Event || Window of Opportunity

Characters: All Heroes of Light.
Where: Aqures Ixen - Everywhere
When: September 25th - From 12:30 to 22:30.
Summary: Heroes of Light will relive the same ten hours over and over again until they find a solution. This may be a blow to what's left of their sanity, but that's also a window of opportunity! The OOC Post is here for more information! It's not too late to sign-up, anyone can still jump right into the event! However, your vote for the total number of loops will not be taken into account any more.

Speaking of which-- Votes are in and this time displacement madness will be solved after 191 loops. Practically speaking, this means characters going through every single loop will live 2 months, 2 weeks, 3 days and 14 hours in the span of half a day. Hopefully they won't mind the food for the day, the clothes they're wearing or what they were doing when the loop started, because that's what they'll be stuck with until the end. There are some events described below, but there will be no NPC replies. Feel free to partake in these events and of course, make your own!

The Flence Salesman
— All Day Long —
There is a salesman from Flence in the city, and he is going for every person he sees in the streets. Adults, children or elders, humans or tarutarus, it doesn't matter to him so long as he can make money! He will try to sell to the characters specialties from Flence and some crystals at absolutely awful prices, but he's open to negotiations and beyond that, he's extremely persistent. Normally, nobody would care about this, but given the salesman isn't be aware of the loop, he'll keep doing the same things over and over again... Hopefully he won't see your characters, otherwise he might just bother them for every single loop.

Moogle Demonstration for the Future of Mognet
— 12:30 => 16:00 —
For a surprise one-day long strike, the Moogles are demonstrating! There are roughly 800 Moogles together (250 according to the government, 5000 according to the striking Moogles) in the demonstration, all singing slogans and some even holding placards with "More Gil and Less Work" or "Give us Kupo Nuts" signs.

They started at 10:00 and left from the 09th District, but they will go throughout every district and explain what their protest is about. They'll finish at 16:00 and will be back to the 09th District to eat Kupo Nuts and drink Chocobo Milk together.

Biggs' Grand Return
— 14:00 => 22:30 —
After a month spent in the hospital, Biggs is finally back! He leave the Hospital at 14:00 and head straight for the Castle of Aqures Ixen. Noticeably he still has a broken and bandaged arm, but he'll pretend to be totally fine and for that matter, he will be as rude and as unfriendly as ever. He will spend most of the day in the Castle, but will go in Palitutu's Lab by 19:00 to meet with Cid. Among other things, he will side-eye everyone and will accidentally splash Cid's coffee on a Hero of Light working there (or on a Moogle, should the Hero have the good sense to avoid Biggs next loop).

Renovation of the Blitzball Stadium
— 15:30 => 20:00 —
The repairs are going steadily and today, a special dome from Trano Golsaucia is being transported and placed on the Blitzball Stadium, brand new and much more modern than what Aqures Ixen used to have! On the downside however, the airship bringing the dome and the work being done on the stadium are all very, very noisy. So noisy that everyone in a two-district radius will be bothered by it.

Under normal circumstances it would have been only for a short time and easilly bearable, but here it will happen for every single loop.

Have You Heard of the Heroes of Light?
— All Day Long —
Throughout the day, a few people are going to go and knock on every doors in the city, to talk about a most fascinating topic: the Heroes of Light! They will speak about how it is said the Heroes of Light are in Crystallis and how they managed to defeat the empire without difficulties back during the attack! Then they will go on and ask for a contribution (hear: money) to help the Heroes of Light in their cause. Of course, these people are dishonest and the money will go into their own pockets, as they don't believe in the Heroes of Light to begin with.

And of course, they'll go knock on doors during every single loop!

The Accident
— 22:29 => 22:30 —
The one minute that started it all. Who is the imbecile who committed the mistake on Palitutu's computer? Is this a Moogle or a Hero of Light, maybe Cid or Biggs? Whoever it is, after the first time, at 22:29 the program will start again on its own and will activate the loop right at 22:30, sending everything back to 12:30. The characters may try to run more programs to block the computer, cut the energy source or even bomb the building if they so wish...

But these archaic and barbaric solutions won't prevent the next loop from happening. Only hard work and scientific solutions shall prevail!

