Bids Starting at...

Characters: Everyone
Where: The Observatory
When: October 3rd through out the day. Auction starts at 7:00 PM.
Summary: It's Aqures Ixen's First Annual Date Auction!
Warning: Will note if needed

It's finally here. The night that will either springboard new relationships, kill wallets, or maybe both at the same time. Even though Saori maybe still be a bit salty at Brigid for signing her up to her crazy idea, she had to give the Moogle some credit. The enthusiastic fuzz ball of a shipper on deck managed to get a good chunk of both Heroes and Moogles rather hyped about this date auction. Not to mention quite handful of them were all to happy to help with preparations.

[OOC: LOG IS OPEN. HAVE FUN EVERYONE.]

It should be entertaining, at least. Especially if they managed to draft some of the proud types.

[Jade brightens a bit. It's always fun to watch an ego take a beating.]
unyieldingspirit: (hee-!)

[she chuckles at that, ears rising]

I hope so! May I ask what type you would consider yourself as being, then?
jadethenecromancer: (you silly children)

Me? Just an old soldier well past his prime, I'm afraid.

[Nevermind that he doesn't look old at all.]
unyieldingspirit: (puff puff)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-11-01 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[but. but.]

…You don't seem much older than the Flame General.

[actually he doesn't seem very close to Raubahn's age at all, but that's not the right thing to say is it.]
jadethenecromancer: (lol idk my bff peony?)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2015-11-03 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
36 by Auldrant years, around 75 when converted to the Crystallis calendar. People do say I've aged quite gracefully.

[Basically, he's old enough to be a grandfather to most people here.]
unyieldingspirit: (puff puff)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-11-04 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[She stares a little more, then remembers herself and shakes it off.]

I think I'd be inclined to agree with them. Auldrant… that's where you're from? What is it like? [and why do its years convert that way?]
jadethenecromancer: (well what do we have here?)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2015-11-14 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That's quite the question. I hope you're not asking me to recite the history of the entire planet.

[Is he being unnecessarily difficult about this? Maybe.]
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-11-14 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[she snorts, ears going back for a moment.]

A description of the world in the present would suffice.
jadethenecromancer: (just standing here)

Well... We went through a major crisis recently, so the world is still in a state of transition.

[Where do you begin explaining all the changes? Actually, that's not such a difficult question...]

Until just a few months ago, everyone in Auldrant lived according to the Score. To put it simply, the Score was a reading of the planet's memory, which accurately predicted the planet's history from its creation to its end. Down to the tiniest detail. People would consult the Score in everything, be it matters of political succession or choosing what to eat for dinner. And so it went for 2000 years.
unyieldingspirit: (that was a thing I did)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-12-08 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
[she nods, listening, but her ears flatten back against her head.]

That… that sounds terrible. If people couldn't make the small choices-

[what hope was there for the larger ones? She shakes her head, tail puffing for a moment.]

This transition, then… I take it that was to living without this Score?
jadethenecromancer: (dem glasses)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2016-01-06 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You would be correct. In the end, it was clear the Score wouldn't save Auldrant from its impending destruction, and so we abandoned it to find our own solution.

Unfortunately, while our leaders understand the need to make their own choices from here on... it's not an easy task to convince the populace at large of the same.
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-01-09 12:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[she lets out a soft hiss, ears twitching back for a moment.] Twelve. But- this means the world has continued on, correct?

I suppose not. [that kind of thing is why she's not much of a diplomat] All the same- your leaders can show the way.
jadethenecromancer: (this snow is as cold as my soul)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2016-01-16 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It has... for the time being, at least.

[Jade doesn't look terribly worried, despite the seriousness of the discussion.]

The Score might seem like a terrible thing to you, but for the vast majority of people on Auldrant, it meant stability. Even if the future wasn't always ideal, at least there always was a future.
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2016-01-20 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Then that's good. [for however long it lasts, she supposes.

She nods, ears flicking back briefly.]

I suppose so. It has its appeal… knowing what tomorrow will bring, knowing what your place in it will be. [dryly] Until the end, though, you mean?
jadethenecromancer: (lol idk my bff peony?)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2016-01-30 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed.

Mind you, since parts of the Score were classified information, most normal people had no idea it went off track at all. There are still those who believe the world is following it even though public readings have stopped.
