Cat and Mouse - The Esdham SM4SH Tournament
Characters: Allenby Beardsley
Where: Esdham - The Tournament
When:Summary: Though never opposed to gathering information, she's less interested in that and more interested in treating that Burning Finger of hers in the tournament. Of course, while hanging out with the other fighters...
Warning: Violence.
The "Holding Pens" (aka, locker room?)
Amongst the beefy soldier types, proud warriors, mages, and even other races, there was one girl, who, much to the question of many of the other competitors, was pretty damn small. Small, a bit lanky, and unarmored.
Yet they weren't staring because she was a girl, or because of her lack of armaments, but because of the blinding flurry of punches she threw just to warm up, and the kicks. Switching back and forth while shadow boxing, she had a few fighters worrying while others, probably had too many other concerns to worry about one single girl.
There was also the matter of that pesky little Moogle that needed to be found. She wasn't too interested, personally, in finding them at random on the streets. It didn't often cross her mind, but when it did, she'd poke her way into someone's armor check, preferably when they weren't obviously warming up or meditating... She'd feel terrible if she didn't fight someone at their best, but when she could, she'd try and ask about the Moogle with the Black Hat.
3... 2... 1... SMASH!
Four fighters were let out from four different parts of the arena, and given a simple countdown, to which the audience cried out alongside the announcer.
And right at the start, rather than running for the center, she runs for her opponent to her left, well ready to break a jaw of need be.
Between and before brackets
Allenby made accommodations for herself to stay in the city for the duration of the tournament. But she wasn't going to just stay cooped up in her room between fights. There was also the matter of that pesky little Moogle that needed to be found. She wasn't too interested, personally, in finding them at random on the streets. Heck, she'd better trust word of one of the other fighters than asking someone at random (at least then she could rightfully beat information from someone, say, a bet before the match).
Though perhaps while snacking, or wandering she might pick someone and prod them for information, especially if she might already know, or recognize them.

NPC - Esdham Coliseum
hey, you. [He points at her.] Are you one of the Heroes of Light?
[ At least he's direct in his questions. ]

[ He shook his head. ]
However, I am looking for competent people and you Heroes of Light seem like you can be these.

"So, watcha need?"
no subject
[ A sigh. ]
I'm too old now and I am looking for people to help me get them back, and you Heroes of Light type sound just right for the job.

Though by the sound of it she'd have to pretty much forefit her chances at the tournament... if it took too long.
She looks like she's thinking on it a while, even if the fights were over for the day. "Oh, what the heck, this is more important than one tournament. I can beat up other guys any time. They have this tourney every year right? So let's take care of what you need first. It's entirely more pressing!" Even if she just miiiight be getting in over her head.

[ A pause. ]
You see, I'm thinking of re-opening the Monster Arena, maybe close to Aqures Ixen. If you use a special equipment of mine, the monsters you kill will be imprisoned in crystals so you can bring them back to me. Only problem... Someone stole that equipment from me.
What date his this happening perchance?
"Wow, you're pretty unlucky huh? Well... I live there so it's definitely worth the investment. Helping you I mean... I've got plenty of my life for fighting tournaments. Just a little bitter about the last one I lost I suppose. I don't get a rematch for a while." she rambles.
"Well, who do we get that stuff back from? Some thugs or one of your monsters ate it up?"
Whenever she visits the city-- After the 15th
A Moogle stole it from me! A Moogle with a Black Mage hat, they're pretty rare around these parts if I say so myself.
Re: Whenever she visits the city-- After the 15th
"Wait. My friends are looking for him too! Do you remember the last time you saw him? Like, anything will help. If we catch him, we can get that tool back and...". Shell help him out but...
"How does that tool work exactly?" Already she's scribbling out a note for Carol to scamper off with...

She gives him a reassuring clap of a hand on his shoulder.

When she sees the familiar blue hair she smiles. "Hey! Your getting soft!" She had to poke fun at her, if only because she bothered to sign up for such a thing."
no subject
Ohohohoho, no, you, didn't.
"And when's your match huh? Oh... wait... I don't believe I saw your name on the brackets."
no subject
She really was teasing the match was fun to watch, not that she would say that out loud.

Yuffie smiled to herself as she rocked back and forth of her heels. Standing in one place often bored the young ninja.

"I don't get it."
no subject
"No I didn't. I said I might be better THAN the rest. Clean your ears out kid." she grumps, though she's not but a year older than her herself.
no subject
"Guess I wasn't listening."
no subject
She does mutter she hopes she wins.

Yuffie grinned completely unconcerned by Allenby's tone. At least she was agreeing now.
