Where: The Enterprise.
When: The Night from December 31st to January 1st.
Summary: A Ball aboard the Enterprise, for well-dressed (mostly) Heroes of Light and their friends who want to dance and (especially) eat for free.
Warning: Nothing.

While the passing from a year to another isn't as big of an event as the Starlight Celebration, it is no reason to pass up an ocasion to celebrate and have fun. There are fireworks in all major cities and various activities to enjoy. Noticeably, there are gatherings of people in Aqures Ixen and Trano Golsaucia in particular, if only to conclude what is one of the most celebrated week in the year, and wish to each other the best possible year to come-- Though most people are worried about what's to come soon. After all, the end might be nigh with the Calamity about to take over the planet...

To celebrate this, the Heroes of Light have all been invited to stay aboard the Enterprise for a particularly prestigious and animated Ball. Indeed, the Enterprise will from Aqures Ixen and go all the way to Mysidia at midnight-- This way, New Year is going to last even longer than normal thanks to the magic of timezones.

There are tables with foods for everyone to eat and of course, music for people to dance together if they so wish. There is also a consequent number of chairs lined up, for all those who refuse to dance or are too awkward to do so.

Oh. [she blinks for a few moments, ears drooping rapidly. On the bright side, she doesn't seem to have overstepped any boundaries. On the other hand, she ought to have noticed something like that, especially when that was the gift she decided to make.

She straightens up herself, giving him an apologetic smile.]

No, I ought to have realised. My apologies. I'd still like to make you something useful. [if… he trusts that would work out, she supposes.]

[There is no hiding disappointment; not with those ears of hers. Sephiroth makes a noticeable effort to at least smile a little down at her.

He shifts the box from one hand to another; inadvertently flashing some white of a fresh bandage around one of his hands, and pocketing the small box into one of the front pockets of his winter coat.]

Who knows, maybe one day I'll get my ears pierced.

[He couldn't resist the slight edge of dry-humor that slips into his tone. At least it makes him smile a little wider, though. K'pandolu might not find it so funny though.]

It's still very thoughtful of you.

[That smile cheers her up a little, and she offers one in return, looking only a little puzzled at his tone.]

I hope not just because of those! Perhaps even the gift of another, hm? [though if asked, she'd doubt that'd be Terra's choice, really.

At that she does mostly relax, though having caught a glimpse of the bandage there's some fresh concern.]

Thank you for saying so. [her expression goes gentler, pleased- she's been sure he's a good person. Her attention drifts to his hand again, and she frowns briefly, ears flicking back.]

What happened there?

[Well, his humor...isn't for everyone.

He's lost for a moment as she tries to mention that he shouldn't just get his ears pierced just to accommodate her gift...not really getting it for a moment before his logic catches up. Sephiroth shakes his head lightly; he doubts it, really.]

Hm? [He hadn't been looking at her when she clocked onto the bandage which occasionally made certain movements of his hand a little more awkward and stiff than they should be. Sephiroth looks from the floor, back up to K'pandolu, blinking almost as if he's surprised.]

Oh. You mean this- [He raises said hand a little, just to bare it from inside of his sleeve enough that she can see that it's essentially around the meat of his hand more than his fingers so much. Soon after he drops his hand back to his side, not wanting to let the cold get to his fingers too much - he does have a leather glove on his opposite hand, after all.]

-I had an accident last week. That's all.

[Less said about that particular knot of tension that imploded, the better.]

[She flashes him a bright smile for a moment, all the same.]

Last week? [she reaches out for a moment, but when he drops his hand she abandons the idea, continuing to look worried instead. Perhaps some gloves would have been more useful.] An accident… [that doesn't seem like him, but she doesn't really have a reason to doubt him.] Is it healing well, at least?

[It's just as well she abandons that idea, it's bad enough how he feels when Terra helps him to re-dress it, the last thing Sephiroth's about to do is wave it in others' faces. Being the beacon of weakness that it was, to him. A stinging reminder that he really should still keep a handle on his own self-control.]

It's fine. It's more to keep it clean and not catching, at this point.

[The joys of white magic, it has been fairly easy to heal up...once the shards of glass had been cleaned out, that is.]

We all learn from our mistakes.

[He finishes with a smile, at least. Hopefully to stop K'pandolu from looking so worried.]

[what would she even have done with his hand, really?

She stays watchful for a few more moments, but with drink in hand and fireworks crackling somewhere in the background it's not that hard for her to start relaxing again.]

That's good to hear.

[and she tilts her head, grin almost playful.]

Of course. Did it become a happy accident, then?

[since, well. someone must have dressed it, after all…]

[He takes that opportunity to take a sip from his own small flute of a wine glass, clasped delicately between the fingers of his right hand - the one that's not injured and is wearing a leather glove.

And almost snorts a dry huff of a chuckle at her last question. There is something almost cute about being asked that by K'pandolu, knowing that she knows well whom he keeps a specific 'eye' on given her acceptance of his mission that had been on the quest board a while back.]

I'm not sure what it is you might be implying. [A tease of a grin lights up his face for a moment.]

It's hard to wrap your own hand up. These things generally require a little...help.
