Intro Log || The Night of the Thirteen Moogles

Characters: All the "Heroes of Light" (only new characters can start threads).
Where: Aqures Ixen.
When: The 5th of October. The new Heroes of Light will awaken early in the morning.
Summary: The new Heroes of Light awaken in Aqures Ixen and are informed by their assigned Moogles of what the situation and what their destinies are. This a log for them to react to the situation, meet each other and be welcomed by the former batches of Heroes of Light. New Heroes of Light will not have their Crystal.

Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.

At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:

"Wake up."

Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo," the call of the Moogle finally waking you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.

Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.

The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- Wait, you don't have a Crystal...? That's weird.

Your Moogle will be puzzled by this fact, as all Heroes of Light are supposed to have a crystal with them. Well, maybe you are not a Hero of Light after all?

The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world one or two months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers worthy of being revered as heroes. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.

If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.

The Night of the Thirteen Moogles
— Anytime —
Something that may be obvious, is that the city has a spooky feel to it. There are various decorations, it clearly looks like a work in progress but it seems the idea is to make the city looks as scary as possible. Characters familiar with Halloween may recognize the decoration as being strikingly similar. The Moogles will be more than pleased to explain these are all preparations for the upcoming Night of the Thirteen Moogles on the 31st, and they will explain the legends to characters if they ask.

Hopefully all this talk of curse and King Moggle Mog is nothing more than legend.

The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially with everyone excited for the upcoming celebration. Starting from 18:00, a series of BLitzball games will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing amateur teams in a friendly competition. At the same time, a small group of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!

Characters are also free to visit the city-- Be it Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, or the Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline, knowing the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th. Still, characters can board an exposition Airship should they like and visit it.

Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

She stopped walking for a moment when he asked. She already had to explain this holiday to her friends once before, so having to explain to another person wasn't that bad. So with a smile she was more than happy to explain.

"It's a holiday where little kids and of course adults usually dress up as spooky monsters like vampires, werewolves and the like and little kids go trick or treating for candy. It's kind of a huge thing where I'm from and it's fun, especially for scaring one another."

She gave a small nod. It was nice to meet others in the same boat as onesself, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel bad about that fact. They were in the same boat and were pretty much stuck there for now until further notice.

"It was nice meeting you." She said with a small bow before she started to make her way, heading off to at least looking into various things. Whatever happened she was going to try and figure it out.

She couldn't help but give a chuckle, it was pretty amusing after all. "No need to apologise, I get it completely really."

"My job, well I got told warrior was one of them, so I should really get something that suits that job, but I know little to nothing about anything to do with it. Would you happen to know more?"

"Huh?"

When the moogle motions to the table, Luffy nods his head slowly as he reluctantly picks up a plate of food to hand over to the fluttering creature.

"Y-Yeah. You can have this if you want. Or the veggies here. Yeah! You can have all the veggies at my table! They're gross but you can have 'em!"

He dips back towards his table, picking up a plate of picked through potatoes and onions.

"Here! If you're feeling sick, you should eat something! That way you'll stop yelling, too."

When the house opens up, it appears as nothing more than another of the cookie-cutter dwellings that had been given to the 'visitors' of the city, yet there was a woman's touch to the decor that denoted those dwelling inside were of a tribal-like background. The bright colors of green and pink adorn the walls in tapestries and carvings, the sort of accents that liven up the dull grey appearance of a dimly lit room without over using candles or paint.

It's welcoming, inviting, and cozy.

When Shun steps in, Link slowly closes the door behind them, crossing past his new friend and motioning for him to sit at the table in the center of the room.

"Feel free to relax. I'll get the stove top ready and we'll have hot soup in no time!"

For a lad who is notorious at over-sleeping, Link moves about with great haste to play the proper host to his house guest.

"Would you like anything to drink? I think we have some wine, there's always water, and there's this punch that Zelda picked up from the market I've yet to try."