[ As for Yuri, he’s been quite aware of the Loop the first time it happened, and he didn’t really like it as much since the more he was able to repeat something, the more annoyed he got. Of course, it was none of his business the first ten times it’s happened, but walking out of the bathroom in a towel almost 65 freaking times was starting to get really old for Yuri. Of course, whatever he was doing, he managed to settle himself nicely under a tree for the day, napping. So if someone decided to draw a mustache on him supposedly, it would be interesting. Though, it would only happen on the 65th loop though.

If anyone attempted to do this on him the loop after that, he’d probably catch them, arm marker and all! Well for right now, everyone was free to do as they wished with him. Of course, he wouldn't be really nice after he found out what the hell was happening and he would catch them in the act and make fun yet rude comments towards them.

Anything after that, he's totally game with Rukia to do some damage on some of the citizens including his favourite old man too if they ever ran across Raven sleeping or napping somewhere. Yuri had no qualms about playing a few little games and such with his companions. It was in his nature to do such things. He was himself, a troll from time to time. ]

[The first time Rukia spots Yuri sleeping under a tree, she takes note of it. He may be aware of the loop, he may not be. She doesn't know. She's hoping that he knows. By this point, she's given up trying to explain it to those who don't recognize the situation. She was assumed to have a concussion by one person, even. For now, Yuri is left in peace. They may have had some differences, but he's a reliable person. She'd like to talk to him about it. But she'll let him sleep.]

[When Rukia finds him in the exact same spot during the next loop, for a moment her face reflects her disappointment. It's sort of a lonely feeling, to find that she's disconnected from the people she considers friends.]

[On the other hand, he won't care about tomorrow, will he? With a frustrated sigh, her hand dips into her robes to seek out the inner pocket, and a slim black marker she keeps hidden there. The marker is uncapped, and she crouches next to the sleeping swordsman, using all of her ninja-inherited stealth not to wake him. A few quick light strokes, and he's got a pointed goatee and a thin, angular moustache. Heh heh. For this loop, his masculinity is guaranteed. No one will mistake him for a girl now!]

[Feeling oddly satisfied, Rukia walks away, tossing the marker in her hand. Maybe she can find another sleeping victim and brush up on her art skills...]

[ The first time he wasn't but the next few times he was. Though, he never really felt her presence to be threatening, so he didn't stop her the firs time he felt her wandering around. He was curious of what the girl was attempting to do really. This person was a bit strange just as their moogle was. Yuri had sent Acrisius to do some random work while he flounced around lazily under the tree.

The second time she found him sleeping under that tree, he was really napping, and maybe that wasn't a good idea, since he was starting to be aware of what was going on. The same rinse and repeat gesture. If she attempted it a third time, Rukia would be stopped but it would probably be in a humorously awkward way since Yuri liked to make things a bit discomforting for the people that attempted to play with him.

So, after waking up the way he did with marker all over his face and shit that he didn't expect to have happen, he's waiting for the culprit on the third loop, napping like he usually did in the same usual spot. ]

[The face graffiti, admittedly, cheered Rukia up a great deal. Or maybe it was the cathartic evil laughter that followed her first success. It makes things feel a little bit more normal, even if it's brief.]

[In fact, she enjoys it so much that she can't resist returning for an encore. Sure enough, there he is in the same spot, and the same position. Convinced that Yuri's stuck in the loop like so many others, Rukia uncaps her marker with a wicked little chortle, and tiptoes closer. Her grin is wide as the marker's tip gets closer and closer to his face. Today, he will have curly spiral eyebrows...]

[ That took a while for him to rub off, so he wasn't going to let the culprit get away with it a second time now that he was aware of it. He would patiently sleep it off until the person got close enough for him to grab them.

Rukia would get closer and closer and see no reaction from Yuri. In fact, he didn't even seem to notice she was getting closer. At least, that was what it appeared anyway. ]

[Of course he's not waking up. Why would he? He didn't wake up last time, after all.]

[Situated on one knee, she's close enough to pick up the faint lingering scent of the shampoo he uses in his hair. A pleasant aroma. But she's more concentrated on her art than anything else, and the felt tip lightly starts to skim the outer edge of his eyebrow.]

