Summary: The Night of the Thirteen Moogles is here at last! Will the undead hordes triumph and bring about the evil reign of King Moggle Mog? Or will the Ghostbusters reiterate their success from last year and definitely put to rest the evil King and his loyal Moogles?

[Leg aim catches Sephiroth's front leg, just as he lands back from his special maneuver, causing him to have to shunt his balance onto the back leg in his stance and somehow attempt to dodge away. In the end, he ends up using Dash again, just to get clear.

It's a shame that at that particular point in time a viable free space was nearer to Akane again. He missed the k-word that Sheena caught and by the time words of warning are yelled there are arms already attempted to be thrown around him. Sephiroth's next move is to bring Masamune up from where it's been resting against the back of his arm since he moved, and sharply jut the pommel-end of the handle to his sword into the bottom part of Akane's face, any connection that he can manage to get; anything to be able to get his knee up to kick her away from him. The knife comes away red and wet, having managed to stab through leather into Sephiroth's side during the struggle.

Not that he's got time to realize or even react much further before all of a sudden there is Ramza-]

Sheena! We need to...stop this.

[At least he's managed to get Masamune around and between himself and bloodthirsty-Ramza before the vampire starts drawing closer, going for the literal jugular; not that it helps with the blade pressed flat between them. He's straining his head up and away from his attacker and those teeth, as much as possible, while trying to shove the supernatural strength there away at the same time. The enhanced strength that his custom job gives seems to be holding it back, barely managing to maintain balance.

Not so much for the exposed flesh at Sephiroth's upper chest and collar-]

This. Is. The. Grossest. Thing. Kaji's disgust rises in between the sharp pain in his arm. But it subsides for a second, right after the Flare went off. He can't even catch his breath, and a part of him wants to just stay down.

The healing washes over him, like a light brush of fingers across his cheek. Stand and fight. She wouldn't want you to die.

Kaji takes a breath in, and pulls himself back to his feet. A second to focus, and he can use his actual most dangerous weapon: his mind. The Flare stole some of Rikku's strength. And that was Zelda's Job.

"Sheena! Use more of Zelda's abilities! More light, more Holy energy!"

Blasting another of his most powerful spells is going to sap Kaji's energy quickly, but he will keep casting until he collapses. Another Flare in the center of everyone, hoping that the spell can sap all of the Undead Heroes of their strength.

( hell! everything was going to hell! as the skirmish happened in front of meredy, her head began to shake, naturally at first, then quickly devolving into some kind of mechanical tick. ) It's all wrong! It's all wrong, KUPO!

( shaking hands lifted to press against the side of her head as made an attempt to keep her head steady, though it continued to turn rhythmically. ) This wasn't supposed to happen! Everyone should have fallen for it, KUPO! The calculations—— the calculations KUPO!...

The calculations, the c a l k u p o...

( acting on it's own, the moogle-shaped puppet advanced again, as it began to repair moving in to back ramza up with an atttack routine. )

[Ramza tears at Sephiroth's flesh wherever he can reach with tooth and nail. His blood tastes powerful, like a fine dark wine sipped from a magicked chalice. He tries to push past the blade between them to reach his neck and slake his thirst...

...until Kaji's cursed white light flares up and burns at his eyes and his skin. He hisses, an ugly rasping sound from vocal chords ravaged by poison. Ramza releases Sephiroth and shoves him backwards so he can turn toward the new threat, the rat that dared speak that name. The light dispells his unnatural speed and strength, but the rage is still there as Ramza hurls himself at Kaji.]

[Akane stumbles back with a feminine squeak of pain (kupo!!), clapping her hand over her chin and bloodied lip. Her violet eyes are wide with shock, as if she were emotionally devastated by this great and terrible betrayal.]

Y...you hit me...why...? What did I do...?!

[She only tried to spill his intestines! The hand holding the knife is trembling violently. Ramza is all over Sephiroth, so that leaves her free to rush to Meredy. She puts a steady arm around her shoulders.]

Are you all right, kupo? We need to go make more reinforcements!

[Ooof.

Crunch.

Sephiroth takes three steps back when he's shoved before his balance fails and he toppled backwards, onto the proton pack, on his back. The momentum from his own strength that had been holding Ramza back, as opposed to the supernatural strength of the other which had been stripped by the light magic.

Breath is knocked from him as the fall stuns, but at least the weighty ghost-buster equipment he's got on prevents his head from smacking on the ground which could have been a lot worse. With two of three thick gashes across the top-front of his torso where Ramza had been able to get, getting knocked out while bleeding would have been him finished for sure.