"That'll happen." he says, not even winded. But they're just from two drastically different lifestyles. "The more you do it, you'll get used to it. You'll be able to go longer without getting winded." he affirms.

"Seems like thing's are goin' well fer everyone back on Mars. At least things 'er quiet," She says with a slight smile. "I guess tha barkeep can't use that Force Galactic ta get us back home can he?"

As nice as the barkeep was, he didn't do too much. He didn't want to upset that awesome wife of his. Still, if he realized that the ones who really protected Mars weren't there, he might actually do something. Red still wasn't happy.

"I ain't meet many others here yet," she said. Just because they were all called 'Heroes' didn't automatically make Red trust them.

MarKus would have had a curious horse to at least keep him company while he worked. Sparks comes out of the house to check on the work. "Great. Suppose I at least owe ya a drink or somethin'."

"I'm not... old enough to drink?" Was that a statement or a question?

"Uh... what MONTH is it even? And for that matter... Ugh, stupid time paradox shit." he grumbles. "I've never drank before, let's leave it at that." he says, though at least the sentiment is appreciated.

"I'll practice." She took a moment to look at the city around them before removing her hand from MarKus. "I should go. I need to find my home. Hibi said they have given us housing."

"I can do you one better, actually."

She motions a thumb over her shoulder, tilting her head to the side as she turns on her heels.

"Follow me. I'll lead the way. Most of the Heroes are living in the same area as one another, so you're one the way back home."

She drags in a long breath of air, the jarring motion of his grasp helping to snap her back to reality while her senses had rushed in a panic. She blinks once, twice, coming back to their conversation as she shakes her head with apology.

"S-Sorry. Just.."

There was no need to explain. Zack knew as well as she did that Sephiroth was, at least at the point where they had come from, now as fearsome as the worst, hate fueled nightmare.

Cloud. Cloud was fine. The man she'd pining for, longing for, waiting for, he was fine. It relieves her far more than the reassuring grip from the SOLDIER, which does offer a level of reprieve as well.

"Good. That's good to hear. So, he's here? But- he doesn't remember?"

Tifa had bumped into Yuffie in much the same way. While the young girl had looked like Yuffie and claimed to be from Wutai, there had been a difference in time and age in which the shinobi had not be introduced to AVALANCHE and Tifa. Could Cloud be in the same circumstance?

"He's.. Does he remember anything about you?"

"Lightning? Pleasure to meet you."

What was with her meeting all of these cold looking people who shared names with elements involved with weather? Electricity aside, the brawler nods her head once more in greeting before motioning to the direction of the Housing District.

"Home is here now, unfortunately. I can't say I've heard of Cocoon or Gran Pulse, so I guess we're on an even field in those regards. Seems like they've pulled people from all walks of life, even other worlds."

"Are ya? Okay, then... sarsaparilla or whatever the weird equivalent is here."" He shrugs. It's not that Sparks doesn't know the drinking age; supercop here already memorized most of the laws and statues in this city. But he didn't know how old MarKus was, and he had a point about that time paradox thing.

"Uh, not sure. Maybe we reset birthdays." He shrugs once again. It doesn't much matter to him. He never put much thought into his birthday anyway.

"So, I'm, like, officially recognized as a hero?"

Misfit cannot contain her excitement at this news. After all it's all she's wanted in life for the past few years.

"Yes. Yes. Yes. Is there like an official card of certificate I can get to prove to everyone else that I'm a hero? Oh I see you have a badge, where do I get one of those?"

Cloud frowned and crossed his arms. It was a decent enough question. His own world was seeing more and more people using guns instead of the weapons that seemed to be preferred here but there was still enough need that stores sold them.

"It depends on what you want to focus on. A sword and shield would be good if you want to be better defended. If you want to go for full offense maybe a two handed axe? Either way you'd want to invest in some durable armor that you can move well in."

He just shrugs. "I was supposed to turn 21 in November but... last I knew it was April." he explains.

