Where you were or what you were doing— It does not really matter. Not any more. Within an instant, the world around you collapses. Reality twists and shatters... Or maybe you are the one who is collapsing and shattering away from reality as you knew it. No matter what the answer is, it will only take a few seconds for you to find yourself sinking into a void, your world vanishing into the distance. There is nothing but darkness as far as the eye can see. Even you feel different: all the powers you might once have had, are now gone. It is silent, cold and it feels as though life itself is slipping out of you.
At this moment, when it looks as though nothing but a never-ending void awaits you, a red Crystal forms before you. In this void, its warmth compels you to grab it. Upon doing so, you can hear a soft, soothing voice speaking:
"Wake up."
Soon, the void itself vanishes and is replaced by distant noises of engines. Had it all been nothing more than a dream? The soothing voice repeats its call one more time, but is soon replaced with a much less graceful "Wake up Kupo," the call of the Moogle finally waking you up. But you are no longer in your world, nor in the void. You are before the Crystal of Fire, in the third district of a city called Aqures Ixen. At this point, you may realize the engine noise actually originates from an Airship flying low over the city and headed to the castle. As if it wasn't strange enough, your clothes have changed as well. They are now a reflection of the Jobs you are wielding. Last but not least, you are surrounded by Moogles, small and fluffy creatures who are more than happy to tell you about everything you want to know, about your 'destiny' as a Hero of Light, about what awaits you.
Or at least, they will tell you everything they do know, which isn't much in the end.
The only people around you are like you-- There are quite a few of them, all clothed in their Job garbs and most likely wondering what is happening. If somehow you do not realize it, the Moogle who woke you up will be more than happy to inform you there are others like you around. In fact, there are other Heroes who arrived these past months too and they will come soon! Like you, they had Jobs and a Crystal-- Wait, you don't have a Crystal...? That's weird.
Your Moogle will be puzzled by this fact, as all Heroes of Light are supposed to have a crystal with them. Well, maybe you are not a Hero of Light after all?
The Other Heroes
— Shortly Thereafter —
Thanks to the efficiency of Mognet, it does not take long for the other Heroes to come around: those who arrived in this world one or two months ago. You may have imagined heroic and charismatic figures when your Moogle told you that there were other Heroes of Light in this city. You may have imagined persons with fearsome powers worthy of being revered as heroes. And more importantly, you may have imagined them as people who would have all the answers to your, doubtlessly, numerous questions.
If so, you may be up for a minor disappointment. Still, for the most part they know more than you on the situation and may be more than happy to fill you in, especially if your Moogle didn't tell you much.
The Night of the Thirteen Moogles
— Anytime —
Something that may be obvious, is that the city has a spooky feel to it. There are various decorations, it clearly looks like a work in progress but it seems the idea is to make the city looks as scary as possible. Characters familiar with Halloween may recognize the decoration as being strikingly similar. The Moogles will be more than pleased to explain these are all preparations for the upcoming Night of the Thirteen Moogles on the 31st, and they will explain the legends to characters if they ask.
Hopefully all this talk of curse and King Moggle Mog is nothing more than legend.
The City of Aqures Ixen
— Anytime —
There are a lot of things left to do in the city, especially with everyone excited for the upcoming celebration. Starting from 18:00, a series of BLitzball games will take place at the stadium located in the tenth district, opposing amateur teams in a friendly competition. At the same time, a small group of Triple Triad players are playing before Mognet Office in the ninth district, and they are more than happy to teach the rule to anyone passing by. Characters are free to enter and play games of Triple Triad, and if they do so they will be given very basic cards and explained the rules. This may be the start of a promising career!
Characters are also free to visit the city-- Be it Mognet Office just behind the Triple Triad games is filled with very busy Moogles, or the Airship Port in the twelfth district from where characters can board for free Airships from Shoopuf Airline, knowing the next airship departing from Aqures Ixen will do so on the 9th. Still, characters can board an exposition Airship should they like and visit it.
Or maybe you could visit your new house in the 11th District, and get to know your new neighbors and housemate. Hopefully your neighbors are people you will get along with.

"But, but, Kid!" Mopassa the moogle trailed behind the fiery girl as best he could, but she seemed as though she was on a mission, pounding through the streets of the city with loud, meaningful steps. "I don't wanna hear it!" she bellowed, "I ain't no hero and I ain't got any intentions of stayin' here long enough to even find out what that means! You can't just go pluckin' people from their worlds when they got business to do!" Since joining up with Serge, the whole world hopping thing wasn't really that much of a surprise. In fact... none of this supernatural mumbo jumbo really surprised her anymore, and really, she just needed to focus on getting home.
But why... were her memories of what had just happened to fuzzy? "Kid? Kid!" she heard in the distance, the high-pitched voice of the moogle that followed her. What was that dull, aching pain in her abdomen about? She staggered slightly, losing a bit of her balance as she tried to think about it, and bumped into a nearby body, mumbling a "Sorry..." as she cupped her head in her hands.
→ aqures ixen (+ house A1 near the end).
"If you have a headache, maybe you should rest, kupo..." She didn't want to hear the moogle's advice, even if she knew that he was right. "There's housing and everything set up, so you don't have to worry abo--"
"What's up with all these games and stuff?!" she ignored his chirping, standing with her hands on her hips as she looked over some of the festivities going on. She couldn't have felt possibly less festive, knowing that her comrades were lost to her again, and she had found herself in unfamiliar territory. "This place is weird," she scrunched up her nose, as though she smelt something bad, then crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well, there's nothin' here for me right now, anyway. An' I've got a bloody awful headache, so I might as well go rest." Totally her own idea, and not dropped by Mopassa at all. She always had the best ideas, y'know.
Turning around with a frown on her lips, she set off in the direction of the housing district, wondering what kind of place it was going to be. "A1, huh? Well they obviously known someone's the best when they put 'em in the first of everythin' like that." And with that, she was off to the house to let herself in...
Other Heroes
"Are you well?" he asked, concerned. She certainly did not look it.

