Intro Log || The Night of the Thirteen Moogles

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of October. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. New Heroes of Light will not have their Crystal.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo," the call of the Moogle finally waking you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- Wait, you don't have a Crystal...? That's weird.

Your Moogle will be puzzled by this fact, as all Heroes of Light are supposed to have a crystal with them. Well, maybe you are not a Hero of Light after all?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world one or two months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers worthy of being revered as heroes. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The Night of the Thirteen Moogles
— Anytime —
Something that may be obvious, is that the city has a spooky feel to it. There are various decorations, it clearly looks like a work in progress but it seems the idea is to make the city looks as scary as possible. Characters familiar with Halloween may recognize the decoration as being strikingly similar. The Moogles will be more than pleased to explain these are all preparations for the upcoming Night of the Thirteen Moogles on the 31st, and they will explain the legends to characters if they ask.

Hopefully all this talk of curse and King Moggle Mog is nothing more than legend.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially with everyone excited for the upcoming celebration. Starting from 18:00, a series of BLitzball games will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing amateur teams in a friendly competition. At the same time, a small group of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Be it Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, or the Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline, knowing the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th. Still, characters can board an exposition Airship should they like and visit it.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

"It's my moogle. He's suppose to watch me. I've gotta run." Yuffie turned and started running down a side street hoping that her miffed moogle couldn't follow her.

"Don't mind if I do, kupo!" Monty replied and began scarfing down the food. Genesis, now also known as Genny to avoid confusion with the other Genesis, turned around just in time see Monty eat someone else's food. She frowned and grabbed her own bag of food she was taking home and reach over to pluck her Moogle by the wing.

"Did I not tell you that we will be home soon for lunch? You said you could wait."

"But this guy said I could, kupo!"

Genesis finally looked over at the gentleman who let her moogle eat so much and she nearly dropped Monty as her eyes widened.

"Zack?"

He was here now too? A cold feeling settled in her stomach and, for once, hoped this Zack was from that other Gaia and not her own.

"I have not broached the subject with any of the others," Ashelia said. She would be lying if she said she hadn't thought of going on her own, though. "I had planned to ask a select few Heroes who I believe have proven themselves savvy enough for such an expedition." Father knew she wasn't going to be organizing anything near as large as the party that had accompanied her to find the seeds.

"Good! That's were all of the heroes are living during their stay here. You should head over there to meet your potential roommates. You know, get to know each other, set up your room, get settled! You'll be here a while so...eh," he squeaked out the last bit with a shrug.

"I'm planning on heading back home as well. Mind if we walk together?" He would have liked to chat some more with this pink-haired human, but having some sort of similar goal would do much better than standing around waiting for something to happen.

His eyes lit up at that moment. "And that something is back home? Does it need to be protected.?"

Granted it could only have been a matter of time before Zack would show up in the complication that was Sephiroth's coma-dream, that he still sternly had to remind himself about from time to time.

But that didn't make it any less jarring to see -but really was that-

Sephiroth couldn't tell that it was Zack Fair from the back of his head alone, but really there was no mistaking the profile of the newly promoted 1st Class SOLDIER -it was the scratch to the back of his head that did it- and he approached his comrade cautiously, alert to what signals the appearance of the man in his dream would be presenting to him. Zack, along with Angeal after all, had been one of the last people Sephiroth had seen before he'd ended up before the Crystal of Fire much like Zack was now.

"You're late."

At this point no one has warned him about Sephiroth being here. That's not until later. So when he heard the way too familiar voice, he spun around rather quickly.

That isn't the same Sephiroth he saw last at Nibelheim's reactor, that crazy 'talking to space alien mom' Sephiroth. The surprise is clearly evident on his face. Last he knew, Cloud had defeated the other 1st and stopped him from making off with Jenova's head. Oh gods, Zack is not going to be the one to talk about that.

"Yeah well, no one told me we were scheduled to have a mission on another world. Someone should look into that." Yes, go with that to cover the surprise from earlier. "It would be better than suddenly springing it on me like this."

He can't help but smile as a moogle started eating vigorously, it was nice to see someone else with a healthy appetite. Then someone came along to intervene. All Zack can do it stare.

Because if Genesis was female, he imagined she would look a lot like this woman. It was at this point that his head remembered Yuffie's words 'girl Gen' rung in his head.

Clearly from the shocked and silence from Zack she can easily see that this isn't the one from her world. That Zack probably need to stare at her face and then down before returning his gaze to her face.

"Genesis?"

"Sephiroth is...he wasn't always..." Evil, crazy, deranged are a few words that spring to mind. "Bad. Well, I guess we're all bad to you." But when she brought up Angeal he gave her a serious look. "Angeal is the best guy I've ever known. And Genesis isn't...too bad when there isn't weird stuff happening. He quoted Loveless at lot when I was around him." Zack shrugged. He wasn't really in the mood to try to explain degradation and all that came with it to Yuffie.

He made the unfortunate mistake of taking a drink of water when she said 'girl Gen', which is why he's now choking on it. "Did you say 'girl Gen'?"

Hope Yuffie doesn't mind him staring at her because he seriously can't believe those two words came out of her mouth in the same sentence.

It softened into a smile. "Yeah, likewise kid."

"They'll grow back. Even if there's not much else there." He isn't going to call Genesis on that. If Zack regretted that he couldn't save Angeal, who he'd only known for a short time then he can't imagine how Genesis must feel. The two had been best friends for most of their lives.

His moogle swooped in to grab some food that both of the people were avoiding, her Hero had ordered things that they could eat and she took advantage of that now.

"Honestly I don't think he cared for anyone. There might be a couple of individuals that caught his attention in his life but if someone better came along, he'd get rid of them." Sephiroth had probably been his pride and joy until he was defeated by Cloud. Now the Infantryman was his new little project.