[ Yuri eventually felt her close enough when she was within grabbing distance, his arm flashed out and she was caught, with a briefly smug Yuri grinning rather half amused at her antics. ]

So you're the little culprit huh?

[ He replied still holding onto her arm. ]

[Her facial expressions are a veritable potpourri of mixed responses. Alarm when his fingers close tightly on her wrist. Then flat-eyed disappointment at being denied such a perfect canvas.]

Tch...

[Then another blink before she goes back to surprise, for she realizes Yuri must not be part of the loop.]

You're aware...?

[Finally, relief breaks through the rest, and in an odd sort of way, she's really happy.]

I'm glad. There are so many others. ...You may release me now.

[She won't draw on his face anymore. ...Unless he does something stupid and makes her change her mind.]

[ Yuri sat up some more to get a better grip on her as she scoffed. Well, at least it was someone he knew. She had guts, he'll give her that. Otherwise he would really wonder. ]

No kidding, shorty.

[ He replied using his free hand to run through his hair. ]

Here I thought I might be going nuts and here you are trying to play a game and you speak on top of it.

[ He added though her sigh of relied made him raise a brow. ]

Seems that way, since you got caught in the act and know, and oh well maybe I don't want to just in case you decide to throw a curve ball?

[ He grinned, before releasing her. ]

Going nuts? My artistic skills are that realistic, you say?

[Well of course, she is a master, ho ho ho. But she doesn't make a second attempt, instead capping the marker and tucking it away. ...But no promises she won't bring it out again if he makes her angry enough. She sits back on her heels, fingers laced in her lap.]

...Your companion is unaware. Likely, you knew this.

[She's unhappy about it.]

Not quite what I was getting at, shorty.

[ He replied with a shake of his head. It's fine if she didn't get it. He didn't want to go on explaining it either. ]

Yeah, well not everyone could be aware of what's going on right? It just seems like some sort of fluke.

[ he added shrugging. ]

I suppose.

[She isn't satisfied with the explanation, but it isn't as if she expects him to have a good answer to begin with. It's an awkward situation, given the heartfelt apology she gave "yesterday." He doesn't seem all that affected, though. She won't bring it up anymore.]

Have you discovered anything?

[ He kept quiet for a moment as she pondered what to ask him. Of course, he knew that stuff was weird for a while now. He didn't really pay much heed to it to be honest. Right now he was keeping things in the down low until he learned more. However, Rukia was in the same boat as him so it made things a bit easier to handle. ]

Not at the moment. Been trying to figure out how to do it and what I can do without getting into too much trouble.

[ He replied, though that was a partial lie since Yuri liked getting into a lot of trouble daily. ]

[Rukia inclines her head. She looks away, holding her chin pensively.]

I've been attempting to ride out and see how far the radius of effect extends, but it appears to be global. So I've been unable to pinpoint the origin.

[She sighs.]

All I know is that whatever triggers it takes place at approximately 10:30 in the evening. Unless one of us just happens to be nearby this trigger, there's little opportunity to identify the source. It may wear off on its own. I do not know.

[And that frustrates her. Hence, moustaches for all.]

At least I have succeeded in the skill of chocobo riding. There is plenty of time to master new abilities.

Haven't either. I've pretty much said screw it, too much work and I ain't going crazy yet, so that means I'm good until I need to find it.

Though, not sure about some folks though. They look rather peeved-- for those that look like they're aware.

[ He replied with a shrug from his side. Honestly, there wasn't much to say beyond that. ]

Chocobo riding huh? Did you fall a lot?

[ He half teased her though he really wondered if she fell too much. ]

I don't see how that's any of your business.

[Of course she fell a lot! Those are big birds, and she's stumpy. And she's absolutely not telling him that one of her friends even picked her up and put her on personally just to make sure she didn't slide right off of the saddle the moment she got on.]

Well, I'm glad you've kept your head so far. I can't begin to describe the abominable sights I was subjected to by someone else who threw all propriety out the window long ago.

It was a curious question, shorty. You don't have to answer if you're too embarrassed to.

[ He teased with that smug grin on his face again. He was sure she did and Yuri never tried but he probably would have suffered some too with those giant birds honestly. Yuri could only imagine the mess that she had to deal with riding them and how short she was compared to everyone else. ]

More or less. I'm not interested in losing it, to be honest. Really now? It must have been extremely unbearable.

