Intro Log || The Night of the Thirteen Moogles

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of October. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. New Heroes of Light will not have their Crystal.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo," the call of the Moogle finally waking you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- Wait, you don't have a Crystal...? That's weird.

Your Moogle will be puzzled by this fact, as all Heroes of Light are supposed to have a crystal with them. Well, maybe you are not a Hero of Light after all?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world one or two months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers worthy of being revered as heroes. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The Night of the Thirteen Moogles
— Anytime —
Something that may be obvious, is that the city has a spooky feel to it. There are various decorations, it clearly looks like a work in progress but it seems the idea is to make the city looks as scary as possible. Characters familiar with Halloween may recognize the decoration as being strikingly similar. The Moogles will be more than pleased to explain these are all preparations for the upcoming Night of the Thirteen Moogles on the 31st, and they will explain the legends to characters if they ask.

Hopefully all this talk of curse and King Moggle Mog is nothing more than legend.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially with everyone excited for the upcoming celebration. Starting from 18:00, a series of BLitzball games will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing amateur teams in a friendly competition. At the same time, a small group of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Be it Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, or the Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline, knowing the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th. Still, characters can board an exposition Airship should they like and visit it.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

"Yes, I do." It was an answer to both questions, and said in absolute confidence. She believed in the other Heroes and, most of all, in herself. "If it comes to that. This is not our battle; I would sooner see us all home."

She shook her head, continuing as she turned a corner briskly. "There must be. I refuse to believe we've no choice in the matter." Ashelia wasn't sure what choice she would make given the opportunity, but she was clearly driven to at least give it to the others. "There is one of our number, Ib, who should never have been brought here. A girl of nine or so. I'll fight for her if nothing else."

Ramza and his moogle Simon had been exploring the city, getting a feel for the layout of things, when someone barreled in to the young warrior. He took a step back to regain balance, and quickly put out an arm to steady the swaying girl.

"Are you well?" he asked, concerned. She certainly did not look it.

Other Heroes

"Anyone know where the quest board is? There has to be one in a town like this, right?"

Yes, she did just show up but she wasn't going to let herself get confused with semantics. Or whatever it was called. Not being confused about where she was, that was it. Kris had been in this situation enough times to know that there was only one thing to do; take advantage of a whole new group of people who could use the kind of skills she carried. It was like a brand new market full of gold and it was waiting for her.

"If that's not around, I'm sure someone is looking for a travel companion who actually has experience in dungeon crawling. Because you could always hire me."

As long as someone was standing between her and danger, at least. Kind of hard to cast spells any other way. That and she leaned a little towards the fragile side. Knowing one's own weaknesses was the key to victory!

Akiha doesn't have much longer to ponder because someone it trying to tug that bonnet from her hands. Hey, it's a cute bonnet and whatever belongs to Akiha also belongs to Kris. And Akiha certainly isn't doing a good enough job appreciating things that can look good.

"You should probably keep that on!"

She puts it as 'probably' mostly because anything that suggests that Akiha must do something would result in a stubborn Akiha. Kris knows this veeeery well. The mage added a charming smile to that statement too.

Ramza gaped for a moment. "Nine? And she was brought here to fight? How can that be?" Anger stirred at the idea of putting such a young child in harm's way. He took a breath to calm himself.

"Does the queen, or whoever rules in her absence, know of this? If they have the power to bring us here, they can surely send her back to safety. If they are so desperate to have their Heroes of Light, those of us who have seen battle before can take up the mantle."

He knew that ShinRa wasn't entirely made up of the good guys, what with Project G happening but not everyone there was a bad person - like Angeal, Cloud or even Kunsel. Even Sephiroth and Genesis weren't evil all of the time. Just products of dark work from people like Hollander and Hojo. Zack believed that he still had his SOLDIER honor to the end, even when standing in front of a firing squadron.

There was one thing that he wanted to tell Angeal and soon - and that was about Genesis. Out of the three original 1sts, one of them had come out the other side just fine. It was what his mentor had wanted and Zack managed to do it in his stead. As for his reason for using the sword, he hadn't been worried that the other would disapprove once he heard the story. Angeal had used it once to save his life and that was exactly what he was doing too.

"A lot has changed," he doesn't say that he cried like a little kid after having to kill Angeal. But for now he smiled. "You mean traveling to another world doesn't mean I can take a vacation?" As much as it still hurt to not have his mentor around, it was also nice. He also trusted the older man when he said that he wouldn't have to worry about the army hunting him down.