That made him blink in surprise. "Really? Well, it's not like we have any goddess materia anyway. Not that you look like you need it." A nod of his head in Genesis's direction.

"Really? What are they like to you?" He peered over at her own moogle, trying to picture them any other way and he just couldn't. To him they'd always looked like this.

Definitely not on the wrong side. Zack would always be on the side of protecting and helping people when given the choice.

"Right! We definitely need to learn more about this place." An eager nod of his head.

She had already let go of Monty, still rather in shock. So they were all here now. And the fact that he looked down briefly answered the question of which Gaia he was from. She almost breathed a sigh of relief and, instead, ignored Monty going back to the food as she shrugged and nodded.

"Do I need to quote LOVELESS to prove it as well?" Not that she had to previously but it made her smirk a little at the thought.

Instantly he hands came up to wave it off. At least it was enough to break him out of the stunned zone he was stuck in.

"No thanks. I've heard it plenty of times," he said quickly. Between hearing it from his own world's Genesis and reading it on his vacation it still wasn't enough for him to understand any of it.

Genesis grinned wider at that and chucked. "I thought so."

Then, her smile softened and she crossed her arms. "I take it I am male in your world? I've already met the other Genesis."

She isn't sure what to tell this Zack though. She doesn't know all the differences yet, since the boys were still figuring out their own problems and she wisely stayed out of things.

Genesis had bought a new book from one of the bookstores, having found one that had a bit of fantasy in it to read about. She couldn't help but try to start reading it as she walked, glancing up every few sentences to make sure she wasn't going to run into anyone.

That is, until she missed someone and bumped right into a pink-haired woman, causing the book to tumble out of her hands and onto the ground. She clicked her tongue is annoyance before bending down to pick it up. "Apologies."

[The cheerfulness was clearly not appreciated as Akiha looked the girl over with an appraising eye.]

I am. What can you tell me of this place that my furry beast cannot?

[Though unimpressed, there was a possibility the girl could have some useful information.]

Akiha just gave Kris a scathing Look that made it all too clear that a couple minutes was too long. Especially when it came to the magician knowing she could teleport and tended to do so whenever she wanted.

"Do you think this is real or just another one of the Queen's games?"

If that was so, then at least they would still have one another. He had yet to meet very many people, and honestly he wasn't interested in getting to know them at this time. The boy was still wrapping his mind around the loss of two more friends of theirs, something he dared not mention to Shun. There was plenty Shun was dealing with already, he didn't need that on his shoulders as well.

And Satoru was getting ridiculously good at lying even to his closest friends, if it meant easing their own worries. Though he failed rather spectacularly when it came to Maria. Shun was the intellect of their group, Mamoru the heart, he the strength, Saki the leader, and Maria the caretaker. When they were younger he felt so confident because he had his friends by his side, and they could take on the world together. But the world fought back hard and now he had no idea what would happen in the future.

Even with Shun back in his arms, he couldn't rid himself of that feeling of fear and loneliness. Even if they made it home what was he going to do? What where they going to do in this world and why had they really been brought here? And could he even be sure he had his friend back? So many questions where lurking in the dark recesses of his mind.

But that was where they would stay, especially now.

Because despite not knowing where they stood, Satoru knew his own feelings. And he wanted to give Shun that release, to break, to cry, to scream...whatever it took to ease him of that darkness in his heart he had failed to notice before. If anyone was being selfish it was Satoru himself, for not being willing to divulge his own sorrow, but all too willing to take on his ex-boyfriends.

At the feeling of that trembling he pulled him in even closer, one hand moving up his back as the other remained securely around his waist. He remained like this, even as the sudden shout caught him off guard, his eyes turning towards the other boy, his eyebrows tensing, but not once even thinking about letting go or pulling away.

"Hm...?" He wasn't sure he really wanted to ask, but he felt a need to know. “What do you mean?” He whispered, barely audible to anyone other than the one he was speaking too.

Yuki looked on, glancing between his master and Shun before turning to Michiko in the hope that she had some answers or at least a hint of insight into the situation. It was obvious his new owner wasn’t upset in the negative way, but now the other boy was yelling and looked about to start crying again. “Kupoooo…” he murmured under his breath, the pom pom on top of his head lowering.

What can he do to help or should he even interfere?

As none of your cattle have made it into the city proper, you can take your presence to a more likely place to find them.

[Akiha isn't even bothering to give the cowboy more than half her attention, her words dismissive.]

Action changes things, girl. And frequently being upset motivates a person to act. Cause and effect.

"Does it really matter?"

The question was accompanied by a large hug. They were only apart a few minutes but it was a large travel across worlds, even if Akiha didn't think so. The mage was used to this kind of treatment so she, in fact, was pretty sure in what exactly had happened.

Ugh. Kris was hugging her. IN PUBLIC. Akiha put her arms up in an attempt to stop Kris, but she hadn't been fast enough.

"Get off me, you idiot," Akiha growled, bristling, before she managed to get her hands on Kris' shoulders and push her away. "And it does, because if this isn't the Garden, it makes me wonder why you're here with me."

"Why can't I hug you? Besides, I followed you here because I promised I'd always be with you. So don't think it's any part of any gardens."

Yeah, she made up that last part. But if anything, Kris was good at lying her ass off.

At least it was a lie Akiha wanted to hear, even if she wouldn't admit to it. Those words did at least get her to stop bristling and look away.

"You know how I feel about you doing some things where others can see."

Then why don't you act.

[It is confusing to watch her be upset and talk of action when she does nothing. Yeul wonders what action could be taken in a situation like this. From what she has heard it sounds like the only thing they can do is discover more about their fate. If this place had something in store for them it also probably also has a set of unknown rules.]