Somehow I doubt you only wish to sate your curiosity.

[She knows what you really want, you monster. If he gets it, it's not going to be through any admission of hers. She flops down on the grass to sit beside him, heaving a sigh of disgust.]

You have no idea. A man saw fit to lose all of his clothes and run multiple laps around the cafe. Honestly, I question this world's judgment sometimes over the people it elected as Heroes.

You think so?

[ Good,then it would be better if she didn't talk too much about her endeavors with him. He would tease her forever and a decade about it until he got bored obviously. Well, calling him a monster isn't wrong either Rukia. He wouldn't blame you if you decided to nickname him that. ]

Somehow, I doubt you're kidding about that. Lucky for me, nothing bizarre happened while I was lazing around here enjoying the breeze. At least, until you came by with a marker, Shorty. Nice try though. You got lucky the first time but I don't think round two is happening.

[ He replied laughing a little. ]

Well, between you and me, I am no Hero either. These guys made a mistake and I'm not interested in working by the whims of others.

That sounds like a challenge~

[She flashes a mischievous smile. He'd better be careful, Rukia can be fairly impish when given the proper motivation. Yuri's already got the personality for it. Rukia reclines on her hands, regarding him with a curious tilt of her head.]

Why do you say that? You came to my aid quickly enough, I'd consider that to be heroic.

[Does he just suffer from a low self esteem, or are heroes completely over-the-top windbags of do-gooding where he's from?]

Oh does it now? Don't get hurt trying too hard, Shorty.

[ He grinned at her mischievous smile. Yuri was ready to play her game when he felt the need to. She was a bit of a sneaky little thing, he'll admit that much. ]

You call that Heroic, I call it doing what's right.

[ He replied with a shrug. ]

You don't have to understand it really. I'm no hero.

Are they not the same thing?

[He doesn't seem like the modest type, so she can only guess he feels guilty about something...or perhaps he just doesn't measure up to someone he considers to be a better hero? ~~She should have read his file.~~]

Any time you put the needs of another before yourself, you become that person's hero, whether you consider yourself a hero or not. In that regard, you are my hero.

[An excited Moogle 'kyaaaahhhh's in the treetops overhead, to which Rukia directs a flat stare. She needs to be more careful about what she says when Chappopo is around.]

Not at all. If you think being a Hero means you're doing the right thing, then you're wrong. There's more to doing what's right than doing good. Sometimes it means getting your hands a little dirty.

[ He replied seriously to Rukia without obvious bluntness. He didn't see any of it as the same thing because they were different. If he were a good person he wouldn't have killed those people to benefit the rest of the world. He's definitely no modest at all. ]

You're a bit strange, Shorty, but hey it's not like I have the right to stop you from calling me whatever you want. Just don't expect me to live up to any expectations. I'm definitely not that guy.

[ He replied with a brief laugh. Yuri shot Chapo a look for the sound she made. ]

Oh yeah? She isn't? Seems like Acrisius is in the same boat.

It sounds as if you're thinking of something specific.

[Rukia gazes at him curiously, holding one knee loosely to her chest. She knows a little about 'doing the right thing' instead of 'doing what's lawful' herself.]

What did you do that makes your hands so dirty as you claim them to be?

[She's not sure if he'll answer her or not, but she isn't afraid to ask him about it. How else will she know? She's sworn off snooping through people's files without their permission, though if he decides to give her the go-ahead, she'd probably take him up on it. Even so, she'd rather hear it from him instead.]

[As for expectations, she just smiles with a mild shrug.]

I'd be satisfied with friendship.

[Hopefully that's not too high an expectation for him.]

[ As in he's dropping the talk about it for the time being. He doesn't change his views on what he believes in and Rukia won't be able to sway him too much from it. She can try though. However, Yuri has a different track of mind compared to other people. ]

Why don't we leave those campfire stories for later. I'm pretty sure there are more important things we need to be concerned about than my past.

[ He replied using his sword to get him off his feet and then tucking it back in his sash. She could ask what she wanted but it was a subject he wouldn't be sharing with a mere stranger. Not that he cared about hiding it. It wasn't something he needed to bring up. ],/small>
