Summary: The long-awaited meeting with Palitutu! This post will be updated as things evolve and will lead into the main event for the second Anniversary, Revelations. According to the predictions of a certain Heroes of Light, Ultima WEAPON shall be fought during the meeting, better be prepared. Trying to avoid the meeting is a bad idea, as Palitutu mentioned she will use that very WEAPON to destroy Aqures Ixen if the Heroes feel cowardly.

"You've got to be kidding me," Sheena muttered--right before being enclosed in a very tight hug by a very familiar moogle. "Sh-Sheena! Kupo! Where are we? Why's it so dark, kupo?"

Reaching up, the ninja drew Corrine close to her before reaching for her crystal. "It'll be all right, Corrine." Her voice betrayed none of the worry she felt for the others--and for one in particular--as she told him where they were. This was where she had been before she met the moogle who was now trembling against her. The void; a darkness that made a person believe that no light could get through. But the ninja knew better. Moving in place--at least, she thought she was--she remained still, focusing on her crystal and the connection it had to her and Crystallis, when she heard a familiar voice.

"Jack? Is that you?" she called--hopefully in the right direction. And if he was here, then the others must be, too.

"Y'know, I distinctly remember having a terminal case of being dead here."

Well, that's not Jack, but it is one of the "others". Deadpool had finally woken up after taking an Ultima to the face and things were quite dark.

"Alright, so I'm alive and I can move around, so I am thankfully not buried alive. So, where the hell am I and why is it so dark? Wait... maybe I've gone bliiiiiiiiiiined! Oh, that's almost as bad as being mute! Now I can't see my victims!"

...maybe he should have stayed dead.

Before long, as the Heroes were trying to identify each other they would hear a feminine voice. It resounded all around them, as if it was coming from the darkness itself.

"Light..."

The voice was cold and cruel sounding. It would be unfamiliar to all the Heroes of Light, with the exception of Bartz and Yuna. The two of them would find the voice familiar as if they had heard it at least once before-- Though just whom it belonged to would remain a mystery.

"Warriors from the Realm of Light... To the remains of the forsaken dimension..."

The light from the crystal next to the Hero flickered, nearly as if the darkness had sought to attack and extinguish it. After a pause, the voice resounded once more.

"Have you come to relinquish your Light to the Darkness?"

"Actually, no." Sonic responded, crossing his arms in annoyance. "We'd rather get back to Crystallis from... whatever this place is. Mostly because there's a little creep and her friends who refuse to play nice."

Sonic couldn't help but snort a little. "You don't suppose she sent us to where the souls do, do ya, guys?"

"We're in the Interdimensional Rift, no doubt." That was what the computers in Palitutu's lab had implied. But that was about all they could be sure about...

Jade looked around in the darkness for the source of the voice, to no avail. Rosepuff was clinging to him in terror and for once he didn't try to shake her off.

It's not- her. The TARDIS, Rose, both? Livia? The voice that Jack would expect to hear here, this isn't it. And anyway, she wouldn't be asking such a question.

Jack reaches out to grab for his crystal again, as if trying to snatch it away from the force around them. Whatever's here with them, it's not Abbadon or Cyriath, but maybe Jack should treat her just the same way. "Who are you? What's your name?"

"Futile... Crystallis is a world fated to return to the Void, like all others."

The voice's reply to Sonic was short and to the point, as was its reply to Jack's question.

"We are eternal. We oversee the return of all existence to the Void, as it should be."

A sharp, crystalline noise resounded, as if something had tried attacking their crystal once again. The light of the Crystal grew even brighter as a result, but at the same time flickered every other seconds.

Lydia hadn't even been at the battle, but once more she and the others who hadn't fought are there. Betel-Po is clinging to her back, muttering unhappily. "Hello?"

Oh hi there, have one of the Heroes not present at the battle calling out. "Guys? Did...Did you guys beat the Weapon?" The darkness is not as scary as it could be for her--she's more concerned for everyone else. Keeping a tight hold on her own Crystal which is as white and clear to this day as when she was first brought in as a captive.

"They did," came the reply of the one who'd sent messages to those who had stayed behind of the ongoings of the battle she observed. "Palitutu activated something once it was defeated, bringing all of us here."

With that answered, she tried to focus on the other voice-- She heard stories as a child, of they who dwelt in the void. If she hadn't learned much of her month in the world of Crystallis, that would have been enough to keep her on guard. With that knowledge and a very terrified moogle clinging to her arm, however, there was at least some more accurate context.

Faced by unending void, K'pandolu reached out to take Sika into her arms, her ears flattened and tail twitching in agitation. As much as she'd been through, this was unexpected and unpleasant, and only being able to hear the others wasn't alleviating her worries as much as seeing them would have.

