She knew that the old Observatory marked the location for their battle but that didn't stop her from taking a moment to look out over the city. She spent a lot of time in this peek and it was obvious that her loftwing did too. For the moment the large blue bird was at her side though Zelda was gently pushing the creature to leave the tower and fly somewhere safe.

"You should go." Her voice was soft as the loftwing nuzzled against Zelda's side.

Her fingers rested at the nape of her neck trying to dispel the uncomfortable feeling that began to rise through her body. She had to be strong and as others trickled into the highest point of the observatory Zelda put on a confident expression though there was no smile on her lips.

"Tis the waning day. Many a Hero is entering the building, and I myself join the fray," said Meteor as he walked up next to Zelda.

He was dressed in his full warrior armor, and his axe slung over his shoulder. "How are you holding up?"
goddessofthesky: (working hard)

Zelda looked behind her as Meteor spoke, her lips curling into a warm smile at the familiar tone. Unlike him Zelda didn’t look ready for battle. She wore a light blue dress which matched the shade of her eyes and a light brown coat that kept the harsh wind at bay. Her current jobs were support jobs which meant that she’d be towards the back of the fight anyway.

“I’m feeling better thank you.” Better was a relative term but she didn’t want him to worry. “Do you need anything?” She had some potions down stairs that she had kept in case they were needed.

As she spoke her loftwing hopped closer, the large bird trying to wrap around Zelda’s petite form. She wasn’t so convinced that her rider was really feeling alright after witnessing her crying moments before. Though Zelda was determined, this wasn’t the time to focus on worries. There was a battle looming just over head.

"Pray, I was worried a little but I am glad you are here. A couple of hi-potions would be preferable," he said. "I might have misplaced mine in a hurry."

"Are you worried?" he asked softly. "Tis a place of danger right now."

Zelda nodded and then gestured for Meteor to follow her. It was only her bird her stopped her from avoiding his question. The loftwing moved around Zelda stopping her from walking down the stairs to where she kept the extra supplies.

"Ah, well. The potions are just down stairs." She looked at her loftwing putting a hand on her side. There was a silent conversation that quickly pass between them before Zelda turned towards Meteor. She was smiling though it was more real this time. She was happy that he was there and worried about her.

"I am, a little. We've built this place into a home. I always wanted it to my a symbol of hope for the heroes and now its becoming a battle field." She sighed softly her head falling to the side while cascades of gold fall over her shoulder. She's put all of her energy and time into this building and into the heroes. This was her home.

"A battle field that you can't avoid becoming one, I see." said Meteor as he stepped down the stairs next to Zelda.

"I am sorry, it had to be this way. If it weren't for the accursed beings taking this place for their own, I would have driven them out faster."

"Is there anything I can do?"
goddessofthesky: (Yeah I'm awesome)

Zelda shook her head looking up at Meteor with a smile. “It isn’t your fault and I’ll be ready for whatever happens.” Her gaze softens slightly at his offer. “Just being there does a lot. Thank you Meteor.”

She turned towards her loftwing who seemed determined to stop her from going down stairs. The large bird wouldn’t be able to follow and it didn’t seem keen with leaving Zelda’s side. She gently patted the birds beak, her gaze loving as she spoke.

“You stay. I’ll be right back, I’m just grabbing something.”

The bird took a step back from Zelda, with a shake of its head. She wasn’t happy with letting the young goddess go but she knows Zelda’s words to be true.

She looked up at Meteor again, feeling even shorter since she was a few steps below him. “It’s just down stairs.” With that she began descending the winding staircase.

Following behind, Meteor looked out a nearby window at the darkening skies. "A storm is coming, and I feel like there is something to be said about the nature of the nervous tension in the air."

Perhaps it could be said he was nervous as well, wringing his hands a little.

"Are you feeling well, dear sister." she asks somberly. Though they are not kin, she felt that using such a term would at least ease the woman, if just a little at hearing such a concerned voice.

Of course, Val was no stranger to a fight, and in some strange, and natural way, she was excited to let loose, but, she still needed to be concerned for the others around...

After all, collateral damage is a terrible look!

“Just worried.” Zelda smiled, she was happy to have Valvalis’s concern though she was currently trying to get her loftwing to leave the top of the old observatory and seek safety. She knows that her bird won’t go very far but at least she’d be out of harm’s way.

“How are you?”

She did know that Valvalis enjoyed fighting to a degree that Zelda couldn’t understand. It was the others culture and Zelda wasn’t able to tell her otherwise. It wasn’t as if Val hurt random people for the sport of it.

"Well, you can rest a little easier. I'll be here with you dear. I assure you, you won't have a thing to worry about." The way she says it is almost in a frightening tone, but reassuring.

"I'm doing quite well. Anxious, but not quite... worried." she comments, putting her hands on her hips. "Though, I'm a little out of my element I'm sure I'll do just fine helping out everyone else. I've given up my bow, however, but I won't forget the time we spent training."

Zelda nodded with a smile, her own jobs were all support and she hoped to do just that. Her fingers lightly traced down the birds feathers.

“Hear that? I’m not alone. You should go.” She spoke to the bird softly who shook its head in return. Then, with a reluctant hop, the bird made its way towards the opening that the top of the old observatory. Its wings flapping at the air before it jumps of the side. After a moment it can be seen against the stormy sky, a dot of blue sticking out amidst the field of gray.

“Looks like its approaching.” Whatever it was.

