Event || Crystallis de Chocobo
Characters: All the Heroes of Light participating in the event.
Where: Chocobo Farm
When: The 16th of August.
Summary: One day after having received a letter from Biggs telling them to get a Chocobo, the Heroes of Light's Moogles will show them the way to the Chocobo Farm. There, the old man in charge of the place will explain to them how to capture their own Chocobos. This post is for all Chocobo related activities. Characters can start their own thread and engage in Chocobo activities, help each other, etc.
There will also be a thread for characters to question the Old Man and Moogle in charge of the farm, as well as another one for the Boss Battle against the Chocobo Eater. Please refer to the OOC Post for instructions on how to capture a Chocobo and what can be done with them. The specific content of the rewards will be posted once the event over.
Warning: Boss Battle against a Chocobo Eater.
Old Man & Moogle Questions
BOSS BATTLE: Chocobo Eater
Upon arriving at the Chocobo Farm, the Heroes of Light will be greeted by the old man and his faithful Moogle (who seems to be at least as old as he is, if not more). The Chocobo Farm looks exactly as what one could expect of a farm dedicated to Chocobos: vast areas where Chocobos can run freely, enclosures and stables where both regular and professional racer Chocobos are kept and of course a house where the old man and his Moogle live. East of the farm is a cliff, not a very tall one, but certainly tall enough should one stumble and fall. Chocobos can be seen passing by the area, but they're too far and too fast to be captured.
Noticeably enough, the enclosure is empty. And the old man is quick to explain why: a Chocobo Eater has eaten what little Chocobos hadn't been sold yet! Thankfully, the creature isn't anywhere to be seen, so for the time being the Heroes of Light can hunt Chocobos without having to worry. The Moogle will give each Heroes of Light a Chocobo Lure, along with instructions on how to use it and explanations regarding the different types of Chocobos. Thanks to the Chocobo Lure, Chocobos running in the distance will now approach the characters... Hopefully they will be friendly Chocobos.

[Ran from, sure. But never fought.]
Um, I'm Ib. What's your name?
no subject
Dealing with monsters is more than part of my job, back home.
[He explains, content to leave it at that. Ib's introduction causes him to blink a few times, not quite taken aback but it was seldom that Sephiroth ever had to introduce himself.]
My name is Sephiroth. Nice to meet you, Ib.
no subject
So you were a hero before you came here?
[See? Heroes kill monsters, and if that was his job already then it makes perfect sense to pick someone like him.]
It's nice to meet you too.
no subject
I've been labeled as such, for a long time, yes.
[Heroes do kill monsters, and they win wars too, even if such acts were in themselves monstrous to those on the other side of the fence. Sephiroth himself is well aware of the hypocrisy of the label he was given, how he has been used as the face of Shinra's successes for many years already. Still, it is his job and he is the best at it.]
It takes a lot of work.
[He flashes Ib a small smile and then turns away, leaving Spencer floating nearby to offer a short stubby shrug to Ib by way of an awkward apology. Sephiroth isn't the most social by a long shot and the moogle cannot appear apologetic enough.]
no subject
She's also just impressed with meeting the sort of person that could be considered a 'hero of light' but then he's walking away. After a second, she calls after him.]
Um, wait! Can I ask you something?
no subject
The small pale fluffball darted to the side and increased it's altitude slightly to avoid any further possible collision.
Sephiroth takes a side-step and turns back to look down over his shoulder at the small girl.]
Sure. Ask away.
no subject
Um, I don't really know why I got picked as a hero of light, but.... I do want to help.
What do you think I should do? To get better at this, I mean....
no subject
Did this mean he should perhaps offer more in the way to help the small girl? Sephiroth turns to face her square on once more. Though, for the most part he doesn't understand small children.]
If you work hard, and concentrate, then I see no reason why you can't become just as much of a Hero of Light, as any of us.
Everyone starts somewhere.
[He's never been the best at motivational speaking, not having been the one to train SOLDIER specifically, but general encouragement costs nothing.]
no subject
[Now that she thinks about it, all these great heroes were just kids at one time. Not much different from her. Maybe she can do this. The smile she shows him is bright and determined.]
Thanks! I'll do my best!
[If she works hard enough, at least she won't be a burden. Sometimes a little encouragement is all someone needs.]
no subject
That's all that anyone can ever ask of you.
[Pause. He turns again and then looks down at Spencer who has landed just where he might put his foot next. His small, hardly noticeably ridges of eyebrow are both raised. Sephiroth narrows eyes for a second at the small moogle as if silently communicating something with it, and then offers one last comment over his should down at the small girl.]
I don't mind, to help where you might need it.
[They were, if it were all to be believed, in it together after all. If it wasn't a crazy dream, that is.]
no subject
[Her smile somehow brightens even more. She feels really lucky that she's met such a kind person here.]
And... and if you ever need anything, you can call me, okay? I don't know what I can do, but I'll try!
my apologies for the bad typing errors in the last one!
While not unkind at all, Sephiroth couldn't keep too much of an eye on a small child if he were to have other things that needed his attention. He's not a childminder, he's SOLDIER.]
I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
[He raises a hand in a quick, single wave before finally turning away and striding away from Ib. He's got his own chocobo still to lure out.]
