He dodged another spike, holding his sword as he went to take down the crystalline figure that had stabbed her. It was clear he was angry, it was clear in his face. With that sorted he knelt down to her level before looking over.
"Guys, just focus on the task at hand right now, I'll be sure to help in a moment."

Ventuswill slumped over, and the creature that had once been Dycedarg laughed. It was a grotesque barking sound that reverberated off of the crystal walls of the cave. [Ramza shuddered. A brave mage like Ventuswill deserved better than Dycedarg's scorn.]
The rest would fall as well. The creature raised up its arm and drew a circle in the air. A ball of darkness formed, growing rapidly. An almost careless wave sent the darkness toward Rayman, the Hero that had dared strike his face.

The voice inside of her gasped sharply, a desperate No... no! sounding from the corners of her mind.
The woman was unphased, stepping to the side to avoid the spike that shot up from the ground beside her, and crouching down as she felt the need to cough -- her hand covering her mouth, revealing a trickle of blood that she wiped at. Had the poison truly affected her this much? Unless -- there was more poison she had ingested before this... damn.
Closing her eyes, the mage began to chant her spell, weaving the magic around her as she drew up the energy of an attack she would pour all of her Dark Aurora into... Dycedarg -- he would pay for what he had done to her!

"I guess I overdid it... heh heh. Thanks..." Looking up at Yugi, Venti manages a wry smile for him, in spite of the fact she'd soon be dead. They all surely knew it - this was a fatal wound. The blood wasn't even letting up, nor was the onslaught of crystal spikes it would seem. They couldn't stay in one place for long. Venti coughs, blood trickling out as she continues, "Don't-- Don't worry about me. Focus on that man."
( "No. Don't tell me you're just giving up! Come on, dammit, just listen - we're not having any of that! Not today, not tomorrow, not ever! Think about your friends here, or even back in Selphia. What do you think they would think if they saw you like this?" )
It seems without even intending images of her friends swelled up to the surface, starting with the friends she remembers conversing with back at the Crystal of Water. Then, her friends from home. Was this some kind of plea within herself to hold on? For their sake? Leon, who always had that tricky, impertinent way of speaking with her, yet still seemed to understand her best. Dolce and Pico - the former with a biting tongue, yet still warm-hearted deep down and the latter silly, mischevious; both of their silly antics who always brought a smile to her face. Dylas, never one to express himself well, but a truly kind person despite that. Amber, ever sunny and pleasant, but with a sense of understanding that belies her age...
And her friend from the sky, clutching onto her charm and pleading that Ventuswill was a truly kind, sweet being and would never do something 'so horrible'. ... How strange. This wasn't a memory she personally recalled. None of these images were.
No matter, the sound Dycedarg's inhuman roar of laughter cut off that train of thought. The flashing of memories seemed to work - but not in the way the presence within her was intending, with Venti struggling to stand on her feet. She pulls out her own crystal, in the familiar shape of a Rune Sphere, before looking back up at her friend.
"Listen, Yugi. I need-- I need a favor from you," Venti manages a strained voice of gentleness, almost as if nothing was wrong if not for the blood welling up to her mouth as she reaches out to him. "Can you help me up? Please..."

"There... You are up now, but why?" He asked as he looked over towards the others, watching the darkness hit rayman. He didn't want to lose hope, but he could already tell they were losing. But as he gripped her lightly again, it was obvious he wasnt going to give up just like that.
"I'm sure you need my help a little more, right? What is it you need?"

He staggered back onto a shaking leg, and lurched forward towards the sorceress. What crystal figures remaining between he and his destination struck out at the samurai, and to Makoto's horror he began to use his injured arm to stop incoming blows as he ran by, slashing with his katana and laughing hoarsely.
"Yes, the other sword had been holding me back! I see now!"
Bringing down his blade once more, Kwanchai kicked over the figure nearest to Shizel and put his back to her, facing the unholy creature. His training as a yojimbo brought his good arm into a defensive stance, the other dripping a steady stream of blood onto the floor.
"That had better be... your best spell, shugenja... if it fails, I have a Limit Break left in me, and then you are on your own..."

