Kidd watched the alleyway closely, listening to the sound of the men chasing after them. She was mostly sure she'd gotten the timing right but she'd only seen this once before. Usually she took a different escape route but this time she was on her own.

Just as the men started to come into view, a door next to the duo slammed open. A large man in a bloody apron walked out, carrying a pail full of meat scraps. He took a few feet into the alleyway before scattering them for the local stray cats and dogs.

"This way!" She grabbed Jack's hand and pulled him into the back of the butcher shop before the owner could notice them.