"Not from here either, huh?"

She seemed to be recovering, so he withdrew the hand that had steadied her, although he stood near enough that he could theoretically grab her if she fell.
"It is disorienting, being in a new world. If there is aught I can do to help you, I will," he offered.
no subject
She snorted at the next part, "Unless you've got a first class ticket outta this 'burg, I don't reckon there's much else you can do."

"Yeah, and uh -- good luck with that whole 'heroes' thing. All I know's that if there was a way in then there's gotta be a way out. Y'know a -- an angelus err-are-ee-arr or whatever."
no subject
"Very well, Kid. If you find a method for returning to your home, please share it before you depart. There are many here who would leave, were it possible." He did not warn her that it did not seem possible to leave until their quest was done. He doubted she would believe him anyways.

-Other Heroes
"Kid? Kid!"
He was used to being called out in such a fashion, so when he hears the nickname he can't help but turn around to see who might be calling out to him. His first response is to call out that he is, in fact, not a kid. His second reaction, which actually comes first, is to chew the large amount of meat that occupied his cheeks. While the pair of moogle and young woman are only within a few feet of where he sits, Luffy decides to respond even with a stuffed maw.
"MOFT MAWIN MEH MIDD!!" The moogle which sits to Luffy's right tugs at a similar slab of steak, looking rather cute as it tries to gnaw at the portion of food which easily dwarfs the short, fluttering creature. "MOENT MAWK MIFF MOE MOWF MULL, MAPTIN!"
no subject
With her face falling slightly, Kid quickly looked disturbed by the young man. "Oh my gawd..." she trailed off, "Chew yer food first for cripes sake!" she cried, directing her anger towards the young man instead.
no subject
"What's the big idea calling me a "kid"?! I'm not a kid! I'm a pirate!"
The moogle with him continues to take advantage of the preoccupied Captain, chewing hastily at the meat now being hugged by its tiny paws.
no subject
"This place is just full'uv winners, huh?" she muttered to herself, and perhaps her moogle too, shaking her head as she placed a gloved hand upon it.

The lad snorts, steam coming out of his nose as his disgruntled rage begins to boil. He isn't usually one to rise to anger, but when a good meal and food are being disrupted with an awful din, a happy pirate he is not.
Brushing his mouth on his arm, his bottom lip goes stiff as he lowers his eyebrows to such his discontent.
"Hmph-! I'm more of a winner then you'll ever be! Right, Pakku?"
The moogle is too busy trying to eviscerate the large helping of meat on its plate, the audible sound of lips smacking and tiny teeth trying to pull on its meal the only sound offered to support Luffy's claim.
".. Well, whatever! Noisy people shouldn't get in the way of trying to eat delicious food!"
no subject
"Hey no one asked you!" Great, now her cover had been blown. Why did this moose-le have to have such a big mouth? And it didn't look anything like a moose to begin with! "Look, just never mind!" she shot back in Luffy's direction again, spinning on her heel a little too fast, as her vision started to dim again thanks to the rush she felt in her head.
Reaching out to steady herself again, Kid missed, and staggered, wincing in the process.
no subject
Luffy reached out to try and catch the falling woman, putting his arms out so that he doesn't touch her but that if she needed something to hold on to his limbs would be there.
"You okay?"
He watches as she winces, unsure if he had anything to do with how off she looks.
"Sorry! I can get loud some times. Are you okay?"
no subject
"Maybe... she's hungry, kupo..." Mopasa floated out from behind Kid, circling her with a worried look, then casting his gaze over towards Luffy's table. "It seems like you have more than enough to share kupo... right sir?

Zelda figured to start with what she knew.

"Well thanks anyway, I guess," she started to walk away, when she remembered something else. "Say, one more thing... you wouldn't happen to know where we're supposed to pick up these crystals from, eh?"

"Kupopo..." Mopassa groaned, "if you'd only listen..." he covered his head with his paws, even though they both knew that Kid wouldn't really bop him one...
"Aw well," she sighed, crossing her arms over her chest. "I guess if most everyone's got 'em anyway, they're probably not worth much. Hey," she shifted her weight again, once more turned Zelda's way, "you been here long, or what?"
no subject
Zelda gave her a warm smile. "You should probably listen to your moogle. They don't know much but they are willing to lend us a hand."
no subject
"Two months, yeesh... That lazy Serge is gonna be lost without me if it takes longer'n that..." she tapped her foot, thinking about all the things that had happened back home. And why had Serge, at that last moment taken her dagger...
"How 'bout the housing? As far as I get, we've all got our own digs, right?"