There was powerful magic stirring in the air around its enemies. The Calamity Spawn growled, wanting its foes dead, longed to bring them back under its control as crystal soldiers. They would dance, like puppets on a string.
But first, it had to finish them. It would not take long. Their flesh bodies were weak and easily rent. It could bring the crystalline walls of the cave smashing together to crush their bodies.
Let the puppets do the work. Stay back, away from their attacks. [The Heroes still had strength, and powerful magic, if only he could convince the monster to give them the time to cast it...]
The beast snorted. It waved, instead of directly attacking the weakened Heroes, the creature summoned up more of the crystal soldiers, who tripped over the fallen as they marched forward.

"Haha... hah, that man... thinks he's finished me off. Finished us all off. How arrogant," Venti's laugh is still strained, as more blood seeps out from her. "But I... still have one last trick up my sleeve."
Once she's on her feet, she'll take a few steps forward away from Yugi. Each step weighed down by her deteriorating state, holds her crystal forward.
"I'll... show him he best not underestimate what a Native Dragon... is truly capable of."
Her "limit break", the very thing that would unleash the true power of a Hero of Light in times of desperation. For one brief moment, she could finally transform back to her true form. In the very instant she let off her final attack, she would dissipate. But there was no way she would allow that man to have the last laugh. As she concentrates, Venti manages a sad smile. These words to her friends very well may be her last.
"Yugi, Rayman, everyone... Thank you. And I'm sorry."

“Ngh!” Ventuswill struggles to stay up, he very act of being in her dragon form alone is a massive toll on her body. Her body itself was a massive collection of runes, meant to sustain the land. Yet here she was in a world where runes were largely absent and unneeded. In a world like that, she'd normally dissipate instantly. Perhaps that did not apply here, but the fact remained: she would die. The moment she let this limit break loose, she would die. But Venti herself was well aware of her own impending passing for the longest time, even before she became a Hero of Light.
“Listen… Listen up. I am Ventuswill, the Divine Wind of Selphia… A Hero of Light of Crystallis.”
Ventuswill steps forward, but carefully, to put herself between Dycedarg and the rest. Each step was laborous and draining but she could at least use her own size as a shield to allow them to ready their assault in the meantime.
“… And these are my dear friends. I— gh…!" She stumbles, nearly collapsing before catching herself, struggling to hold herself upright. "I won’t… allow any more of my friends to die before me. Let my very life force fuel this last spell to end yours! Cyclone!“”
( "No... you idiot! Stop!" )
A roar splits through the cave as Ventuswill unleashes her most powerful wind magic, a literal cyclone aimed straight for Dycedarg, with the strength to rip any normal human straight to shreds. Did it hit? That much Venti did not get the chance to know, for she's already dissipated. Her human form collapses to the ground like a rag doll, quite clearly dead. There was no use trying to save her at this point.
so sorry for the delay!!
Shizel... You are fighting hard, just like everyone...
She knew now. That was Meredy's voice. A voice that had been long silenced during her time in Crystallis -- but one she had never forgotten. Balir, Meredy -- she thought, what would you think of me now?
Meredy thinks... Shizel is not really...
But finally, the spell was complete. The magic she had carefully woven coming to a peak as her dark eyes finally snapped open, a gigantic sword taking shape above the heroes made of pure energy. "Eternal Fatality!" she cried, lifting her staff high above her as the sweat zigzagged down her face, her breath catching in her throat, the poison squeezing her airway shut with that final shout, as she collapsed to the ground.
No... M-mother -- !!
The powerful spell came raging down on Dycedarg -- though if those still standing weren't careful -- the magic wouldn't discriminate from 'friend' or foe.

The dragon's Cyclone spell hit Dycedarg hard, throwing him back against the crystal cavern's wall. The cave shook with the impact, sending rocks and stalactites raining onto the floor below. The creature bellowed.
Shizel's glowing sword delivered the death blow, shattering the monster's crystal body. A wave of dark energy and crackling thunder blasted forth. When the darkness dissipated, Dycedarg was visible. He pushed himself up with one bloody, twisted arm. "You've ruined...everything. You fools," he coughed out. And then he crumpled to the ground, dead.
Those that still stand have achieved victory.