State of the Weapon covered, she asked, "Is everyone all right?" She shifted to turn towards where she thought the voice might be coming from. "That's… not what we want, though." She's not ready for everything to end.

Okay, the first voice wasn't who she was expecting, but it at least it confirmed that others had made it here. And as other voices filled the space around her, the ninja grew more relieved. Well, as relieved as someone could be floating in an eternal darkness unable to see five inches before her.

And that strange female voice didn't exactly warm the heart and ease the tension within her.

Its comments, though, are what really threw the ninja and made her take notice. Is it possible? Returning everything to the Void?

"Are you Narayana?" she asked the surrounding darkness, for once hoping she was wrong.

Johnny hadn't gone unconscious, but he comes to in the darkness, the effects of his limit break shut off. It takes him a few moments to catch his breath and recall what had happened. The last thing he remembers is Reno shielding him before running towards the core. He'd have thought he was dead, except Mogrius is there in the darkness with him. The normally level-headed moogle was rattled and just as confused as Johnny was.

"H-Hey, what the hell is going on? Who else is out there?!"

Sparks wasn't about to be bossed around by some invisible jerk.

"Yeah, okay. Says you. Says everyone. But ya know what? We ain't listenin'. Haven't given up yet, don't plan to, no matter how many empty floating voids ya stuff us all into."

"We're not done." The voice of another Hero cut through the darkness, firm in its resolve, as the cadet directed his words at the unknown entity. "If it's a proof you require, we'll give it to you, and fight if we have to."

Although they were all scattered across the void, Ace wanted to believe that he wasn't alone in that thought. He didn't have to reach that far into his memory to recall having heard the exact same words. Just like the Land of Judgement existed solely to break their spirits, this was nothing but another test of their strength.

"State your demand."

"Bah, if I known we were doing this, I would have brought my Lantern," Tazendra said. The Penrosian object was designed to cut through the darkness between worlds and lead people back to safety. It was diminished here, but might have helped.

"Will there be another fight? I do not wish to return to the Void."

“Narayana is a Harbinger of the Void… Would you see it denied?”

If the answer meant anything, then no, whatever this entity was it wasn’t Narayana. But if it words truly meant anything, then it was evident enough it wasn’t benevolent either. But the voice marked a pause as Sparks and Ace spoke out.

“Then answer this. All life is condemned to perish. All existence to disappear. All memories to be forgotten.”

With these words, the flickering grew quicker and more intense, darkness swirling around the Crystals—But not taking them.

“You cannot stop it. What do you hope to accomplish by delaying the unavoidable?”

"I dunno, maybe, like, lettin' people live out their lives in peace? I think the bigger question is why is that so much to ask for."

"After every death, there is another rebirth. Think I know that better than most." But Jack will play along with the timespace being. "Every time a world ends, another begins. It's the nature of Time, it keeps on flowing, no matter what. This same force you think devours all life? Is exactly what creates every new life."

"Every destruction branches off the timestream, every decision creates a new possibility. The fact that so many of us from so many different worlds stand here is proof of that fact."

"But the reason life goes on is that it resists the Void, the Darkness, whatever fancy term you want to call it. Death. And Life always wins."

The Barkeep grasped his robes and held them tightly around him as he floated in the void. Try as he might, he couldn't feel a sense of panic here. Must remind him too much of space.

"What Sparks said. Just 'cause the death of the universe is inevitable ain't reason to get all fatalistic."

Whoever this is must not be fun at parties.

“Live in peace… And yet the Crystals's protection makes you immortal... Life is but a temporary state. Death and nonexistence are permanent, free of suffering and pain. But so be it, if you so want to live..."

The voice grew colder and angrier upon uttering these words, yet somehow still calm and confident.

“Crossing into the forsaken world… This, we shall allow. But hear this, Warriors from the Realm of Light—”

At this point, the darkness swirling around the Crystals attacked them. The attack against the Crystal was violent and all characters would feel a sharp pain as it happened. It failed to destroy the Crystals, yet their light dimmed…

The Heroes of Light are all MORTAL now. Death is now PERMANENT. If they die, they will not come back.
Phoenix Downs are now ineffective. Healing spells’ and items’ effectiveness are all halved.
Life spells will now only work if it’s medically viable for a character to go back to life and only up to three minutes after their deaths.
If their bodies are maimed beyond repair, Life will not work.

“Should you try once more to reach across the realms into this Interdimensional Rift to find Narayana, we shall devour your light and use it to return all to the Void!”

All the Heroes of Light pass out after that. To be continued in Revelations…
