( her gaze fell at his words, unable to keep keep with his as he spoke. for yuna, it didn't matter that it couldn't be changed. she followed the same path as the fallen summoners had, each of them reaching the end of their journeys... just as she would reach hers.

it was different, and yet so the same. a conclusion that couldn't be altered... but with each new cycle, hope. )
Don't say it isn't worth it.

If, somehow being here now, hearing what these people have to say, seeing what they're going through... trying to help them.... ( she drew in a breath, closing her eyes and pressing a hand against her collar bone ) If we could even learn one small thing to prevent a catastrophe like this from happening again, then, well... ( it was okay if she was being used, then. she'd go through it over and over if she had to, and when she opened her eyes, her checkered gaze said just as much with their gleam. )

Seeing and experiencing what's happening here for ourselves -- that might just be the best way to break free from being used.

[The young thief presses her lips together when she catches that telltale hint in the man's eyes, her eyesbrows creasing downwards with concern. When she thought about it, his mannerisms reminded her a little of the despondent, strange ways people acted after a Sin attack.

He wasn't acting right, she knew Sephiroth was a good man that cared about people. She shouldn't be pushing him to fight when he was like this...but, it could mean so many lives.

Glance drifting to her cousin, Rikku can hardly believe what she hears. Yuna...talked like fate was sealed too. She didn't understand, there was only one thing the Summoner talked about in that type of mannerism. Anything else, impossible things - Rikku had watched her tackle fearlessly with unwavering resolve...Why?

She addressed the man sitting before her, who normally stood towering above.]

It's worth it, to protect people ...it's always worth fighting -- No matter what.

I'm not gonna let this monster tell me how the world works. No matter how many times she knocks me down, I'm getting back up...she almost broke me. You know that, better than almost anyone.

[With a small gesture she indicates the abandoned building around them.]

What about you? You're in a church...and Kalki is deranged. Will you fight, or will you make her your god here?

All she has ever done is show me that what I refused to see. Regardless of the fact it was right under my nose.

[He's not talking to anyone specific now, in fact his eye contact has dropped from all of them and Sephiroth seems to be inspecting the tiles that make up the floor. The bitter implication is, even though Rikku and Yuna might have been brutally tortured at the hands of Kalki; perhaps they still hadn't seen what she had intended for them to see.

Though, most likely, this is Sephiroth's heroism that's been sucked dry and he's just the tired husk of the man he was before. Too much, too fast. The old adage repeats over and over in his head almost as if he could hear Lazard trying to scold him.]

She is no God. Of that I am quite certain.

[A hint of anger there, the girls may have begun to start getting on his nerves.]
