House Mates?

Characters: Selen, Minato Arisato, Scrooge McDuck, Zelos Wilder,
Where: B-06; their home
When: Sometime Shortly after the intros of the new Heroes of Light
Summary: House mate shenanigans!

Selen was happily watering her plants that she had bought from Terra as they seemed to have grown nicely. Of course, she had yet to officially meet the rest of her house mates. Selen wasn't around when they settled in, and when she returned, they were mostly asleep or doing their own thing. The house in appearance was rather clean and neat. Selen spent a good amount of her time organizing things here and there.

The plants brightened up the atmosphere of the room and small decorations were also placed around the home as well. There was nothing short of welcoming in this home. She had already managed to turn on the stove and started with the morning's meals for however many people that were living here-- if there were any to begin with. She was always by herself, but maybe today it might be different.

Zelos had spent most of his time since arriving exploring Crystallis, so he hadn't really gotten a chance to spend time at the house. He wasn't even sure if he had roommates, although the flowers should have been some indication that he wasn't alone.

But when he arrived home one morning, the smell of something cooking alerted him to another presence in the house. He casually approached the kitchen, leaning in through the doorway.

"Hey, is that food?"

Scrooge returned to the house after his morning walk, with an used newspaper in a hand and a pile of Gil in the other. People were so neglectful, it was amazing the amount of money you could find just by looking down. And why buy a newspaper when you can pick up the ones people throw away?

He frowned however upon smelling the food and turned to his Moogle.

"I-I already told you Mr. McDuck, there are others living in this house...!"

"Hmpf. So long as they do the cooking and don't meddle in my affairs, all is fine." He headed to where the smell of the food came from, but froze in this tracks when he spotted the young idiot from before. That wouldn't do, squatters were one of the things he couldn't bear. "... What are you doing here? Get out right now."

As Scrooge entered the house, Zelos shot him a look that was a mix between mild panic and outright annoyance. Oh, there was no way. All the heroes in Crystallis, and he had to be stuck with the stupid duck.

He turned to respond to Selen, refusing to make any more note of Scrooge's presence. "Yep, I'm your new housemate, the Great Zelos. But you, my fair maiden, are welcome to call me anything you like."

And Scrooge was welcome to call him nothing, as he was going to do his best to pretend that he wasn't living with poultry.

"Hmpf. A young and brainless neophyte."

Since Zelos was so kind as to let people call him whatever they want, Neophyte would be his name from now on. With that out of the way, Scrooge turned to Selen. He couldn't tell whether Zelos was always this ridiculous when speaking to people, or if he happened to know her. Probably the former.

"My name is Scrooge McDuck and the moogle told me this house is where I can sleep for free. If we are to live here, I will take the room further from this individual, the one with a single bed."

... Is this the time when he should go and say, "I'm home"? Probably not appropriate, until he's properly moved in. As far as first impressions went, the house looked fine from the outside, he didn't need a lot to be happy, he just hoped the bed was comfortable--so that would make itself apparent soon as he found the room where he'd be sleeping. And eh, if not, he'd make do. Minato's an adaptive sort of teenager.

He spent a little too much time wandering around, he ended up dozing off somewhere else instead of actually making it home. Oops. A stranger seemed to have brought him into the inn during that, and when he awoke, it was now the time to find his proper address. With two knocks of the door, Minato waited outside. He's not of a JRPG that barges into homes unannounced.

"... Selen-san. Um I got directions. I think... We're housemates?"

Huh, this was a surprise. Maybe it could even be dare said a pleasant one, given she actually gave him food... this might be borderline stray animal logic here, but please forgive him for not being very socially experienced. Minato cleared his throat, trying to gather his thoughts in a more coherent way. Truth be told, he was still a little dazed, but then again that was his usual state.

Though he woke up kinda late, he did know the Heroes seemed to come in batches. Might as well check if he's in for any other surprises.

"Are there others I have to meet?"

It was Mr McDuck, but he didn't feel like correcting people. Not now that he was realizing what hell this house promised to be. Why hadn't been assigned to an empty house. Well, at least maybe these two could take care of the cooking, that would be something less for him to pay.

When Selen left, Scrooge looked around the room for a moment, ignored Zelos' existence and instead headed for a sofa the living room. Passing by the door, he spotted Selen and Minato speaking.

"Welcome lad." Hopefully a talking duck wasn't too weird. "I am Scrooge McDuck. There is another in the house, I'll let her introduce him to you."

As if he'd take the time to introduce Zelos. With that said, Scrooge took a step back and searched for the economy page in his newspaper. If truly the economy of this place was in shamble, he didn't have time to waste.
