How about the training room I believe is coming up, or is that one not big enough? [He knew they weren't all the same after all as his eyes looked around, watching the people doing what they needed to.]
no subject
It probably hadn't been the first time that he'd trained with Yugi, either.]
Hm. [He slowed his pace as the one of the more standard-sized training rooms was indeed coming up along the corridor. It was a good point, and question that Yugi raised - he hadn't given much thought to how much room they might need.]
That depends- [Sephiroth's tone carried a small hint of a challenge behind it. As always he would probably pick the larger of the rooms given his own techniques and not to mention the newer powers that he had. Still-] -do you feel like focusing on close quarters, or should we...stretch out a little more?

I think for now bigger is better, if I want to do smaller, I'll do that myself later. [That sounded like an idea to him at least as he looked around. These were the standard sized one and he knew somewhere there was one that was much bigger close by.
Once his eyes wee focused on the direction he was planning to go, he turned to walk toward it, knowing where exactly the room was. With each step he walked he thought over his jobs and what he was able to do. He knew he needed more praise with his Gambler job more than anything as that was a tough one to perfect since he knew it was based on luck.
While that was in mind he stopped in front of one of the bigger rooms as he stepped to the side.]
After you.

It was Sephiroth's pleasure to step forwards and through the door first. It opened into a large arena-like room that seemed like it would be purposed more towards being a stadium than just a training hall. Then again, in times passed Sephiroth had seen many a duel between Heroes fought out here - for settling disputes or for sport, depending.]
Good choice. [He strode into the hall and strode along one of the walls a way before pausing, taking a long look over the space available before stepping away and swinging Masamune out in much the same way that Yugi had seen in the armory.]
So, what Jobs are we looking to practice today?
[He didn't mean 'we' of course, but he had a fairly good guess about what Yugi had been mulling over in the corridor. He didn't appear to mean it in any threatening way; it would ultimately help Yugi if Sephiroth knew what areas he would like to focus on in combat. Not only that, it would give Sephiroth more of an idea what to expect as well. It wasn't anything to be scoffed at, dueling with Sephiroth like what had been offered. Over the years he'd developed a reputation in that regard.]
no subject
Right now, I need to practice my Gambler Job more. It's much harder to deal with and speed is key for me at least. So I practice for that.
no subject
Gambler was much too risky for him to have even considered as a profession, yet he could appreciate the speed-aspect to it.]
Speed is a valuable asset when it comes to mastering any Job. [An acknowledgment, counting on Yugi to explain further.]
no subject
Speed is a good thing. I just need to be certain I can use it if things weren't going to go well. But now I think I am ready.
no subject
It lacks the control that Sephiroth craves. It also removes the reason for motivation to better yourself - if it's all just a deck of cards, whats the point.]
Well then, lets see shall we?
[He's just about ready for anything Yugi might throw at him, after all, he's no idea what cards are even in that deck.]
no subject
Earth Shake.
[As the words pass his lips, he managed to cast earth magic and cast it towards the other. He believed that the other might dodge it with ease really.]
no subject
As the ground he was stood on began to shake in the preliminary tremors that preceded the Earth magic Sephiroth spread his stance wider in an attempt to ride it out - then abruptly had to jump up and back out of the way as three juts of rock spiked out and upwards from a central point.
Of course he landed on his feet, and then nodded to Yugi after wards.]
Not a bad start. Care to draw another?
[He knew he should attack as well, really, but he wanted to give the budding Gambler more of a chance first. Sephiroth was a learn-by-hard-knocks type of tutor but for some Jobs it didn't work to be so heavy handed.]
no subject
He was at least feeling comfortable in using this job better now in a tougher fight.]
no subject
Sephiroth had no intention on letting his guard down; it would be foolish to lose out in a spar now, and be killed when claiming his own legacy were creeping ever closer.
Masamune swept across the path that the card took and at the last possible moment Sephiroth dodged, quicker than the eye could follow, to one side. He followed with a counter this time though, dashing in closer and ducking down to attempt a low leg sweep at Yugi's shins. He could have followed with a slash too -his sword was perfectly positioned for it- yet Sephiroth held that urge back.]
no subject
He laid there for only a brief moment before rolling on the side and getting up, this time the cards were now put away. He was comfortable enough at least to not have use for them any more. Besides he wasn't sure what was going to happen next. But he was ready.]
no subject
[He spoke of the quick recovery when for a moment there Sephiroth had considered to step forwards to help his partner to his feet. After all, Calamity spawn wouldn't be so forgiving and it was promising that Yugi could dust a failure off and get ready again.
Sephiroth followed with a quick three-chain flurry of attacks with his over-long sword. Not pushing the attack very much though, testing the water first with regard to Yugi's ability to block or parry his strikes.]
no subject
As he parried the next attack he was quick to make his own move swinging his sword forward, his grip tightening on the blade.]
no subject
He didn't counter again, letting Yugi press the attack how he felt like and meeting his blade with Masamune each time.]
no subject
I think I can understand why you are such a good swordsman. You must have trained a lot, spent a lot of time perfecting your moves. Am I right?
no subject
When Yugi starts to retreat, Sephiroth follows. Meeting his blade with Yugi's in a slower, but firm succession. It's like playing, but at the very least it's killing the time.]
I did.
[There is no need to extrapolate further, though if he were to answer with more details Sephiroth would quickly find a vast abyss where those memories used to be.
{It all just cuts off...!!}
The small voice is silenced yet again as it's plunged into more relevant memories, hoping that it will be drowned out for good this time.]
no subject
So moving his sword, he went and put it back into it's holder. For now would be a good time as any to stop, even if it was for a little break.]
I don't know how much time we have before we are meant to head off, but even so now might be a good time to break.
