Even though the tough times it's best to try and have the good.

Who: Fai D. Flourite and AU!Yuna
What: During the downtimes of building Fai drags Yuna away for a romantic date... or as romantic as one can be currently.
Where: At a random spot in the city and another secret spot.
When: August 26th
Warnings: Cuteness

[Today had been another busy day and Fai had been doing the best he could to help, but even with him they didn't manage as much. After all they had to work from the ground up, which he knew would take a while. But with the work done for the day and the sun slowly starting to set, Fai decided to go pay a visit to a certain someone and see if she had the time. he had things prepared, all he needed now was her.

Making his way over he could see her, working hard as per usual. A smile was firm on his face as he slowly started to make his way behind her, hoping to catch her by surprise and when he was close enough he wrapped his arms around her so that his hands were in front of her face.]

[Yuna's gaze lingers on the stars before turning back towards Fai. He is one of few who could probably surprise her with the things he's seen though she isn't going to pry.]

Do you? [She isn't surprised if he caught on to her plan.

As he continues her cheeks flush a bright rosy pink.] Um.. what isn't cute? You mean about me?

[He nodded slightly, glancing up at the stars as they walked. It seemed peaceful and nice. Something they all needed right about now. He did have some idea about her plan and he didn't mind either, it was a nice place after all.]

Yes. There are plenty of cute things about you, I can't think of something that isn't. Not a bad thing either if I am honest.

[Yuna is used to compliments though his comment makes her laugh softly.]

That's really nice of you to say Fai. I don't know how true that is. I have just as many faults as others.

[Her mismatched gaze looks up at the stars, her steps taking her a little closer to Fai's side as they walk hand in hand. As time and distance passed the ranch and the cliff slowly came into view.]

I know, I have many, many faults myself. However if one can see those faults and still like you even with them, then isn't that a good thing? No matter what I'll still like you.

[He could see the cliff and knew it wasn't going to take them long. When they got to the spot he stopped walking and moved to let go of her hand so he could sit down for the moment. Once he was settled he patted the ground next to him for her to sit down.]

I think so.

[She smiles and is grateful that the slight tint to her cheeks is almost hidden in the moonlight.

Yuna watches Fai take a seat, her eyes pulled away from the beautiful setting in front of them. She sits down next to him settling close enough to feel her arm brush lightly against his.]

So what do you think?

[She looks up at him with a smile, her hand gesturing towards the scene in front of them. She could hear the water crashing against the shore below as the light from the moon glints of the turning seas.]

What do I think of the view or the place itself? I assume the view in which case it's beautiful at night. It's nice during the day it's nothing compared to this.

[His arm slowly moved up until it reached over to her shoulder, pulling her in slightly so she was up against him. Even if for a moment it was silent and he could take the sights and sounds it and he wouldn't mind it since she was there. It was still strange to have someone he cared about that much, but as he used the moment to think about it, it was a nice feeling to have. One he wouldn't want to change anyway. Holding her close still he rested his head on top of hers.]

What are your thoughts on the view?

[Her gaze is on the sky as he responses each word widening her smile by the smallest fraction. Yuna leans against him, her head resting comfortably on his shoulder.]

It's nice to share it with you.

[Yuna's voice is soft complimenting the ambient noises around them: the crashing of the waves against the cliff side, the humming of bugs and the soft rustle of the breeze over their perch above the sea.]

It's really pretty.

And I'm glad you did.

[He was taking note in his mind at the stares and how they were positions to see if they matched up with any other place he had been to, but none really sprung to mind, which in his mind meant nothing he already knew would be here even star wise. He also took note of a few others things as well, such as coming back here someday again. For now though he just held her close and looked up at the twinkling stars.]

I hope this wasn't a bad date. I mean for me it was nice... You can tell though I don't really have a clue about this whole dating thing.

[At least for someone he actually liked. When he faked how he felt it was a different matter.]

[Yuna shakes her head slowly, her eyes falling close as a smile continues to pull at her lips.]

It was perfect because it was with you. [Her cheeks tint a light red as she spoke. It's a little embarrassing to say but she wants him to know. The feeling that bubbles in her chest when he's near, the strength and weakness she feels around him. She can't explain it as anything other than what it is but for now she'll keep the frantic fluttering of her heart to herself.]

[She doesn't really expect him to be nervous or unsure about what a date is. He can always ask Celes. Yuna knows that her moogle goes on many dates.]

[He couldn't help but smile. He was glad that it was perfect in her eyes because that was just the way he wanted it to be. Then again even if it went horribly wrong, for him it still would have been okay. It was a strange thought, but one he was sure he would want to keep thinking.]

I thought it was perfect as well.

[He moved his head so he was looking at the top of her head. His heart beating faster as his shifted his body slightly before using his free hand to lightly touch the bottom of her chin to move her head.]

