Where: The Enterprise.
When: The Night from December 31st to January 1st.
Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.

While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...

To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.

There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

[Nanami was feeling a bit better than she had at Christmas -- enough to sulk that she couldn't afford a new dress, so Hari had to perform a bit of tailoring magic and suggest different accessories.]

[She was going to watch the dancers, if anyone was feeling brave enough. It was a bit like being the only child at a party for adults. Well, she'd just have to talk to more young heroes]

[Kobato had grabbed a plate of food she had no idea what it was before she found a spot sto sit down and start to eat. Taking the first bite she looked around to see who else was there before giving a smile.]

[Nanami tried to pass this off as coolness, rather than a bad mood.]

It would be nice if there were more people our age.

[Hanato might be a bit older than her, but still in the 'school age' bracket]

Why? [She looked a little puzzled, would she really want someone that was of school age to go though this. She wanted to help so that they wouldn't have to.]

I wouldn't want that myself.

Well, I wouldn't want it if I wasn't here, but I don't want to be the only girl having to deal with this stuff.

... but I wouldn't want anyone younger than me here. That's just cruel. Or some of my classmates.

[Miki would probably do something stupid out of childish idealism. For that matter, Tenjou-san probably would do something stupid, and Tenjou-san was a year older than her.]

I agree... Anyone younger than ourselves would be awfully cruel to say the least because kids shouldn't be involved...

[She didn't know that many people really who were very young.]

They shouldn't have to worry about dying or the world being destroyed or anything. The fact there are kids in this world is bad enough.

[She paused quietly, looking down for a brief moment. It was pretty bad that there were kids in this world and they were facing something terrible and that made her upset about it.]

Yes... They have been through a lot and that is just the natives. I don't want to think about what might happen after and... I guess what I am trying to say is... we both agree and hope kids don't arrive here... But we can never be sure if that really will happen or not.

But until then we'll be doing our best.

And if any kids do show up, we can find things for them to do that aren't the front lines. I don't even want to be fighting there.

[She paused, now she really was thinking things over.]

You mean like nursery? I know little kids do things like that sometimes.

Or even like... bringing food to working people. So they feel useful, but aren't doing anythign dangerous.

[She nodded.]

Right! People do need to help the people after all. There houses are still not fully rebuilt after all. I guess I can always do that, or try to anyway.

I've been busy with school.

[Nanami isn't sure how useful most of the stuff she's learning will be, but at least her math has improved.]

You go to school here? I didn't know it was a thing.

[Not that she ever had a reason to actually go to school though.]

Yeah. I arrived before we knew what the Calamity was, and I didn't want to fall behind back home.

Now it seems... well, I don't know.

So you arrived around the time I might have as well. I arrived before then as well.

Do you want to continue, or are you thinking about wanting to do something else.

I like pretending I'm normal, but... I don't want to die in the Calamity, so I want to do something.

I don't think anyone would want to die in the Calamity. I know I don't want to. So... I want to help, but I never know how.

Well, what are you good at?

I don't know.

I mean... you went to school, right? What was your favorite subject or club?
