Aug 03rd--Defense/back-up for those who stayed in Aquares Ixen [OPEN]
Who: Lydia Deetz
deadlyvu and anyone interested. [Open to all]
Where: Aquares Ixen, near the Crystal of Fire
What: Not every Hero is eager or willing to go to the Calm Plains and show-down. Doesn't mean they want to do their part any less...
When: August 03rd
Warnings: none yet?
While the rain likely wasn't helping those on the Calm Plains, it was only slightly making things harder for those in the city. Most people stayed indoors--which for those Heroes who'd stayed behind meant less likely for civilian casualties. Hopefully.
Lydia had still wanted to do her part, even if she wasn't primarily a fighter. Not that she wouldn't fight if she had to--but self-defense was a different thing than seeking it out. So she'd made up flyers, and Betel-Po had been fluttering with all speed and haste and delivering them to all Heroes by hand. Nanami's moogle had been enlisted to help too, besides spreading word of mouth.
"Meet at the Crystal of Fire at [time]. We might need to be the last line of defense." Was the brief headline, with an explanation below.
Lydia waited near the Crystal, hood to her cloak up. She was ignoring the rain as best she could, and had her rapier and dagger handy, and was hoping others would show up. Betel-Po huddled in his rain-coat, grumbling and trying to not yawn. But he was determined to help see this through too--show Biggs and everyone else who doubted them being Heroes. He knew his companion worked hard!
[Lydia is rocking maxed out Vampire, with a dark cloak covering her. She also has Ghostbuster at 6 months, although that might be less useful.]

If it comes to it, both of you get behind me. I know a lot about fighting.
[He tries to sound stern and a little scary, but it basically boils down to "I'll make sure you're okay."]
Understood?

Lydia huffed a sigh, because honestly? If the Weapon came for them, she really didn't have a lot of hope for their own chances for survival. The best they might do is help buy time for others to escape.]
I don't think it'll be that straightforward. Palitutu isn't bringing an army to that showdown in the plains. She's taking a giant Weapon that can do things like reduce part of the city to rubble.

And if you want to take the lead, Dylas, by all means.
[Ed is still carrying his sword at least, which is actually quite nicely designed. If he has to carry one, he might as well make one for himself that looks cool.]

Of course, that's a nice thing to say, so he'll just bottle that up and not ever say it.]
Someone has to. Apparently, you guys aren't cut out for it. [Wait, that sounds too mean. He needs to rephrase.] Not that it's...your fault or anything. I punch things. A lot. All the time, actually.

I won't turn down help. I'm Lydia, by the way.
[OOC: Dylas is also rocking the Vampire job? Lydia is.]

Not all of us were meant to be fighters, I guess. I was taught how to theatrically throw knives, but never how to swing a punch. Thanks for teaching me the most useful skills, dad. [He huffs.]

[He looks down at Lydia, offering her a nod. At least she isn't giving him a hard time about anything here.]
It's Dylas.
[But then he's back to addressing them both.]
I'd offer to teach you both how to punch the shi...[...] ...crap out of things, but if you don't have the right Job, it probably doesn't mean much.

Anything we can do to help buy time, is likely to be better than nothing though.
[More quietly then...]
It's nice to meet you Dylas, although I wish it were in better circumstances.
