Summary: Thanks to the Heroes who explored the sewers, a secret area under Palitutu's laboratory was discovered and is now accessible through an elevator! What secrets could Palitutu have left behind? Let's go look...

[The lab seems to be a mixture of Aqurean, Heran and Ancient technology and is designed identically to Palitutu's old room in the Temple of Fire. There are several points of interest to be investigated...]

I don't think she has the weapons here. That report said she couldn't find them and assumes that they were destroyed in previous cycles.

[And he brings up Caliburn again.]

But, I'm not risking leaving these doors unopened. We need to make sure she doesn't have them and if she does we bury them permanently.

[That really depends when exactly those reports were written, but Sephiroth's not about to point that out. After all he does agree with having to open the doors.

Presuming they have control panels similar to the magitek doors, he smoothly approaches one of them and peers over the available buttons. Last thing he wants is to have to wedge another large door open with his sword. He's put the weapon away after the hassle at the door which held Cloud's now-claimed armor; not wanting to think about the potential damage to the blade he'll have to get repaired pronto.]

[After some work on the control panels, the Heroes will be able to force the doors open. The containment rooms for Sapphire and Ruby WEAPONs turn out to be empty.

The rooms for Emerald and Jade WEAPONs, on the other hand? Not so empty. Ruined pieces of what were once WEAPONs fill the two rooms.]

[Cloud frowns as he looks into the rooms.]

So there were others....but either they've been destroyed or she's broken them down....for parts?

[Ales' instinct is to jump back at the sight of the WEAPON pieces, but he folds his arms to calm himself. She was collecting them. Why? Why take hold of Ultima, Emerald, and Jade?]

How long was she working on this...?

Unless...

[Sephiroth looks over the remains in one hangar, and then the other before coming back within earshot of the group. His brow deeply furrowed with concern. His thoughts don't sit well at all.]

She's used parts of Emerald and Jade to improve Ultima? Or maybe she was looking for the Ultimate WEAPON all along and just destroyed the others she found so as not to leave behind something that might contend with it...who knows.

[A light shrug, and a respectful nod at Ales.]

If those photographs are anything to go by, it might have been anything up to a lifetime.

[Cloud's face twists at Sephiroth's suggestion. The WEAPON was strong enough the last time they faced it. Could it possibly have been made stronger?]

I hope not...but weren't some of the others warned against unearthing the Diamond WEAPON? And I mean, she only got this one because we gave it to her. Maybe she couldn't do anything with them without us so maybe you're right. Maybe she just wanted to be sure she only had the only one on the board.

[Cloud looks at the ruins and there's a sense of vuja de that washes over him. A feeling that he can't connect to anything but a grim feeling in his gut. A lingering memory of the Other Cloud from the previous cycle maybe?

Something tells him that she didn't merely destroy these two for not being 'strong enough'.]
