WHO: Rukia Kuchiki, OPEN!
WHAT: A group of adventurers sets out to find themselves some new feathered friends, as well as spend time together camping out and battling monsters. On the last day, the adventure is capped off with a battle against a chocobo eater.
WHEN: November 7th - 9th
WHERE: Calm Plains

OOC NOTES
There will be two threads for each day: one for mingling, and one for fighting monsters/encountering chocobos. The encounter schedule is listed below. Assume encounters A-E happen in the daytime, and F-J happen at night. We can assume that most of the encounters are handwaved, so if there's one you'd love to play out, start a thread with the encounter listed in the subject. Example: Day 2, Encounter X: Five Hamsters.

Note: We will not find five hamsters. No one is allowed to die horrifically in this fun-filled expedition.

Some chocobo captures are reserved for those who signed up, and have been marked accordingly. You can claim one of the encounters on this list, if you like. And if you're a new character, you can join too! Either assume Rukia mentioned it to them and invited them along, or PM me and I'll have Rukia meet your character in the intro log if she hasn't already.

[ Taken aback by her appearance, at his side, no less, the cadet shifts a bit in place and doesn't respond right away. Not necessarily out of embarrassment, it just takes certain strength to willingly abandon one's comfortable shell of privacy after it's only been established, and this would be something Ace is still learning.

Though of course, he's not nearly immature enough to blame Rukia about it, which is why he eventually musters a weak smile. ]

Something of the sort. Admittedly, I find some comfort in writing things down so that I don't forget.

[ He's still somewhat protective about his notes, but since they're out in the open, she might get a glimpse of what is essentially... a little bit of everything. Notes on incantations and Eidolons, sentences taken out of context or in one of the corners, an innocently looking calculation of how much Gysahl Greens Suzaku tends to be eating daily. All in no order whatsoever, although written by a careful hand. ]

[She only glances at his book briefly, to get a feel for what it is. If it had appeared to be a journal, she wouldn't have asked. But notes are fine, and fairly interesting. Especially if he's as prone to doodling and artwork as she is.]

[ He fights the rising urge to pull the book close to himself, but ratoniality takes over as he realizes how childish it would probably look like. Hastily, he gives the outstretched pages one last glance. ]

... Uh. Sure.

[ Already familiar with Rukia's penchant for drawing, he figures that must be the reason behind her request, so hopefully, she wouldn't read into what he wrote... too much? Ace picks the notes and shyly places them in her hands, because somehow, the idea of presenting them personally seems even less enticing of a deal.

There's no blackmail material inside because a separate book exists for those, but she might be happy to discover even more Chocobo drawings alongside everything else mentioned before. Also, every twenty pages or so is separated by bookmarks in form of colorful feathers. ]

[He is correct -- she wanted to see the doodles. When he allows her to hold the book, she smiles in thanks, and props the spine carefully upon her knees as she leafs slowly through the pages. She tries to take care not to read his personal notes, but that isn't hard as her eyes are automatically drawn to the sketches of everyone's favorite bird.]

These are quite good! You have a talent for drawing.

[She finds her first feather, blinks, then grins.]

You must be very fond of chocobos. Or is it simply a matter of liking birds?
