Characters: James Kidd (Mary Read) and the Heroes she's approached about her Assassin's Guild
Where: Trano Golsaucia
When: Begins November 6th and hopefully ends by the 9th
Summary: The information that Mary has gathered has lead her to believe that the fugitive moogle Artemicion has been spotted in Trano Golsaucia. She's decided to take a small group to take him in herself.
OOC notes: This log is semi closed to people who Kidd has had CR with. However the first prompt will be open and if you want to try to come on board please contact me via plurk or message. Even so, she wants to keep party size limited so to not spook her quarry. OOC post here: link

Largely this will be a first proper mission for her guild's pc trainee's. Information on the Artimicion will be supplied by the mods as they're able to help us out. Beyond that this is sneakytime fun. I'll handle any npcs that we interact with. I believe the best way to do it would be for each player to pick which location and date they will be searching an area during the trip, covering the 7th and 8th. On the 9th a move will be made and hopefully the moogle will be captured.

On the 5th, letters go out to a few particular Heroes, and not through the normal Mognet channels. Instead they are dropped off quickly and quietly, though a keen eye may still spot the hooded moogle jumping from hiding place to perching point as she goes about her deliveries.

The letter reads:

Dear Friends,

Ever since the vanishing of Palitutu I have been reaching out to various contacts that I could make around the world, trying to find out what I can about her movements. While the Tarutaru has remained elusive, there seem to have been sightings of a particular moogle that I would like to investigate and I'd appreciate your assistance.

Please meet me at the Eagle Eye pub tomorrow so that we may discuss matters.

Mary studied Ellie's face. She couldn't quite get a read on the woman. Instinctively she was a bit wary but this woman had been brought her to be a Hero like the rest of them. She'd shown her skill at their meeting and she DID have a point about being an unfamiliar face. Besides, she had said she was on the lookout for more potential members for her Brotherhood, as small as it was.

"Hmmm, perhaps. What Jobs did you find yourself in this world with? Our quarry is a moogle who assisted Palitutu. While he was not directly responsible for any of the disasters that occurred, he still fed information to the enemy. We're hoping he might do the reverse with some encouragement."

"Archer, and thief," she replied without hesitation. The job of a 'thief' didn't quite carry the same negative connotation as someone who made a legitimate career out of robbing people, so Ellie saw no reason to be reticent over the matter. "I had some skill with a bow in the Valley I hailed from," she added as a sidenote.

But she didn't bother elaborating on what else she had skill with, since it wasn't necessary.

"It would be good to test the changes the jobs have made to my person. I had no special powers previously, and yet, now I find myself stronger and faster than I should naturally be. It is interesting."

The pirate Job wasn't very different in this regard. Still, Mary had come to appreciate the benefits it gave to her already known skills as well as the new and sometimes magical ones they granted her. Still, she did miss the seas sometimes.

"I see. So in much the same situation I found myself in when I arrived." She glanced over her shoulder back at the others with her, thinking things over. These were all people she'd gathered for this because she trusted them. Or they were in turn trusted by someone she did.

And then there was this woman. The scuffle they had at their meeting was a bit telling. "Hmmmm. I owe you more than just an apology for our meeting. If you would like to come with us you may find your new skills put to use. And I'll do what I can to show you can trust us."

"Oh?" Ellie sat up a little straighter. Mary officially had her interest; now she wouldn't have to hone her eavesdropping skills to find out what was going on. How much simpler it was when she was allowed to ask straight up about information and current events. "If you would have me, then I would be pleased to assist." She even smiled, and took a pull from her own mug.

"I love a good adventure. Yes, perhaps this is what I need to submerge myself in moving through this world. You may count on my bow for assistance."

Mary smiled. Perhaps it would pay to be a little more trusting of the other Heroes. Of course, she knew a good many would have been eager to help with this regardless, but their numbers were still a good small size. And it would give her a good chance to size up Elsa's skills.

"Glad to have you aboard. Let the bartender know your next drink is on me. Come back to my table when you're ready and I'll fill you in on the details."