"And I have no clue what that is... like, some old-timey shit, right?" Questioning the offer... well, at least the guy's trying to be hospitable. And he didn't wanna piss off someone who would be not just business, but he'd get to check out that mecha-horse too.

"Yer outta luck. Ya can only get this one by bein' the marshal 'a Mars. Ya can get this one--" He reaches into his pocket and brings out his police badge; "--by becomin' an Aqures Ixen police officer. Ain't as cool, though. Reckon yer a bit young for that anyway. Technically we ain't supposed to tell people we're the Heroes... Most of 'em don't believe it, anyway."

"If it is not out of your way, I would be most greatful, La...Tifa." He followed the brunette.

"It has been some time since I stayed in something other than an inn or a camp. I wonder what I am to do with a house," he mused, almost to himself. "I'd think it would be more efficient to establish a barracks for the Heroes, but I suppose the city expects us to earn our keep when this Calamity strikes."

"Ah, my apologies..." It wasn't that she was keeping secrets. It was just that -- being the only one that seemed to remember any details from the war... she didn't quite know how much to divulge. And worse, what if the heroes didn't want to know? Being left in one otherworld was bad enough, but to learn of more... well, Yuna almost felt like the bearer of bad news.

"There -- were a few times I saw you with a rose. I imagined that it meant something, or perhaps... was somehow nostalgic of your homeworld. Seeing you with that crystal reminded me of that, I suppose..." her voice trailed as she looked around them once more.

While Kid was sure that it wasn't a lack of food hat was triggering her episode of weakness... she did have to admit that most of everything wafting from the table smelled pretty good. Maybe she could just play it up for the sake of a free meal... "Mighty decent of ya, mate," she seemed to accept, taking the plate as Mopassa took one as well.

She moved towards a seat on the bench, next to where the young man had been sitting before their spat, and settled in, grabbing for a fork and, well, maybe just a small slab of that meat in the process. "Mighty decent for sure," she chomped down, apparently feeling much better. "What'd you say yer name was again?"

"That so? Hm," well she didn't seem too bothered about it, at least. "Guess you did mention somethin' about that, huh?" Kid shot her moogle a look as she raised a hand to pinch her chin gently while she considered the details. "Kupoooo..." came a defeated groan from poor Mopassa, who was getting the feeling he was going to be perpetually ignored.

"Well hey, you've been a pal Ramza. An' I admit I'm glad yer not mixed up with that big oaf, to tell ya the truth." She sighed, looking outwards to the crowds. "Guess now it's gonna be about findin' the blokes in charge."

"Luffy."

He sits besides her, keeping a polite distance from her while she eats. It was a shame to see food go, but at least it seemed to be helping. They seemed to be rather alike in those regards. Luffy can't put a number to the many times he's been low on energy due to a lack of sustenance.

While he might not be the best with common sense, or a keen mind when it came to picking up on social cues, Luffy could at least tell when he was in the company of someone with great purpose. From the look in her eyes, the tenacity of her personality, even down to how she eats and how she holds the fork, he can tell that this girl wasn't some average citizen in the city. Unfortunately for Kid, Luffy hated using the "H" word.

"You get in a fight or somethin'? You're pretty hungry."

She can't help but giggle at his almost slip-up of her name, turning around to face him as she snickers.

"The housing isn't the most glamorous of situations, but I can guarantee it's better than any barrack or encampment. I'm just happy to have a roof over my head, especially if this world is anything like back home. I don't know how much longer we have until we're in the dead of winter or worse."

Kupow flutters close behind her, punching at the air as he begins to shadow-box in mid flight.

"So, what are your friends like back home, Ramza? Is there a lady in your life? A childhood friend?"

"I know I can use armour at least, so finding something simple I guess is always a good start, right?" She said looking over to the other, she figured he was more of an expert than she was so getting help was always a good thing.

"Would it be alright to just use a sword though. The weapon I used in my world is similar to that." She figured to at least ask that as she wouldn't be sure of how to actually use any other kind of weapon.
