Setting: Histrical Center (Library), Airship Port, Out Hunting Monsters
When: Month of December
Summary: Keith is new to Crystalis, but after a few days of walking around and wrapping his head around the weirdness of his new home it's time to get his feet wet. Getting money is always a good place to start in a new town, and fortunately the local airship port accepted his past garrison training. There's still the actual test itself to pass, but surely learning to fly will be easy considering all his advanced fighter pilot training, right? There's also trying to get a hang of this new magitek knight and engineer job. If he's going to live in this world he's going to have to fight in it. He's heard about this monster arena that's looking for new stock. Even if he's new to this world, he's no stranger to fighting. He knows how to deal a beat down.

[Keith was no stranger to studying or hard work. Despite what his fellow blue pilot would say, he didn't get by on his name and good looks alone. It had taken hard work to make it to the top pilot position at Garrison, and it was even more work to keep that slot. Disgustingly easy to lose it all though, but that was neither here nor there. Here was in a dusty library pulling out leather bound tomes (so vintage!) to try and brush up on this airship exam he had to take. It shouldn't be too bad, but unfortunately whatever niggling sense of doubt he might possess seemed to have a direct line of communication through his moogle.]

You know that people usually spend years training for this gig, not to mention actually lived on this planet for a bit longer. There's no reason to expect that you'll pass this on your first try, ace pilot or no.

[He grit his teeth and set the sizable stack of books in his arms down on a nearby table. The slam echoed through the empty space, and he suspected more than a few heads turned around to glare at him for his disrespect to literature.]

Careful, if you're any more supportive of me I might get soft. Hey Kid, hand me my notebook so I can get started.

[The second part was addressed in a softer tone to the small puppet that had faithfully followed him since he woke up. He was considerably warmer to the moving doll, in spite or perhaps because of its complete silence. The small thing handed him his pen and paper just as he cracked open his first book to see a diagram of. . . ]

[What the hell kind of design was this?! How did it fly like that?! Now a little more nervous he focused on trying to make a table diagramming how the hell he was going to transfer all of his advanced flying to such retro machinery.]
