Where: The Enterprise.
When: The Night from December 31st to January 1st.
Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.

While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...

To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.

There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

Slimming properties were something to be taken seriously. If she dressed up, she would like to look well kept and slimmed down. She wasn't young after all but the younger generation definitely had a

lo to offer. Cloud appeared to be a pretty strong boy with a lot of hard work from his physical appearance. She was able to depict things like that, being a soldier of her time and engaging in battles left and right. However, the thought might be a bit creepy that she was so perceptive from time to time.

"Yes, that is correct. You seem well Cloud," she replied with a light chuckle from her lips. It was quite alright. He remembered her name so that meant he did know her to some extent. That was good. She didn't want to seem like a stranger acting like she knew him.

"I suppose I am. It is as festive as it was at home. I rather miss such an ambiance. What about yourself?"

Crystallis had certainly done a bit more for Cloud than Gaia had up to the point when he arrived. Belly aside he was getting near the physique that Mako enhancement would grant him after a massively traumatic experience and a few years in a tank being experimented on. Nominally, this was a much better situation for him.

In this world he was getting to become a Hero on his own terms.

"It's not so bad. There was someone I was hoping to speak to but I always seem to be missing her. I know she's around and not in Crystal stasis, but..." He sighed and shook his head, "Sometimes I wonder if I'd be better off letting her go. Back home I was a year older than her but here..." He shrugged and gave her a weak smile. "It's complicated...I'm still happy she's here though."

It's good for him to be able to be a Hero in his own right. Selen always respected the choices that other people made for themselves rather than being pushed into something. Though, she tended to attempt to push others into unpleasant situations from time to time but it was always for the better good of things.

"I see, it sounds like your relationship is a little more than just complicated."

She replied listening to his words as he spoke, "I suppose it depends on how much care about the person and if you're willing to follow them until the end of time or let them go in which might be better for both parties. Sometimes you gotta let people go even though you care about them deeply."

The woman replied. IT was though she was speaking from experience but she perked up in a matter of seconds, "It's always good to have someone you care about within arms reach."

Cloud nodded as he listened to Selen. It was one thing to say those things about his situation with Tifa himself, but when he said it he was saying it just for the sake of it. And perhaps to see what the other person said. That Selen offered him back the advice that perhaps he WAS right about the dimness of that future...

He didn't like it, but she wasn't wrong either. "I'm willing to follow her, and she's made it clear she'd follow me, but right now I think we're on different paths...I'm going to have to think about it." Looking down at the ground he flexed his fingers as different thoughts flew through his mind.

"I'm still going to try to protect her though..."

Selen had her own experiences to play off of, so it made sense for her to offer that kind of advice to Cloud. Of course, she won't press her thoughts on him. If he chooses to take her advice, she'd be happy but she wouldn't be unhappy if he chose to do something else altogether. People had the right to make their own choices for whatever reasons they had.

"Perhaps, you should pursue it a bit longer and see where it leads it?" she mused with a small thought on the comment. She nodded her head silently this time to his words. It seemed like he was seriously thinking about his future with someone he cared about.

"That isn't bad-- to protect her."

Cloud flashed a smile, "Yeah. When I went off to join the army I said I'd be a Hero like Sephiroth. She asked me to promise that when I do become a Hero I'd come to her rescue someday. I still want to keep that promise." Even if things were complicated now it was still a fond memory and one that helped to drive him.

"I'll see what happens, I guess. I'm hoping to see her tonight so we can talk about it. About everything."

"How romantic," she mused with her hands clasped together. She knew he was serious but the words were very sincere. It seemed like the two of them had a strong relationship. She earnestly hoped that it will work out forthe both of them.

"I can see why you want to fulfill that promise. It must be tough being in this world, though on all kinds of levels if you know what I mean. Indeed, tonight would be the best night for something like that huh?"

People were amazing beings in their own right.

"Yeah, it has been. And I do want to talk to her tonight. I just have to find her." He craned his neck, looking around at the gathered crowd in a vain attempt to spot her.

"Maybe I can assist in looking out for her? What does she look like?" she chimes softly as he craned his neck, "while we have this dance?" she mused with a chuckle.

It would be a clever way to go and scope out people as well and Selen was no stranger when it came to dancing. She rather enjoyed it and it's also another way to bond with other people. She wondered if Cloud knew how to ballroom dance.

Cloud was so focused on his own wants, on looking for Tifa and trying to settle things with her that it took a moment for him to realize what Selen was offering.

"W-what? Dance? I..." He looked around furitively, not sure what to do about it. The irony of the situation was that even this was fundamentally new to him.

But she knew that he was looking for Tifa and maybe she could help. There was no harm in it. "Sure, I guess. I'm not really sure how though."

He seemed very concentrated, she'd give him that. She waited patiently, still for his answer as he stumbled on his words. She chuckled some at the reaction. She wouldn't mind teaching her friends how to dance. It's quite fun on her part to be honest. She offered a hand to him.

"I can teach you if you aren't too embarrassed by the idea. We can keep an eye out for your friend. Perhaps, then you could offer ha dance of sorts?"

She teasingly chuckled.

"Uh, yeah, that'd be nice." He still felt really awkward, but the suggestion of being taught so he could dance with Tifa put him a bit more at ease. He just hoped that she wouldn't finally see him and then misunderstand. There was enough confusion between them already.

"Certainly," she chimed with a big smile on her face.

She offered him her hand, "Shall we have this dance then, Cloud?"

Selen would do her best to help him learn how to dance. Of course if there were misunderstandings, Selen wouldn't mind explaining their situation as professionally as possible.
