It's finally here. The night that will either springboard new relationships, kill wallets, or maybe both at the same time. Even though Saori maybe still be a bit salty at Brigid for signing her up to her crazy idea, she had to give the Moogle some credit. The enthusiastic fuzz ball of a shipper on deck managed to get a good chunk of both Heroes and Moogles rather hyped about this date auction. Not to mention quite handful of them were all to happy to help with preparations.

[Anise had expected to see any number of things at the date auction, but Jade on the bidding list was not one of them. There's a part of her that knows she should leave well enough alone, but that part apparently took the night off. Her curiousity about the matter was too great.]

[When she sees Jade loitering around the snack table, she'll approach as inconspicuously as she can. Her expression is somewhere between curious and trolling, and it's not hard to see how quickly this could go badly.]

Wow, Colonel, I never knew you were such a romantic!

[There were probably more romantic things than date auctions, but she didn't care. Why was he here? Did he lose a bet? Was he trying to lure our innocent victims and drink their blood? Did Peony somehow come to Crystallis without her hearing about it?]

[There was a reason, and she would find it.]

[Jade sighs quietly to himself when he spots Anise approaching. It's clear he's not going to get any sympathy here.

Well. She's certainly not getting a straight answer immediately. Some things you have to work for.]

But of course. I am a sensitive soul, as you should well know.

[It's true. His instinct for finding victims is very sensitive.]

[Anise can't help but smirk. Oh, that was a lie. That was just as much a lie as the "crying on the inside, racked with guilt" bit had been.]

[But she was determined, and she wasn't going to let him off so easily. She had to find out what his angle was.]

[And Jade's distraction works like a charm. Anise knew that there were some people with money in Crystallis, but she didn't think anybody who had a reasonable amount of wealth and/or self respect would sign up for this (she still wasn't sure about Jade).]