"Indeed. Did you have a plan for this or simply... act as best you can?" she inquires. She didn't have one herself, but at least despite not having her typical jobs at hand, she was prepared, and knew what she could do besides float and bring people to their knees in but a moment's notice.

"Should I keep Kukaze with you in case you need to withdraw?" And now she takes the place of the bird in worrying for the girl.

Zelda laughed and shook her head.

"No, I will be fine. I'm going to stay back and heal those who might need it." It's a simple job but someone needs to do it and she knows that she'll be safe that way as well. Her two jobs are currently support classes anyway.

jadethenecromancer: (just hanging out)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2015-10-29 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Jade had come to the Observatory along with the others, of course. It was against his nature to stay home while excitement took place -- and in any case, he had been stuck playing the healer for months now. Might as well stick with it for a while longer.

He was unsurprised to find Zelda already there. This place was practically her house by now.

"It's almost time. Are you ready?" Jade was, as expected, unnecessarily cheerful.
goddessofthesky: (Loftwing and Zelda)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-10-29 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Zelda looked up from her loftwing, the large bird nuzzling at her side to somehow regain her lost attention. Her lips curled into a soft smile at the sight of Jade. She spent so much time in the old building that she’d go weeks without seeing her friends. Even with a battle looming she was happy to see Jade.

“As much as I can be, I can’t seem to get her to leave the tower.” The loftwing had been using the top of the observatory as its home since only Zelda would venture up so high. It seemed more than a little reluctant to leave.

Zelda sighed softly as the bird began to nip at the hem of her dress. “Are you ready?”
jadethenecromancer: (well what do we have here?)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2015-11-03 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"As ready as can be expected." Truthfully, they knew too little about what was coming to be truly prepared. A battle of some kind, no doubt, but against what?

Jade watched the loftwing with interest as it tried to keep Zelda's attention to itself. He hadn't had the chance to see the bird up close before. Animals could certainly grow to impressive sizes.

"Hmm. Is it normal for her to disobey you?"
goddessofthesky: (happy loftwing)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-11-04 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Zelda looked over and shook her head. “No but I’ve never forced her to listen to me either.” She won’t force her loftwing to do anything it didn’t want to do. It was its own self and she wanted it to feel the freedom they both sought after.

“I rarely leave the city without her and she’s able to sense that something is off which has her worried.” The bond they share was deep though Zelda didn’t think she’d have to explain it for it to be obvious. They’ve been together for most of their lives.

A hand lightly glides against her light blue feathers as her eyes turned back towards Jade. “Are you used to dealing with animals?” She also had a magical touch with chocobo’s thanks to her background with her loftwing.
jadethenecromancer: (hands in pockets)

[personal profile] jadethenecromancer 2015-12-06 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Is that so? She must be quite loyal to stay in spite of her anxiety."

Jade didn't get too close. Best not to assume the bird would be as friendly with a stranger. Zelda's question drew a wry smile from him.

"Well... From a scientific point of view, yes. You could say that." Actually, Jade had rather liked animals as a child. That was why he had spent far too much time dragging their corpses home so he could see how they worked. He had enough tact not to mention that right now. "I've never been one for keeping pets, though."
unyieldingspirit: (how do I put this)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-10-30 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
For her part, K'pandolu had remained in motley, though she'd scrubbed the remainder of the paint off her face and was bearing her Jobs' accoutrements. She gave Zelda a quick smile, passing by to reach out towards the loftwing. "It appears that your companion will not be deterred," she remarked, and by sleight of hand produced a pumpkin-shaped cookie in one hand. "Tell me- is this a fitting reward for such a faithful bird?"
goddessofthesky: (Loftwing and Zelda)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-10-30 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Zelda laughed softly at the sight of the pumpkin cookie. Pumpkins were one of the loftwings favorite meals. “Yes, thank you.”

She gently pat the birds neck as it nuzzles it’s beak towards the little treat.

“I wish she’d go. She knows I’ll call her.”
unyieldingspirit: (until the end and then beyond)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-10-30 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
K'pandolu held the treat out for the loftwing, eyes bright as she watched the bird reach for it. "I hope you'll like it," she murmured, and looked to Zelda, reaching to take out another cookie for her. "She most likely stays for the same reason we've all come- to try to do something, no matter what should come."
goddessofthesky: (happy loftwing)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-10-31 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
That might be true but unlike those who fought the loftwing mostly had it's speed which couldn't be used in the small space. Zelda sighed softly while the bird happily ate up the treat. It nudged under Zelda's arm as if to share but Zelda shook her head.

"It's all yours." She smiled and the bird quickly finished the cookie.

Zelda looked over at K'pandolu. "Thank you."
unyieldingspirit: (hee-!)

[personal profile] unyieldingspirit 2015-10-31 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
"This one's for her, if you're concerned," K'pandolu told the loftwing, holding the cookie up before holding it out to Zelda. "I have a few more, if you'd like- seems the ghosts put more than a few off their seasonal spirits."

She shifted a little, ears flicking, and nodded, a smile on her face. "You're welcome. It seemed the least I could do."
goddessofthesky: (Loftwing and Zelda)

[personal profile] goddessofthesky 2015-11-01 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Zelda took the offered cookie and smiled. She wasn't expecting sweets today. Skyloft had the harvest festival but they didn't have anything like Halloween and they didn't have candy. At least not the same sugary sweets they had in Crystallis.

"Thank you." Before nibbling on the treat she looked up at her loftwing. "See, I'm in good hands. You go."

She patted the birds neck gently before pushing it towards the opening that lead to the sky. "Go." It hopped a few times before spreading it's wings.
