[ This time she did turn to face him. ]
If the Calamity does consume this world, then it shall consume all others. Then what will happen?
no subject
Why would you want it to consume all worlds? Just to end all existence- it doesn't seem to have any reason.
[Unless- Suddenly, sharp as ever he remembers for a moment what a certain little girl had shown him. Perhaps after going through all of the darkness and despair the Calamity would leave in it's wake...]
You think that something good is going to come out of all of this?
no subject
[It sounded like something evident to her, but she shared it with Sephiroth.]
From our limited point of view, everything would be lost, but the truth couldn't be any worse. All of existence will not be lost, it will be contained within the Calamity. The Calamity, or rather God by then, will be able to create a new world. All the lives and worlds will not be lost-- They shall be reborn in a new world.
no subject
It's impossible, given the strain from the battle, to keep the fact that he did connect with her, from his face entirely. But Sephiroth still makes the effort to.]
...but you don't know that. What's to stop it endlessly repeating; your new world won't be new for long.
no subject
Ah, Sephiroth. If only you were to remain this capable of critical thinking in the future, maybe you could become God.
no subject
[He tries to keep the emphasis from his tone, but it slips through particularly on the word 'not' in this instance.]
Chances are it's all just part of an even bigger cycle; isn't that the very truth of life? Life is always reborn, you seek to change nothing.
no subject
You are that man, much the same way I was that woman twenty-eight years ago-- I just didn't know it yet.
no subject
It doesn't matter...[He tries to form words carefully; even if they feel a little hollow.]
Doesn't that give a reason not to simply follow the path now before you?
no subject
[She turns back to Sephiroth and shakes her head.]
One of us here is running away and avoiding the harsh reality. How does it not matter?
no subject
[He wants for that statement to be true so much, yet despite the advise and support he's had from the other Heroes there will always be a small voice that might whisper of inevitability.]
What do you stand to gain, from all of this?
no subject
[With that said, Kalki will go silent.]
no subject
[Silent she might remain, Sephiroth has to get the last word in. Never mind that he doesn't rightly know all of the ins-and-outs of his own future. Only glimpses into a mind which had shut him out with all the force of the God it puffed itself up as.]
Did he- [He refrains from referring to his doppelganger as 'I'- but the question is on his mind so he presses it.] -know you, before?
no subject
[She nodded.]
As a matter of fact, I think very highly of him. He nearly accomplished what I hope for one of you to eventually do.
no subject
[He looks pointedly away, off to the floor to the one side as he drags his thoughts over the jagged edge of considering his future self. What he had managed to glean were only the central facts but-]
...taking over the will of the Calamity?
[Lets keep it about relevant topics; he doesn't need to go down the twisted way of thinking that he grows to believe that the world owes him a godhood.]
