Watch your step

Characters: Miles Edgeworth & Morgan
Where: In front of house B-12!
When: Early Semptember
Summary: Morgan finally succeeds in catching somebody in one of his traps, and Edgeworth meets one of his new roommates.
Warnings: None!

If making traps were an art, Morgan would be his world's equivalent of Picasso.

That's what he thought of himself, anyway. He had put a lot of effort into his traps over the past few months, and he felt that they were steadily improving. Of course, he still hadn't won against the one person that truly mattered: his mother.

Today would be different. Back home, even when he'd managed to make immaculate traps, his behavior had given him away. But he'd been practicing being subtle, and with both a perfect poker face and a perfectly constructed pitfall, Robin didn't stand a chance. This would be his victory.

Sure, he felt a little guilty for not properly marking the trap. It would certainly fool anybody who wasn't Robin. But it wasn't like they had any roommates, and it wasn't going to be unprotected for that long, either. Besides, a sign would have given it away immediately! He wasn't going to waste his hard work.

It was likely that Robin would be home soon, and so Morgan was waiting patiently in his hiding place. Unfortunately, it didn't have great visibility, but it was close enough that he'd be able to hear when someone fell into the trap.

[ Edgeworth likes to think that he's perceptive, but even he isn't able to notice things that are cleverly hidden from view.

But maybe he ought to have expected this, because if there's one thing he'd learned is that life seems to hate him. ]

NGHOOOOOOH--

[ On the bright side, the pitfall wasn't too deep. Deep enough for it to have hurt upon landing, yes, but at least he wasn't dead. His moogle didn't fall down with him, and was asking him whether he was alright in a very panicky voice. ]

Ugh-- who on Earth could've done this? [ How did the legal system here work; maybe he'd be able to sue them. ]
