Event || The New Year
Characters: Anyone!
Where: The Enterprise.
When: The Night from December 31st to January 1st.
Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.
While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...
To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.
There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

Sparks Nevada | open
Sparks had to wonder about his own dancing skills, though. It's been a long time since he has. He can't even really remember the last time he had. Maybe this was a bad idea after all. For now, he'll stick to the drink table. He was off tonight. Technically. Mercury was on board in case he had to get away for work, but his coworkers all but locked the office doors behind him as they forced Sparks into taking at least one night off.
He'll raise his drink in greeting to anyone who might come his way.]
So, this is my second new year's here. Can ya even believe it? I can't. Where'd all that time go?
no subject
[Yugi couldn't help but be surprised, even though probably deep down he really should be at this point since he arrived not to long after the new year. A month or two at least.]
Is it still odd being here then?
no subject
[Sparks sighs a little and takes a sip of his drink, but then shrugs.]
Buuut I'm tryin' not to think about it. Just keep movin' forward, y'know? Just gets hard not to think about it when a holiday rolls around.
no subject
[He had been thinking about a lot himself lately, which he knew here was never a good thing. But he figured once he was hard at work again at the lab he should be fine.]
Work will help with that at least.

[Sure he had get togethers with friends back home, but never parties. Still was a little odd that he still goes to this type of thing even not being use to them.]
But trying to do something different is a good thing.
no subject
And I do plenty here that's different than back home. Y'know, like living a life without electricity. Or interstellar travel. Or lasers. So basically, like, living in the dark ages.
no subject
[He didn't think it was that bad, after all he managed to adapt to this place without what he was use to at least.]
I guess you sound like your more advanced than my world since you mention lasers and such.
no subject
Maybe? The only folks 'round here don't even come close to comin' from the same time I do, or so I've found. Except, like, the people I know from back home, of course.
no subject
[He puts a finger to his cheek to scratch it lightly. All worlds were different after all, so he knew for a fact there were going to be many differences. However there was one thing he was curious about.]
Can I ask what games are like in your world?
no subject
Huh? Games? What kinda games? Like the board game kind or the video game kind? [That's a hard thing to compare. Were they that different from world to world?]
no subject
[He gave a nervous laugh, looking away. He felt awkward even asking it now. Maybe it had not been the best idea after all.]
no subject
[He frowns remembering that incident, but refuses to go into details about exactly what it was he was doing with it. It was pretty embarrassing.]
Got so bad that a Troubleshooter picked up on it and had to bail me out. Which is okay by me. Troubleshooters 'r great. They're so cool.
no subject
[The more he is talking about it, the more he appears to be smiling.]
Though what is a Troubleshooter?

He raises his glass in response.] Here's to a better year filled with less trouble than the one before.
no subject
One 'a these days I'm gonna get us off this rock. One 'a these days.
no subject
Sure, sure. That's the plan, ain't it? You're the Marshal, we're all superpowered, we can do this. [He claps his hands together a few times. Just gotta focus on teamwork, win the game, save the world, am I right?
no subject
Still, he plays it off like it's nothing.]
O-Oh, yeah, totally. I mean, it's just the end of the world. Ain't nothin' I can't handle. Been handlin' it here for over a year now as it is. Piece 'a cake.
no subject
It's a decent attempt at a nod.]
Which is--which is why you and me are gonna work together. Right now. [point] After the party. We're gonna adventurin' and figure aaaall this out. Been a while since I last went on one.
[Sitting around his saloon for months didn't help him overcome his homesickness, but a chance of pace would. He was stronger now than during the invasion, which meant less chances to be grievously injured. Absolutely.]
no subject
Barkeep, if'n you can even find the door to get outta this party once it's over, I'll be right behind ya.
no subject
[He grips his empty glass.] And to prove how well I can control myself, see me hold this glass and this bottle and not drink. Self control!
no subject
It ain't the booze that yer not drinkin' that's the problem, it's all that booze ya already drank.
'Sides. I'm starting to think I ain't drank enough tonight. [Cuz you are blitzed, Barkeep.]

The Space Saloon is meant to have a friendly atmosphere, Marshal.
Now, my home? That might work, and I doubt Ramza's gonna be scared of a head. Heck, better yet, I can sell it and make a fortune!
