Event || Crystallis de Chocobo
Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.
Where: Chocobo Farm
When: The 16th of August.
Summary: One day after having received a letter from Biggs telling them to get a Chocobo, the Heroes of Light's Moogles will show them the way to the Chocobo Farm. There, the old man in charge of the place will explain to them how to capture their own Chocobos. This post is for all Chocobo related activities. Characters can start their own thread and engage in Chocobo activities, help each other, etc.
There will also be a thread for characters to question the Old Man and Moogle in charge of the farm, as well as another one for the Boss Battle against the Chocobo Eater. Please refer to the OOC Post for instructions on how to capture a Chocobo and what can be done with them. The specific content of the rewards will be posted once the event over.
Warning: Boss Battle against a Chocobo Eater.
Old Man & Moogle Questions
BOSS BATTLE: Chocobo Eater
Upon arriving at the Chocobo Farm, the Heroes of Light will be greeted by the old man and his faithful Moogle (who seems to be at least as old as he is, if not more). The Chocobo Farm looks exactly as what one could expect of a farm dedicated to Chocobos: vast areas where Chocobos can run freely, enclosures and stables where both regular and professional racer Chocobos are kept and of course a house where the old man and his Moogle live. East of the farm is a cliff, not a very tall one, but certainly tall enough should one stumble and fall. Chocobos can be seen passing by the area, but they're too far and too fast to be captured.
Noticeably enough, the enclosure is empty. And the old man is quick to explain why: a Chocobo Eater has eaten what little Chocobos hadn't been sold yet! Thankfully, the creature isn't anywhere to be seen, so for the time being the Heroes of Light can hunt Chocobos without having to worry. The Moogle will give each Heroes of Light a Chocobo Lure, along with instructions on how to use it and explanations regarding the different types of Chocobos. Thanks to the Chocobo Lure, Chocobos running in the distance will now approach the characters... Hopefully they will be friendly Chocobos.

He let the words stir in his mind for a short while and then smiled with a soft laugh. Of course the chocobo had other things in mind when the knapsack was snagged and Genesis was half dragged.
"Well, Demeter. It looks like we're off on an adventure. We better go save her before she trips." Angeal jogged to catch up to the duo with a confused Mogington close behind.
"Lester, go find some apples." Angeal called out from over his shoulder.
"Right-oh!" Mogington swooped low then high toward the brush to find the needed apples with a loud "Kupo!" in his wake.

But no sooner has she said that that Genesis found just what Banora had dragged her too. A small mound that Banora scraped her claw again and pecked lightly at Genesis' shoulder. She wanted her to dig? She groaned and sighed at once, looking over at Angeal before indulging the tall red bird. At least Banora helped as she unearthed a small chest.
"...are you a treasure magnet?" Genesis peered over at Banora, reaching down to unclip the fasteners and peer into the chest. Monty was the first to react as Genesis stared at it, dumbfounded.
"Yay!! Another toy!" At least it was more his size as he picked it up, it was a chocobo plush, grayed slightly from use but he twirled about with it. Banora seemed rather pleased with herself, puffing her feathers and flapping those tiny wings. "That had better be the last toy I get in this place."

Well, that could have been worse. Angeal stood to the side the see what the fuss was about while Demeter kwehed happily with Banora. Angeal was then pushed by Demeter with her head to nudge him toward Genesis.
"Wh-whoa!" He just about fell on top of her that was stopped short with his body rolling to the side instead to fall behind her. It was then that he noticed the scrape. "You're hurt."

As soon as she said it, it brought back those memories and she looked away. If Angeal's past was anything like her's, the whole thing had started with that day in the training room, even if the outcomes were different.

"I'll be fine. It's just a scrape." It was a sad memory and one that he felt a million times responsible for over the course of the six months that Genesis had suffered.
"Were you...I'll take care of it." He wanted to ask and then retracted.
She might have mentioned her past to him at the fireworks the first night they met, but his mind wasn't able to process what had happened. It was rough just thinking about it.

She didn't need to go into detail about it, he would know what she meant. She wasn't going to explain anything though, he already knew. Instead, she held her arm out, turned over for him to get at the scrape.
"Thank you."
no subject
"You're welcome." Angeal reached for the salve and dabbed the wound. His hands tried to be as gentle as possible without causing her too much pain. He didn't know how else to address the problem that happened respectively in both worlds and it was upsetting that he was part of her degrading as well. It just made the situation feel just that much worse.
He took the gauze that he cut and wrapped it around her arm as he dressed her scrape. His eyes cast down at the grass underneath them. He wanted to say that he was sorry for what had happened but there was that part of him that knew that he didn't do anything wrong. Then there was the other part of him in conflict that said that it was all his fault.
It hurt but it was a comfort at the same time that they had at least some common ground. He slowly stood after her wound was dressed and held his hand to help her to her feet. "Let's go."

Genesis took his hand and got to her feet, groaning softly. Her butt was going to bruise, she rubbed her thigh a bit. "Well, guess I have my first war wound of the day. You know, I don't think I ever told you, but apparently the class I was placed in is called a Monk. I have to fight with my fists."
She looked rather annoyed at that prospect. "It feels strange not being able to carry a weapon."
no subject
He canted his head to the side and leaned back to give her space with a soft chuckle. "You don't seem like the meditating type. How did you acquire it?"
He was no stranger to bruised knuckles and hard hits. If she could manage to do the job that was given, then maybe there was a reason his was picked as well. He knew that he was given Warrior but he hadn't known about the Monk class just yet.
no subject
Considering it offered no offensive abilities whatsoever. She wasn't sure why Monk was chosen for her. She wasn't one to fight with her fists, in fact, she didn't always enjoy close range combat if she could help it. O course, that's when her magic came into place when she needed it.
no subject
They were magic users and the ability was something that Angeal was the weakest in performing. Magic simply didn't stick.

Angeal wasn't about to deny the conversation since it was nice to know where she was coming from to better assist her later on.
no subject
She didn't want to go into detail of some of the harassment she had to endure nor of how painful it truly was to have mako put into her body.
"It was just... different. Different enough, Angeal."

This was now the part where Banora poked her beak against Genesis' backside, causing the woman to jump with a gasp. "Would you knock that off?"
"Kweeeeh..."
"She's hungry, kupo!" Monty said, lugging a bag of apples now on his tiny shoulders. Banora jumped and wiggled at the food.
"Well so am I, and whose fault is that?"
no subject
"You need to eat first. I'll take care of the chocobo problem." He lifted his hand again to pull out two more and handed one to each. "Next time, I'll make sure to have vitamins as well. If they don't get enough, they'll continue to eat more than they should and we don't want them to suffer from crop impact."
no subject
That would be messy. And kind of smelly. Chocobos did have a unique odor about them, after all.
no subject
He knew that keeping chocobos was smelly work and he wasn't about to offend the neighbors, namely Genesis and Sephiroth with the constant odor and the random kwehs at night. Even though he could house one easily, it wasn't a grand idea.
