He didn't feel all that strong. Currently it still felt as if he were 10 years old again and this was the aftermath of a great tantrum, a blow up over the very simple fact that life didn't always go the way that he wanted it to. He felt selfish over it, and having brought Terra down to his level wasn't acceptable at all. His issues were his own and while they did need to be worked through, he wasn't comfortable at all with the notion of taking help to heal with.
For some reason though, she was still holding his hand, still comforting him when he didn't really feel like he deserved it...she hadn't turned away and just left him to it. Almost as if he couldn't believe that, he looked down between them and inspected how their hands were still joined and forced his other one to release where it was almost clinging to her wrist.
"We were, before." Sephiroth swallowed and tried to control how deep his conscious thoughts might be drawn back into those memories. He didn't want to end up crying over that he couldn't change now...not that many of the reasons for this burst hadn't been borne of similar facts.
"Genesis and Angeal were the only ones I'd ever let myself become anything close to friends with." The attempt to further explain settled in the back of his throat as he rose his eyes to connect with Terra's again. Those blue eyes shining with a strength he had never seen before guided him to expand his comment.
"Until Genesis took a small army and defected from Shinra. Angeal followed, with the intention to remain at least partly neutral but it all spiraled out of control...the truth, destroyed everything."
Truth that he now knew, that he didn't feel that he could keep from Terra anymore.
