[Cloud shrugs a bit dismissively. He can't quite believe that Palitutu will be so easily swayed by alternate paths. Even this whole prospect of her wanting to talk to them feels to him like something else at work. Trying to buy time? Maybe.]

Probably. But if she really wanted our help she could have told us everything instead of us trying to figure all this out. Unless she knew we'd never work with her in the first place.

[He shifts a bit in his set, trying to stop one leg from falling asleep.]

But the more we find out the less she'll be able to control. That's what you and Mary said Artemicion said, right? That we're all basically too unpredictable for them? I think that's probably what bothers her the most. I don't think she'll join any plan that she doesn't feel she'll have a total hold on the outcome.

I think that she needed to form an opinion first, hence the-[-too easy to use the word 'betrayal'; in Sephiroth's opinion while she did do that, Palitutu did other things that were much, much worse.

She wasn't just a traitor, she's an enemy just as Cloud said.]

-subterfuge beforehand.

[Sephiroth nods up to Cloud, his tail of silver hair bobbing in the movement before he wipes his gloved hand up and over his forehead, through his shorter bangs where they were already soaked with rain water. It's a little strange looking -up- to Cloud, for once.]

I also think that she's more-than notably protective of Garland. Because, of course, we'll have to end his role as the guardian if we're to succeed at all.

[Sephiroth has a point. She's doing everything she's doing for the sake of this world. But all of her actions are leading to more and more death and perpetuating the cycle. And what if it's not holding the line? What if all of this falls apart at some point even if the Heroes didn't do something about Garland?]

Maybe...But I still don't think she's right.
