But we beat them back. With far less than what we've got here." There's a little strength back in her voice. "We can win this."

"That's right. We were brought here for a reason." Of course the goddess didn't know of the terrors of Torchwood. She knew that no matter what people would follow the paths they choose and they had the right to do so, even if that path would put them in harms way.

Her gaze shifted to a nearby group before pulling back to Gwen. "Don't lose hope but you should sort out the thoughts in your heart before you head out."

Hylia smiled turning from Gwen. "If you'll excuse me. I should prepare as well."

Gwen nods her head in a respectful gesture as Hylia drifts off. The thoughts in her heart? She looks up again to where Jack and the Doctor are standing. Jack seems to have finally noticed her looking at him, and looks back curiously.

Gwen, I-

Don't you bloody dare, Jack Harkness. Because it's not true. The longer they stay here, the more Gwen wonders if that sentence is going to pop up again. But, he should know better. She's made her choice. And if it came down to a choice between Anwyn or Jack, even Rhys and Jack, she knows what she would choose.

Maybe I didn't doom you, after all.
