[The lab seems to be a mixture of Aqurean, Heran and Ancient technology and is designed identically to Palitutu's old room in the Temple of Fire. There are several points of interest to be investigated...]

Of course.

[She moves to the screen to Ales' left and begins typing away. A similar string of code flashes by the screen. Since she herself only opened this one particular program, it could in theory be easier to notice something.]

[Jade waits for them to do their magic, watching the screens over their shoulders. True to their word, Ales and Lucrecia do get a line of code to pop up, displaying the name of a program running in the background:

"rifopen030816.exe"

Oh.]

...Well, well.

[Ales's eyes are quick to catch that line. His eyes narrow.]

So. There's her reason for keeping the computers on.

[The string of numbers much have a meaning, and the first thing that pops into his head is a date. Third day of the eighth month of this year.]

That's the day she's meeting us.

[Lucrecia isn't far behind on that detail, either. In fact, she's already opening a diagnostics tool in another window.]

The question I have is... where?

[That much was obvious, however she couldn't help but notice the destinations.]

[He turns to face the screen again and reads the lines of code over and over again. Activate + 10? Does that speed up the process or slow it down?]

Could this be within the planet?

[There is a lot of things to think about so far from being down here. The purpose of various photos displayed, Magitek armor and potential WEAPON that he feels it's much too late to do anything constructive with.

Ales calling out like that is sure enough to capture a drifting attention and quickly Sephiroth approaches the computer terminals. He's not a programmer, not at all, but it's less than a skim of the words in the code that causes a skip of his breath]

These could be places within the Rift -like the garden a few of us went before-

[Ales's call most definitely had Vincent's attention as he strode over. Programmer was one of the jobs he had on stand-by, but even without it active he could understand enough as he skimmed over what the others had found.]

"In normal coding, the port would be the location the program is run-out from. The destination, but since there is a specified destination..."

[Skimming the text again, before pointing over Lucrecia's shoulder.]

What's the rest of the code around that part? Which program is this a part of?

[Obvious questions, and perhaps meaningless, but better to rule them out entirely than miss something important.]

[Well, this got slightly awkward. Putting aside her personal feelings for the moment, Lucrecia focused on the questions at hand.]

...With names like these, I wouldn't be surprised if they are locations within the Rift.

[Shifting her weight, she briefly glanced between Vincent and Ales before continuing.]

I thought the same, but perhaps another way to look at it is that the port is a gateway to another location.

[What 0.5 and 1 meant, she didn't know. However, she will look at the coding around the part highlighted for other clues as she answers the second question.]

This is "rifopen030816.exe"--or rather, "rift open the third of the eighth month this year." The same day as Palitutu is meeting with us, as the one beside me pointed out.

[...She almost feels bad about not knowing Ales's name, but the rush of a discovery and realization of what this could mean for their near futures is not something to be overwhelmed so easily.]

[He's not offended that Lucrecia never heard his name; most of the residents of his world call him by his nickname. It's not an important issue.]

She wrote a backup plan in case we shut down Ultima. It might delay this rift, but it will open eventually. [Why? What's the sense in destroying the world? Is she stupid?]

Can you access the editing program? We might be able to shut this down.

[Sephiroth doesn't dare to lean in closer to the screen in order to see it clearer. He doesn't need glasses and can read it perfectly well from being stood just behind Lucrecia's seat. Totally doesn't want to make this awkward when there is a puzzle to be riddled out-]

Ultima on, or Ultima off. Seems like the option is one variable or the other.

[He turns his head, to incline a little more towards the woman in the chair.]
