Have you read any horror novels before?

[Rukia hedges a glance at Flynn. Secretly she hopes he likes them, because if so, there will be no end to the nerdery that will ensue.]

I read one psychological horror novel once which I enjoyed. It was about a dancer and she was pressured so much by societal values and her dancing company that it manifested itself as illusions inside of her mind.

I wouldn't object to reading more, or if you had any recommendations, I'd appreciate them.

[Suddenly Rukia is really excited. Someone else who likes scary books! This is amazing! She dashes off and runs up the stairs, returning a scant few moments later clutching a paperback novel firmly in her fingers as she holds it out for Flynn to take. 'The Dripping Onyx Box' is printed on the cover, with two women clutching at each other as they cower in fear before a shadow holding up the titular object in his hand.]

This one! I could scarcely sleep after I read it, you'd love this book!

[She's chuckling as well. She could get on Yuri's case and Raven's about any number of things. And as young as Ichigo is, she often finds herself trying to mentor him as well, even though he's more than capable.]

Hmm, I've been meaning to try some pork miso soup, but haven't gotten around to it. Would it be all right if you picked up the ingredients for it?

I usually make it with pork, miso, carrots, and tofu. if you have a better recipe, then by all means I'd love to try it out.

Oh, for a celebration? Perhaps we could make it one of those multiple course meals, then! I know how to make a roast, and bake bread. You've got the soup covered. So all we need after that is a salad, and a palette cleanser.

[She's starting to look really excited about this.]

It's my first time making something so grand. I'm looking forward to this.

[Flynn finishes setting the table, all excited about the feast he and Rukia had prepared.]

I think we're ready to call everyone down now, don't you think?

[It looks like a decadent display. A beautiful roast as the centerpiece, a tureen of vegetables and pork swimming in a savory broth, a crisp green salad, fresh bread with a few slices already carved, a strawberry topped cheesecake. There are small bowls with sprigs of grapes, as Rukia wasn't quite sure what a pallet cleanser entailed, but she knows it's generally something related to fruit.]

[But what no one knows is that only some of the dishes will not trigger the throat to start closing in horrified disgust. Everything set on the table looks absolutely beautiful and appetizing. Flynn certainly knows how to make a dish look mouthwatering. Rukia turns toward the stairway and cups a hand to the side of her mouth.]

OI! Dinner's ready, come eat!

[And she slaps Flynn's hand in a triumphant high five. Everyone will be so surprised at the feast they prepared together!]
