Player Plot: Sewer Quest Part II

What: Exploring the Aqures Ixen Sewers in search of a hidden room
Where: Aqures Ixen Sewers
When: May 12th-15th

[It’s that time again. The morning of the 12th, the Barkeep collects the Heroes that volunteered to explore the sewers of Aqures Ixen one last time and reviews their supplies at the entrance. Last time was a blind scouting mission, but this time, they’ll surely find something. He can feel it in his bones.
Candles, potions, ethers, whistles, dry food – these things the Barkeep has brought. He has a bag of his own things and leaves some of those supplies for the others to take.
The sun is shines bright as the group prepares to enter the filthy streams that run underground.]

[Rukia starts to smile, pleased at the teamwork exhibited by each of them who had a part in eliminating the threat of the blue and orange turtles. There's no time to congratulate them, however (even though she does try). At Barkeep's shout, her instincts kick in.]

[She disappears in a puff of smoke, only to reappear, back pressed against Ramza's back, sword raised to lock with the prongs of the sai. She holds her ground as best she can, resisting the urge to give in to a fit of coughing. A sword is a poor weapon against a sai, as it appears to be a weapon specifically designed to catch blades, but it should buy Ramza some time to be less stabbed.]

[With Ramza and Rukia at his side, it's time to go in for the kill. Even with the red turtle, the commotion is a helpful distraction against the purple one.]

I gotcha!

[His clone slammed into the red one, single dagger thrusting in an attempt to slip underneath the armor of its shell. He wasn't about to let it hurt Rukia! The purple target was next. As Ramza attacked from the front, Reno likewise disappeared in a cloud of smoke, reappearing behind the hostile creature and attacking its legs.]

[Yuffie blinks as well, disappearing in a puff of purple and coming up next to the red turtle. She slashes at the back of it's legs hoping it'll relent in it's attack against Rukia and Ramza.]

[Not so fast, red turtle. While Yuffie goes for the legs, Sparks aims for the head with an arrow cast with Choco Flame on it. He means business.]

[The red turtle blocks Rukia's attack and with the sword caught in the sai, attempts to throw the black away and disarm her. Unfortunately for it, a three-way attack catches it off-guard. Its unable to run. The arrow and well-aimed knife brings it to its knees.

It collapses, still alive and refusing to admit defeat, but unable to continue fight.

The purple turtle is furious. It attempts to leap backward, only to stumble thanks to Reno's back attack.]

It's time!

[The Barkeep, now up, unleashes his first offensive spell for this fight.]

Thunder!

[It strikes the purple turtle perfectly on target.]

[Three down, one to go! Surrender doesn't seem like an option for any of them, but at least they're not dead. Rukia moves quickly to begin tying up the red turtle, as she's sure the others will make quick work of the purple one.]

[Like her clone, who snaps her whip and tries to coil it around the last turtle's legs to bring it down.]

[It was a classic -- one person kneels, the other person pushes. Target goes down. Reno clambered up over the felled beast, breathing ragged, to hold his second dagger to its throat.]

Stay. Down.

Does this mean we won?

[If the last turtle is down, Yuffie counts that as a win.]

[The purple turtle is no match for all these heroes ganging up on it. Even if it was the smartest of the four, it couldn't fend off magic, whips and daggers all at once.

The final turtle dies; the guardians of the sewers have been defeated.]

Guess so.
