Event || Crystallis de Chocobo
Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.
Where: Chocobo Farm
When: The 16th of August.
Summary: One day after having received a letter from Biggs telling them to get a Chocobo, the Heroes of Light's Moogles will show them the way to the Chocobo Farm. There, the old man in charge of the place will explain to them how to capture their own Chocobos. This post is for all Chocobo related activities. Characters can start their own thread and engage in Chocobo activities, help each other, etc.
There will also be a thread for characters to question the Old Man and Moogle in charge of the farm, as well as another one for the Boss Battle against the Chocobo Eater. Please refer to the OOC Post for instructions on how to capture a Chocobo and what can be done with them. The specific content of the rewards will be posted once the event over.
Warning: Boss Battle against a Chocobo Eater.
Old Man & Moogle Questions
BOSS BATTLE: Chocobo Eater
Upon arriving at the Chocobo Farm, the Heroes of Light will be greeted by the old man and his faithful Moogle (who seems to be at least as old as he is, if not more). The Chocobo Farm looks exactly as what one could expect of a farm dedicated to Chocobos: vast areas where Chocobos can run freely, enclosures and stables where both regular and professional racer Chocobos are kept and of course a house where the old man and his Moogle live. East of the farm is a cliff, not a very tall one, but certainly tall enough should one stumble and fall. Chocobos can be seen passing by the area, but they're too far and too fast to be captured.
Noticeably enough, the enclosure is empty. And the old man is quick to explain why: a Chocobo Eater has eaten what little Chocobos hadn't been sold yet! Thankfully, the creature isn't anywhere to be seen, so for the time being the Heroes of Light can hunt Chocobos without having to worry. The Moogle will give each Heroes of Light a Chocobo Lure, along with instructions on how to use it and explanations regarding the different types of Chocobos. Thanks to the Chocobo Lure, Chocobos running in the distance will now approach the characters... Hopefully they will be friendly Chocobos.

Angeal managed to get back on his feet again and dusted off the bits of grass that clung to his armor. It was then, when he had half a mind to start lecturing the bird, that he realized that she just wanted to help out a friend. He stopped just short of where Sephiroth stood and wondered if his presence was even welcomed at all. He didn't feel the need to say anything at the time and simply watched.
Mogington caught up to the sight and offered a kupo nut to Spencer. Apparently, Demeter's gift bore more than the moogle could handle. "Hey, you never told me what her name means, kupo."
Angeal's thoughts were broken and he looked toward his moogle. "It means gift."

Meanwhile, despite the fact that they were in close proximity and it might appear to be rude of him, it was as if Angeal wasn't even there. Although it pained him greatly, to forcibly ignore his once-friend, in Sephiroth's opinion the hiccup over the Mognet had at least revealed that both him and Genesis had no qualms in discussing him, however they might interpret his actions, behind his back. Genesis was surely the perpetrator for even bringing it up, but Angeal had answered. The best way to kill gossip was to destroy that where it might originate from and so therefore Sephiroth would be very careful what -if anything- he might say to Angeal.
Not that he shouldn't have expected anything less from such childhood friends as those two. That was the most bitter part about it; their entire issues could have been avoided if Sephiroth had stayed well away from them in the first place. Yet a larger part of him couldn't get to grips with what it might have been like without them. What was friendship, anyway?
Spencer took the kupo nut graciously when offered from Mogington, though cautious as well considering Sephiroth's mood and held it close to his small body as if unsure if he should accept it or not. He turned his red-bobbled head up to Angeal a moment later when he explained how he had named his chocobo.
"That's a very nice name, Kupo."

"He thinks so too, kupo. She had kupo nuts in her feathers, and that's a friend in my book, kupo." Mogington happily nibbled on his gift from Demeter.
Angeal stayed close but not so close where Sephiroth would find his proximity suffocating. He knew he needed to apologize for what had happened but there were only so many apologies to give without it seeming flat or insincere. This was one of those moments. Instead, he focused on settling the matter not with words but with action. And if it meant his silence, then so be it. He missed his friend even if the other didn't seem willing to acknowledge his presence.
Demeter lowered her head as if she could feel the atmosphere change and became shy instantly with her head ducked under Angeal's arm. She wanted to know that Angeal wasn't upset at her or the silver-haired man close by wasn't upset with seeing her. With a soft stroke of her feathers, she gave a soft kweh and then moved toward Sephiroth to do the same.

"That is a friend to all Kupo, kupo." He agreed, but it seemed for the time being the Kupo nut would be saved for later.
Sephiroth did nothing whatsoever to acknowledge or release the tension between the two of them. He cautiously took a couple more steps towards his fangirl of a chocobo and canted his head down at the area of undergrowth she was picking around in. He wondered if she wanted him to help her, but wasn't even sure what it was she were looking for.
As Demeter came closer, she stopped suddenly still and slowly raised her head back up to look at the larger, white chocobo. Unsure, entirely of this rival for her Hero's attention that had been bold enough to approach them.
"Quarrrrk" She warned, leaving her searching to stride back to where Demeter had only just come into range. Sephiroth looked down and to his side where the larger bird was only inches away from ducking her head around the back of his forearm. He raised his arm up and around where she might make contact, and only then raised his face to Angeal. Had the other SOLDIER made some command to the chocobo to come over to his side for affection? He hadn't heard Angeal say anything, but even so.
Meanwhile, his smaller, yellow chocobo strode more defiantly forwards and flapped her small wings as if to ward Demeter off. This was her Hero, and she wasn't going to let this larger rival take him away from her. She rubbed her head forcefully, but only once, against Sephiroth's arm again as it came back down to rest at his side, which earned both of the birds a stern look from the silver haired warrior.
"What's this all about?" He asked of no one in particular, he wasn't even convinced if his chocobo could understand him that well after all.

Demeter lowered her head to show her submission that she wasn't trying to move in on the other's chosen hero with a series of low clicks and chirps. Demeter blinked as Mogington watched with rapt attention as if at any moment he would miss something important.
Angeal stepped closer and placed his hand gently on Demeter's head. He could feel Sephiroth's stare and knew that he was deliberately being ignored. Perhaps he deserved it and said nothing about it. Once he made it clear to Sephiroth's chocobo that Demeter had already picked her hero, he hoped that the simple action was enough and stepped away to walk up toward the hill.
Mogington was torn between following Angeal or stay to watch the two chocobo with confusion. He wasn't sure what just happened but Angeal's pensive nature as the hero walked by was a heavy clue that he wanted to be alone.
Demeter hadn't made any sudden movements and skulked away to follow Angeal while Mogington remained with Spencer. Something was wrong but the chocobo stopped right next to Mogington as if to silently ask if she should follow.
All Mogington could do was shake his head. "It's okay. He'll be alright. You don't have to worry about him."

Throughout all of this time, Sephiroth delivered only a single flick of his flaring eyes in Angeal's direction. He wasn't one to deliver such brutal silent treatment to a friend, but perhaps he had been too generous to consider Angeal as such still. He blinked shortly after and walked away after the chocobo, crushing all of the things he wanted to say to Angeal as deep into the back of his mind as they would go.

Angeal knew that Sephiroth wasn't going to follow and he never expected it. He had to think and he had to do it alone. His eyes caught sight of something on a distant cliff and he focused on it for a while. It wasn't until he saw what was happening that he ran back over the crest of the hill and grabbed a hold of Demeter's neck to mount himself on her back.
He pulled his Buster Sword from his back and spurred her on. "Let's go."
Mogington was left in shock for a moment and stuffed the rest of the kupo nut into his mouth. "WAIT!" He shouted as he flew off toward Angeal's retreating back and over the hill.