But the reason it was perfect is because your perfect to me.

[Yuna's cheeks flush as his fingers slowly move her head. Just the light pressure of his finger tips sends thrills down her spine. It's different than anything she has felt before as if each moment with him built upon the next.]

Fai?

[She isn't perfect but knowing that he thought so brought butterflies to her chest. Her lips suddenly feel dry as her eyes lock with his.]

[His smile was soft and his heart was pounding faster than he sure was possible. He had never felt this nervous before and all over one person. But this seemed like the perfect time at least. Things were peaceful and it was just the two of them. Nothing could spoil it, right?

It wasn't like this was his first time, but yet this time it was different. It was to someone he cared about the most here. Leaning in slightly his fingers still under her chin his lips soon lightly touched hers.]

[ The night quiets as he leans forward as if the symphony of sound around them is drowned out by the wild beatings of their hearts. Like a bird trying to break from of its cage, Yuna can feel the drumming in her chest with each small change. His breath brushes against her cheek moments before their lips met.

Then it is as if time stands still.

Warmth licks up her spine as tendrils of heat thrill out to her fingertips. A complete feeling settles in her stomach and her heart begins to regain its usual tempo. It’s a giddy feeling though it’s different from any other kiss she’s had in the past. It’s with Fai and in that moment she realizes the depth of her affection for the man who now held her intimately against him. Yuna leans into his kiss, her hand slowly reaching out, fingertips brushing against his neck before lightly cupping his cheek. Her own cheeks are flushed a bright red but Yuna isn’t focused on that. She is focused on the warm of his lips, the drumming of her heart; she’s focused on Fai as if the world around them had vanished into the night.

It’s a singular moment in time and yet she never wanted it to end.]

[He could feel her hand upon his cheek and as there lips parted he wished it could go on, but they had to break at some time. With a warm smile, but even though it had ended, he still could feel it and it still felt nice.]

I think that was probably the perfect way to end this night. Although I'm not sure I want it to end just yet.

[Her eyes slowly open, a warm smile spreading across her lips as she pulls away. She stays close to him, not wanting to dislodge from his side and her hand stays at his cheek, her fingers lightly shifting along his jaw.]

I don’t think I want it to end either.

[Plus they have to walk back… eventually.]

[He knew it would have to end, but even so that would still take a while. So for the time being he was just going to, hold her close and look up at the stars once more for at least a good five minutes before he moved slightly.]

I best walk you home.

[She lets out a slow breath and then laughs softly. She knew that this moment in the night was coming but it's still sad to see it here.]

I guess I won't be able to walk you home then?

[He had moved to stand up on his feet before turning to hold his hand out. He wished it couldn't end, but he knew that it had to at some point.]

Not this time, no.

[She takes his hand with a smile.]

One day.

[Yuna has patience.

She smiles at him, keeping their hands together as they make their way back. It feels so much shorter than the walk up there but she supposed it is because she doesn't want it to end.]

And maybe one day we won't need to walk each other home.

[Though he had no idea if that would ever happen, but it was a nice thought at least as he wished that it wouldn't end this soon, but he could see the building from the distance and knew it was getting closer and closer.]

[Yuna's cheeks dusted a light red at his comment. She's never had a relationship that's gone past the first kiss. He's always disappeared before that and a part of her heart dreads that with Fai.]

Maybe. Would that count as me finally walking you home?

[She vales her embarrassment with a joke.]

I guess so, though in that case...we would be walking each other home.

[Though he knew that wouldn't be for a while mostly because things still needed to be rebuild and there wasn't many places anyway. He didn't mind it taking time anyway if only for his own reasons. He could see the door getting closer and when they were right by it he stopped walking, turning to face her with a smile.]

Here we go, your home safe and sound now.

[Yuna smiles at the thought. It would take some time and a small part of her hopes that they are here when that time comes. She doesn't think she fits in her own world anymore and Fai has journey to complete once he's free of Crystallis.]

I still think it counts.

[She won't voice her thoughts but enjoy the moments they have, the feelings of her hand in his and the pleasure of his company. Even just for this moment, it's perfect.

Yuna glances up at the house and then looks up at Fai.] Looks like it... I wish...

[She pauses feeling a nervous smile on her lips.]

...this wouldn't have to end.

[She knows it's just a single night and there are most certainly days to come but it's been so wonderful.]

You wish what?

[He had turned to face her quietly for a moment, wondering what the rest of the sentence was and when he heard it, he just gave a small smile.]

As much as we don't want it to end, it has to somehow, or just has to is probably the right word for it.

I guess so.

[Yuna smiles before looking over towards her front door. The feeling is still there but it's comforting to know that he shares it with her.]

I'll see you then.
