[Her fists clench, brows knitting together. As everyone stays refined and regal, the young Al Bhed grows agitated. Though there is more dismay in her words than anger.]

Who cares about if we are or not some stupid heroes! This isn't about us! Does it take a hero to want to help people? Just a basic good person does that!

[A gloved index finger points in an accusing gestures at the silver haired man, sitting despondently while people die screaming outside.]

You want to sit around and let Kalki, of all the terrible people - get to tell us how fate works! I'm not gonna do that! That would be stupid! Do you have brains in your head?! That's exactly what she wants to do - leave you defeated in this useless pile. You think she knows how the whole universe works or are you gonna take charge of your own life? What matters is there are people outside, getting hurt right now! We have to try! And even if we can't stop this thing -- if it's too big for us to manage, they are crying for help. If all we can do is save them a few moments of suffering, it's still worth fighting for!

[She folds her arms, ears flicking. She doesn't understand it- that they shouldn't try, even if the words sound reasonable enough.

To be Heroes… what does that mean, exactly? For her part, K'pandolu wonders whether she deserves her title- the Warriors of Light are gone, vanished by whatever power- but the others have addressed her so, including Hydaelyn herself…

She spreads one hand, leaning forward slightly.]

If there is proof to be had, it is in our deeds. […other than that, Rikku's about covered it.]

[Rikku is leveled with a direct gaze as she starts to point accusingly at him. He blinks intermittently as she continues with her rant, the slight raising together of his eyebrows the only tell that any of what she's saying is actually getting through to him.

Truth is, more is than he'll ever let on outwardly. Kalki has indeed demonstrated that she knows a hell of a lot more about him than he really knows about himself. For all they know, she may well know the secrets of the whole universe, or at least enough about it when compared to them to really make a difference. How are they supposed to compete against her much wider-scope of a vision. He'd stumbled...even considered that her way to resolve it might well be the only way...that she was right and if that were the case whatever carnage they'd see out there would only reinforce the fact.]

Is it?

[Sephiroth ask Rikku directly, continuing to hold a steady, un-moving tone to his voice even if his eyes are starting to reflect just a drop more of his inner turmoil than he wants to broadcast outward. A brief glance to K'pandolu breaks the tension momentarily.]

They're all going to die out there once that thing blows. Monsters, civilians...who knows about us.

( her gaze fell at his words, unable to keep keep with his as he spoke. for yuna, it didn't matter that it couldn't be changed. she followed the same path as the fallen summoners had, each of them reaching the end of their journeys... just as she would reach hers.

it was different, and yet so the same. a conclusion that couldn't be altered... but with each new cycle, hope. )
Don't say it isn't worth it.

If, somehow being here now, hearing what these people have to say, seeing what they're going through... trying to help them.... ( she drew in a breath, closing her eyes and pressing a hand against her collar bone ) If we could even learn one small thing to prevent a catastrophe like this from happening again, then, well... ( it was okay if she was being used, then. she'd go through it over and over if she had to, and when she opened her eyes, her checkered gaze said just as much with their gleam. )

Seeing and experiencing what's happening here for ourselves -- that might just be the best way to break free from being used.

[The young thief presses her lips together when she catches that telltale hint in the man's eyes, her eyesbrows creasing downwards with concern. When she thought about it, his mannerisms reminded her a little of the despondent, strange ways people acted after a Sin attack.

He wasn't acting right, she knew Sephiroth was a good man that cared about people. She shouldn't be pushing him to fight when he was like this...but, it could mean so many lives.

Glance drifting to her cousin, Rikku can hardly believe what she hears. Yuna...talked like fate was sealed too. She didn't understand, there was only one thing the Summoner talked about in that type of mannerism. Anything else, impossible things - Rikku had watched her tackle fearlessly with unwavering resolve...Why?

She addressed the man sitting before her, who normally stood towering above.]

It's worth it, to protect people ...it's always worth fighting -- No matter what.

I'm not gonna let this monster tell me how the world works. No matter how many times she knocks me down, I'm getting back up...she almost broke me. You know that, better than almost anyone.

[With a small gesture she indicates the abandoned building around them.]

What about you? You're in a church...and Kalki is deranged. Will you fight, or will you make her your god here?

All she has ever done is show me that what I refused to see. Regardless of the fact it was right under my nose.

[He's not talking to anyone specific now, in fact his eye contact has dropped from all of them and Sephiroth seems to be inspecting the tiles that make up the floor. The bitter implication is, even though Rikku and Yuna might have been brutally tortured at the hands of Kalki; perhaps they still hadn't seen what she had intended for them to see.

Though, most likely, this is Sephiroth's heroism that's been sucked dry and he's just the tired husk of the man he was before. Too much, too fast. The old adage repeats over and over in his head almost as if he could hear Lazard trying to scold him.]

She is no God. Of that I am quite certain.

[A hint of anger there, the girls may have begun to start getting on his nerves.]
