Summary: The Heroes of Light have a shared dream— They find themselves in the body of a Hero of Light from two thousand years ago, both witnessing events and reenacting things that happened back then. But these Heroes of Light aren't just anybody; they are people from their homeworlds... And sometimes themselves. Please refer to the second OOC Post for details and plotting.

Haytham frowned, his expression reading that he wasn't entirely sure of what she just said. Whether it was that she wasn't hearing anything or the explanation she gave was not really apparent. "I am unsure myself. But I know of artifacts that can affect the things that a person thinks or perceives. I dread to think that one might be used on us, especially at this juncture."

He sighed and adjusted his cuffs, "I do not wish to raise an alarm over conjecture. I merely wish to be sure we aren't compromised before we even begin. The last thing we need is more preventable deaths on our consciences."

{You're planning to cause deaths yourself you shortsighted fool! You've gone mad with your own desire to control what is going on around you!}

"The POINT," he added, with the emphasis of a man arguing with someone else, "The point is that I want to make sure we can truly trust everyone here to do their part. I fear if we do not succeed our home worlds will be in grave danger."

"Our home worlds are safe, cut off from all this mess. For some people, the possibility of getting home is the only thing keeping them going. I don't believe that's going to be possible. I think we're here for good, and that's a good thing. A way back might be a way for this mess to reach our worlds. But if we're cut off, so is the danger."

Not good enough for Jack, or for the Doctor. They're still holding out hope. And there is a deep, desperate wish in Gwen's heart, that it'll work. Jack's done the impossible before, he can do this, right? Get her home to her little girl without bringing an unstoppable crystal calamity?

Gwen shakes her head. "Their hearts can be trusted. It's their minds you're worried about? I've seen the sort of tech that you're speaking of. Probably a very different kind, not sure what sort of 'artifacts' would work from your time period. But it exists. How would we be able to tell, if people were affected?"

She gazes around the room again, not in paranoia, but in the critical eye that Torchwood has given her. She knows these people, who, if anyone, is acting out of the ordinary?

"Even if they are, I'm not certain I wish to allow myself to feel satisfied with that. I do not wish to take the chance that we are wrong, and that means stopping the advance in this world." And by any means necessary.

"All of our minds. It can be remarkably easy for someone to be turned from one agenda to another. With the right tools they may not even be aware of it." He shook his head and sighed, "I'm afraid I couldn't say what to expect in this world. The Apple was used in close proximity to its victims but who can say how long the effect would last."

His cold gaze remained on the Doctor and Jack, "The best we can do is remain vigilant."
