Event || The New Year

Characters: Anyone!
Where: The Enterprise.
When: The Night from December 31st to January 1st.
Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.

While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...

To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.

There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

"... You're right."

He's never been overly fond of much of anything, and that included watching fireworks. But with company to appreciate them, they're much nicer, aren't they? Even if they were works of art that disappeared in merely an instant.

You had to cherish things while they lasted, Minato supposed.

"They're pretty. The ones who crafted them must have done a lot of work."

Terra nodded her head slowly keeping her eyes fixed to the brightly colored lightly. "I love fireworks." She spoke softly, almost wistfully to the wind as they stood together and watched.

As seconds lingered Terra pulled herself from her thoughts and shook her head.

"I'm sorry. I don't think I'm very good company tonight." Her bright blue gaze seemed dimmer than before, if Minato were to notice such things. "I've been feeling a little strange lately. I thought the party might distract me."

Except it hadn't.

"What's bothering you, Terra-san?"

It was part of his being a nurse too, but he was indeed naturally observant. Minato decided to save his words about not being the best person to hang around with in itself, seeing as for now Terra seemed to need a different type of reassurance.

The least he could do was listen. But if he could do more, he would take that opportunity.

Terra shook her head slowly, her fingers pulling at the white shaw that draped across her thin frame. There was too much that she didn’t understand.

“I don’t know.” Her words were quiet while her bright watery eyes cast out over the sky. “Lately I’ve been feeling troubled. Maybe it’s just because it’s been so long.” For her it’s been a year since she woke up here and she still didn’t want to go home.

"... You can talk about it, if you want to."

He doesn't look at her while he says that, not intending to put any pressure. Then Minato spoke further,

"Even if it's things like being confused, or the way to say it isn't clearly lined up in your head. It's okay."

Terra smiled at him though her eyes stayed on the rolling clouds around them. “I guess that’s it. I don’t know how to say it. I just feel nervous and dread but sometimes I’m happy and excited.” She wasn’t explaining this very well.

“When I first woke up here I didn’t want to go home. I still don’t want too… I like it here and I don’t think there is a place for me back in my world. At the same time I want to help save this world and all the others. It’s very conflicting.”

She almost wished she could just go to someone else’s world.

Minato stayed quiet for a while, when he opens his mouth again, his words are articulated slowly and carefully. He wasn't sure how to put this, having not thought as far as what he wants to do by the end of it if he lives--but Terra shouldn't have had to feel guilty for such a thing.

"Ah... well you know, emotions are complicated things." He'd often thought sometimes, people were better off without them, but in his heart he knew that wasn't true. Minato faced the fireworks as well, before going back to watching Terra's expression.

"I don't think that's a bad thing to consider not wanting to go home, either." He nodded. "Isn't 'home' supposed to be where you're happy? That just means there are things that make you happy, here."

Terra wasn't familiar with emotions and she went back and forth between liking them and not. They made things so complicated which wasn't the sort of thing she really enjoyed. Of course she didn't like it when someone else had done her thinking for her either, emotions were at least better than that.

"Then this would be my home." Her voice was soft indicating the world they were in now. After a moment she turned to look towards Minato and meet his gaze. She looked sad. "You and everyone I've met here... it isn't like my world."

She cared about everyone so much and she had no idea what to do with those feelings.