One day at a time. That's how he had been taking it since their escape from the mansion, that's how he would take it here for a while.

With both of them having food, Zack dug into his but the fork stopped halfway to his mouth when the word 'hero' was out there. The Moogles had spoken of Heroes of Light but it was different coming from Angeal. Like actually fulfilling his dream instead of just being given the same title as everyone else who came through here. Zack's surprise, followed swiftly by his happiness is something he can't hide, so it's with a smile when he said, "I can eat no matter what. Stomach of steel."

"You can't? I do think that the Planet had just turned to ice upon hearing those words."

It was a gentle tease, a mere ghost of the amount of rancor Genesis could - and often did - deliver towards the younger man. But this was not the Planet, he was not a fragment of himself rotting at the core, and the young man was a little hard to be mad at while he was enjoying his food. Genesis took a seat, set his tea cup down on the table and smiled at Zack. He looked different, the degradation gone, his eyes a more vivid green than actual blue, and he had swapped out his uniform of long red coat over black for something close to a workout outfit.

Genesis also was developing freckles.

"I'm sure your moogle friend could tell you more" She spotted the one she assumed that was the one assigned to her, she figured that they could tell her more about the holiday that they celebrated rather than her having to explain something she only knew a tiny bit about.

"Ah, I was thinking of walking to mine, so why don't we all walk together until we have to go our separate ways?"

"What can I say, dumbapples fill a guy up."

He didn't actually get to have an entire apple, nothing but a single bite of it actually before he got distracted by the letter from Aerith. It will still serve a purpose to say that though since Zack has already run into Angeal who has no idea of the events after his death. Maybe it would give him a hint from when Genesis was from since he doesn't look like he's degrading anymore.

Zack motioned to the plates and bowls laid out in front of him. "You going to help me out?"

"Pumpkin soup? That sounds lovely." She admitted she never tried something like that before, but in a new world trying new things should be a must. So she out it in her head that at some point she was going to make soup with pumpkin.

"It most certainly sounds like a happy time. After all harvest is the time for crops to be cut down and made into various foods, or at least this is what I assume."

"Quest board? I assume you are meaning to go on some kind of adventure right?" Kairi had stopped to ask when he had heard the other asking about it. She had to admit she hadn't asked such a question herself but was rather curious about where it was. She could just ask her moogle if she really had too.

"I think there might be something along those lines somewhere, I'm sure the moogles would know more than us."

Bloom had currently been sitting down, her moogle friend sleeping next to her, it's little head resting on her side. She didn't want to move because she knew that would wake the other up so when someone wondered over she might as well at least be polite. That was the least she could do after all.

"You mean the whole being in a different world mean? It can be since I didn't know such a world existed."

She paused after she spoke, she had to assume he wasn't a native here either, especially after that question. This meant that she could at least try and get along with them. "So you must be like me? Someone who was brought here and given the title Hero of Light."

Her spot on the floor had basically ensured that Zack saw her since his eyes were searching for a slumped blond male. Crouching down in front of her, his huge sword somehow managed to not get in his way. There was a slight smile at the Moogle sleeping on her.

"Neither did I. Here I thought my world was the only one."

It might be hard to tell if he's joking or not considering his light tone. Zack nodded. "That's me. I'm Zack Fair, new Hero of Light," he said rather proudly.

"It's still impressive." She said as she watched him change from one job to another. Oh, so hat's how it worked and that armour looked very similar to hers.

"That's right, Daphne did mention my armour being that of a paladin, but I had no idea of what they meant by it exactly." She thought about it quietly so it wasn't exactly normal for the natives here to have more than one job, but they were able to work with more than that. It was was quite interesting.

"So... What would that mean for those who arrive here without such a crystal? Do I only have the one?"

"Just Bloom will do." She said not feeling right at being called Lady even given her status back home. She was just like everyone else here and she expected everyone to call her by simply her name.

"We shall... How about this way first and make out way around from there?" She asked taking a few steps on ahead and waiting for the other to come around.

"It could be interesting, but maybe not something I would do for fun. If there was a part of the world where we had to be underwater, I probably would, but I don't think I see that happening at all." She answered honestly, as she watched one of the players score a goal, causing her to give a small clap and listened to the others cheer.

"I was in my home world the keeper of a power that could never be destroyed. So I kind it kind of ironic that it got taken away here and yet in any other situation either I was the only one with magic left or the power never left me even when I thought it had."

But here was different and it made her even more curious as to how they managed to take it away from her.

