Hers? This Calamity is some sort of person now?

[Things begin to click into place, at least as far as Kidd's knowledge and experience.]

This Calamity. Is it some sort of precursor? Someone from some race that came before?

The Calamity is an entity born from the Ancient's mistakes.

A piece of Eden then, or something akin to it. What is the purpose of the Calamity? To turn everything to crystal? And then what? Or is that just what's left behind?

The Calamity has no purpose. As I said it is a mistake, something the Ancients never expected to happen. All it wants is to be whole again.

So did the Ancients create it? Or was it something before this...mistake?

[There's just something about the words Kalki is using that makes her wonder if there is a person at the core of it. What she's describing doesn't seem to be mindless at least.]

They created it without meaning to and were destroyed by it. I suppose, that some would call the creation of the Calamity justice.
