Summary: The long-awaited meeting with Palitutu! This post will be updated as things evolve and will lead into the main event for the second Anniversary, Revelations. According to the predictions of a certain Heroes of Light, Ultima WEAPON shall be fought during the meeting, better be prepared. Trying to avoid the meeting is a bad idea, as Palitutu mentioned she will use that very WEAPON to destroy Aqures Ixen if the Heroes feel cowardly.

[Selphie's not certain if her extra training has paid off but it doesn't prevent her from arriving at the Calm Plains. She regarded the armies gathered nervously as the rain poured from the heavens. The usual cheer that the perky brunette would display isn't present.

She's genuinely worried about this entire situation. She knows that Palitutu isn't going to play nice even if Selphie wished she would. The perky brunette didn't have an answer on what to do about the Calamity or how to save Crystallis. She'd pour all her energy into the other options that were being worked on but that was all she could do. Selphie lacked the power and resources to be much more than a ground fighter in all of this.

With her hair pulled back into a ponytail and her bangs plastered against her forehead, Selphie is casting worried glances in every direction. She was sporting light armour for the fight that seemed inevitable as she swallowed the lump forming in her throat.]

Why's it gotta be like this?

[It's bound to happen, looking over Sephiroth and his small gathering of soldiers.]

...would you rather chance the alternative?

[Fact is, that Palitutu could have torn Aqures apart with her WEAPON, without even calling out to the Heroes to come and meet her first. Furthermore the chances are, she wouldn't like whatever answer they'd give to her, she might even mean to test them in combat as opposed to literally ask them how they were going to defeat Narayana. Given the setting that latter seemed most likely.

The question at the front of Sephiroth's mind is more in terms of the timing of all of this rather than the reasons or methods that might come from it.]

We've done enough to the people of this world, already.

[Selphie looked up at the considerably taller man and scoffed at him.]

Would I be out here if I wanted to take that chance?

[His later words have her pondering for a few moments. She can understand that viewpoint even thought she doesn't understand the full context behind the meaning.]

And that doesn't mean that we can't start making amends now. We have to learn from our mistakes in order to overcome them and not make the same ones in the future.

[There's a small smile on her face but her eyes are hopeful.]

I'd rather not fight in another war unless I have to.

[Sorry, Selphie, this seasoned warrior doesn't really bite to being scoffed at. Yet, it's not so much as being high on his own ego, just that he simply doesn't seem to notice.

Sephiroth'll let her rant on about how they can still make amends. How they can still -somehow- make all of the mistakes they've made balance out in the end. Unfortunately Sephiroth is a realist and very much a fighter, so while he knows well about bettering oneself after a mistake too many lives have already been lost, in his opinion.

Arguably there were many things that could have been done differently that might have avoided this particular outcome. Perhaps he really has become too much a Crystillian, too attached to the life he's ended up living in the time since he was brought here. Not that anyone could blame him-]

I'll fight as many wars as it takes.

[A sharp remark.

To end this. For good. To claim the potential for a life of his own that could be laid out in front of him.]

[Terra steps closer to the girl with a warm smile. She passes over a bottle of water hoping that it might help the girl relax.]

Waiting is the hard part.

[Tension mounts around them but Terra doesn't want that to get to them.]

[Selphie can't help it. She's never been called out with the lives of a lot of people that she knows and respects like this and it's more than a little unnerving to the perky brunette. She accepts the bottle of water and takes a long swig from it before tucking the small bottle into a pouch at her hip.]

Waiting is the worst part. Like... there's gotta be a way to resolve this without fighting. I'll do my part if it comes down to taking on a WEAPON but I really hope it doesn't come down to that.
