It's finally here. The night that will either springboard new relationships, kill wallets, or maybe both at the same time. Even though Saori maybe still be a bit salty at Brigid for signing her up to her crazy idea, she had to give the Moogle some credit. The enthusiastic fuzz ball of a shipper on deck managed to get a good chunk of both Heroes and Moogles rather hyped about this date auction. Not to mention quite handful of them were all to happy to help with preparations.

[Reno blinked, obviously surprised at the attention from Sheena. But in the end, he smiled. It was nostalgic, having her bid on him at a date auction -- again. And she was a more welcome date than mischievous Yuffie.]

[He and Sheena had a lot to catch up on, after all. Mostly Sheena.]

[ And in the end, Sheena won. She really hadn't expected it, considering Yuffie's enthusiasm, but there Sheena was, holding on to the paper that declared her the winner.

She had no clue what she was supposed to do now and it showed as she looked up at him, totally confused, the question "what now?" clear in her expression. ]

[Reno smiled at the surprised ninja before him.]

Congratulations, I guess.

[shinra_dog]

[Reno stepped down off the stage with a sheepish grin.]

Didn't expect you t' bid on me.

But, uh, thanks. [He admitted quietly,] I'm not sure what I woulda' done on a date with Yuffie.

[ And her smile--what there was of it--was more embarrassed than sheepish. ]

Oh? You didn't? Why?

[ She looked towards Yuffie, who really didn't seem to mind being outbid at all. ]

What's wrong with Yuffie?

Well... [Reno shrugged, not sure how to say it.] I mean, c'mon. I have a bunch a' memories of a whole other life with you, I... scared the shit outta you when I got here...

[He shrugged again.] Just... y'know. Thought that was kind of a turn-off? [He smiled softly.]

Yuffie... That's also complicated. I mean, I met 'er when she was a kid... [And even if she was technically an adult now... she still acted like one.]

[ Sheena can't disagree with him. ]

Yeah...you did. But...

[ She sighed. ]

You knew things that I wouldn't have told anyone unless I trusted you, which told me that you weren't lying about being friends.

And if we were friends once, then we can be again.

[Reno smiled brightly. That was an optimistic view, and it was just like the Sheena he knew. It felt right.]

I'd like that.

[ninjainviolet]

[ Sheena smiled in return. He looked so much better with one--and not that haunted and frightened one he had before at the crystal.

After a moment, her expression became curious. ]

So, uh...where shall we start?

[ Still the same Sheena. ]

Well...

[He gestured toward the slip of paper in her hand.]

You got me for a date. We could start there? Somethin' simple an' easy, like a coff -- like tea?

[He remembered.]

It'll be nice t' get t' know you again.

[ninjainviolet]

[ She looked down at the paper and chuckled sheepishly. ]

Yeah. I guess I do. And that does sound like a good place to start.

[ She blinked when he cut himself off and mentioned tea. Just further proof that they had known each other... ]

Yeah. It would. So...when would you like to do this?

[Reno rubbed the back of his neck.]

Honestly, I hadn't planned that far yet. I figured I'd start just with talkin' to you.

So, uh, y'know -- whenever you want. I don't wanna rush ya into anything.

[Anything at all. Including a date, but most importantly, to talking about intimate things like their pasts -- and their past relationship. Reno wasn't the most socially graceful, but he knew well enough that he had to let this go. He would respect Sheena's pace.]

[ Sheena scratched the back of her head sheepishly, as well. ]

Yeah. Neither have I. I-- I'm not used to things like this. [ Dates, that was. Auctions, too. ] But talking is definitely something we'll do.

[ She smiled. Unlike him, she did want to rush this, but only out of her growing curiosity about their "past". However, she wasn't so insensitive that she wouldn't want to do this right. ]

Okay. As soon as I figure this out, I'll contact you.

[ But don't panic if it takes a while; planning a date wasn't something she was used to. ]

[Reno grinned, nodded... and resisted the instinct to kiss Sheena on the cheek. It was hard, the urge hit him out of nowhere. Old habits, he supposed. He just hadn't expected them so... strongly. And suddenly.]

I'll, um, I'll see you later.

[He needed to go, before he lost himself. Before he scared her off again. He gave a short wave and a nod before excusing himself, making his way through the crowd and outside to get some air.]