She assumed that meant he didn't know of the existence of other worlds and that where he was from there was only one. That she could understand, before she knew the truth, her truth she had only thought Earth was the only place and that her dreams of fairies and such were just fiction.

How wrong she had been all those years ago.

"Nice to meet you Zack, I'm Bloom a new Hero of Light as well. But I guess it means you know about as much as I know about this whole place."

Being upset will not change anything.

[Yeul is used to not being able to change things or act on her own impulses. It is how she was raised. Her voice is soft and reserved as she watches the girl in front of her.]

"I am the seeress and that is my duty, to watch over the timeline." Her tone was calm but her composure falters for a brief second. Yeul had been the seeress, until the chaos and visions were taken from her. It was clear that the goddess Etro had no sway here.

Yeul gave her a nod and looks over at her moogle. She suddenly looked more child like than before as she addresses her fluffy flying friend. "Will you tell me the story?"

Hibi nodded. "When we get home, kupo."

She looked back at Kairi before setting off towards the 14th district. "Lets go then." Yeul roughly knew the way because her moogle had given her directions earlier in case she got lost.

"That's right and the food gets dried and cured for the winter. I am planning to make a batch of pumpkin soup sometime soon so you should stop by my house. I'm planning to make plenty." Zelda enjoyed spreading the cheer of the holidays which was why she was collecting so many decorations.

Yuffie looked up at him with tears still in the corner of her eyes. Waking up here had been awful for the little ninja and she had felt alone. She wrapped her arms around Zack's waist, revealed to see someone that she knew, even if their past was complicated. It had taken time for the surprise at seeing the hero SOLDIER to sink in and she suddenly realized he was real.

As a commemoration of their reunion, and while she was close to his pocket, she took the chance to dig around and pilfer some of his money.

"They are and I have to live with the worst one EVER!" Of course she was talking about her roommate who on every occasion they interacted they ended up fighting. "And ones a girl!" Yuffie might not be making much sense in her ramblings but so far she has had no one outside of Mooshoo to talk to and the little fluff of a moogle was to much like her father.

Other Heroes

MarKus, probably unlike anyone his age, sat on the floor while letting his Moogle explain all of the things, up to and including why he was here and his lack of a crystal. Neither phased him really. While surely most were shocked to be here, he seemed pretty glad.

"So I have to save this world then I get to go home is what you're basically telling me. Well, before we keep on about it... can I get something to eat?" That just seems logical, right?

Night of the 13 Moogles + Aqures Ixen
MarKus walks along with his Moogle in tow, looking about, seeing all the decorations, and being frequently stopped by all sorts of warriors asking him to fix their thises and thats.

"So it's October... Halloween is coming! Sweet!" he says when he's not being hounded to fix something... His clothing just seemed... 'worldly', and didn't seem to be aware that he was geared up like a Blacksmith; which he didn't mind since he got a bandanna along with it. "Where do we get candy around here?" he asks Kugami, more or less thinking of him as a little kid tagging along on his adventure.

(Of course, this is also a chance to ask him to fix YOUR armor or weapons)

Angeal laughed for what felt like ages. Even though he had Genesis and Sephiroth with him, the heaviness between them often made his laughter sardonic and less than sincere. The lighter air with Zack around took so much more weight off his chest that he was able to breathe. It was nice to just be himself without the pressure, yet Angeal was always himself no matter what.

Even with the changes, Zack was still Zack only tougher and seasoned. He had placed a lot of faith in Zack which said a lot. He picked up a roll and broke it half, setting each half on either side of the plate to cut into his roast beef. While he didn't have to say a lot, just being around Zack was all he needed to feel human again. Even through the past two months of his stay here in Aqures Exin without powers other than the granted ones through his jobs, he felt more alive now than before.

It was as if part of his soul had healed though the conflict was still there yet hidden. The tension between Sephiroth and Genesis and his slowly establishing relationship with a Genesis from another universe had him pulled by the limbs. There was only on way to fix that issue and that was to let time take its course.

He took a bite from the cut piece that was held at the end of the fork, he thought of so many different things. Cloud would be happy to see him, that much was certain. He chewed with thought and swallowed. "Cloud is here as well. He would want to see you. I've been training with him lately and I'm quite impressed. His determination is as strong as yours but he needs you."

Angeal wasn't sure what for but there was something missing in Cloud that Angeal was able to see. Perhaps Zack was that missing part in his life too, and so he thought to bring him up. It was odd, as if nothing had changed between Angeal and Zack. The truth of the matter was that Angeal was far too reserved to bring up the heavier issues in a public venue.