Masamune was knocked out of his grasp too but that's not Sephiroth's immediate concern. Blinking back dots he feels for the gun to the particle thrower and grunts as he pulls it free, twisting himself -trying to focus on a target. That puppet had to have something to do with all this surely-]

[A messy eater, blood smears down mouth and chin. A gulp sound; savoring a clump of flesh that had been torn free. As darkness returns, so does the girl. Moving back towards the loud one. Awkward, mismatched steps. Favoring the side Sheena's thrower scorched.

At this second flash, blisters appear on the small bit of exposed skin on the girl's face. Ramza passes in his physical attack, while she still approaches intending to bite, she casts absorb stats towards this irritating one. An eye for an eye - he drained her of strength, so the vampire would try to psychically drain and absorb his strength and magic.]

Not good. As Kaji gets Ramza's attention, as well. "Are you kidding-"

That's all Kaji gets out before he drops again to Ramza's assault, and, thanks, Rikku, the draining of his two top stats. Teeth bite deep into his arm, and Kaji screams at the top of his lungs. The spell he was starting to conjure fizzles.

No. Not here. Turn the pain into focus. Just- like- Asuka. He shoves his arm towards Ramza, his own blood drains down into his face, blinding him, and he summons up his strength for one last Flare. The spell goes wild, he has no idea where it impacts as he waits for what's left of Rikku to join in the attack.

[ Seeing what Sephiroth is doing she nods. ]

Do it!

[ Sheena hits Kaji with another dose of Zelda's Gift before once more hefting her thrower. She's gotta make a choice... ]

Kaji! Watch out!

[ Aiming at Ramza, she hits the button, sending the beam towards his chest. ]

[From within Sephiroth's half-winded state Sheena's yelling seems somewhat dull as he fires the trigger of the Particle Thrower at the puppet as it crosses his tilted line of sight. The scarlet mess of the front of his torso is taking a lot to be ignored; a red haze just around the bottom side of everything.

The brightness of the ray causes him to squint a little and he feels the pack on his back whir to life between him and the floor but his focus is all on that target; waiting to see the reaction before starting to shuffle himself back to his feet.]

( it's chaos. utter chaos, and the force controlling meredy seemed to be breaking down. she muttered the same repeated calculations under her breath, holding her head as it ticked from side to side like a broken cog, shielding herself from the flares and holy magic that was erupting all around.

the puppet, on the other hand... the particle blast hit it head on, as it was lifted into the air. it's arms and legs jerked in every direction, twisting and contorting under the attack... as it fell lifelessly to the ground.

there was no soul in the puppet. it had clearly moved on already, inside of meredy since the beginning of this encounter!

and, back on her feet, meredy began to laugh. it was quiet at first, becoming louder and louder... ) Haha... Hahaha, kupo! Hahaha! AH HAHAHAHA! Did you really— click— really think that would stop me? Ku-popo! KUPO! Hahahaha!

[Ramza hisses as the searing light of Kaji's flare burns into him. The blast from Sheena's weapon has him staggering back, hunching over to try to protect himself from the energy. He drops to one knee, shuddering in pain.]

[After her ally falls to his knees from the attacks, Rikku has finished closing in.

Those goggles were pulled down sometime in the mayhem, revealing a young, innocent face, with spiral pupils. The whites of the left eye are red, as though the Al Bhed suffered a head trauma. It starts feeding the false impression all that blood on her chin, it must be hers...she's been hurt.

Those eyes bore into Kaji, continuing to attempt to be-spell him, trying to put him under her Charm]

[ Oh, but Sheena isn't finished yet. As much as shooting Rikku in the back disagrees with her, Sheena's got to get her off Kaji. Moving to where her shot will go across Kaji, she lifts her thrower.

Using Power Surge, her proton pack becomes five times stronger, and Sheena once again takes aim at Rikku.

And asking forgiveness, presses the trigger. ]

[If Charm had been cast successfully, Kaji would have an overwhelming need to protect Rikku. Still above him now, she waited for an ally, or a bite.

With even a slight warning from him, the vampire could outmaneuver the beam. Though under her thrall he'd easily put himself in the path of the beam before her - given the chance.

Otherwise, it would hit her square on.]

[Damn. Guess the puppet, even if it might well have been the source, wasn't so much anymore. Sephiroth shuffles himself back up to his feet, ignoring the stinging sensation the frigid air has on the opened skin at the front of his chest as much as he's able to as he focuses again on Meredy.

With Ramza and Rikku both otherwise engaged, Sephiroth glances around for Akane, wanting to have the would-be assassin who had already stabbed him in sights before he might attempt anything else.

If Sephiroth were going to attack again, he'd best make it worth it. Blood loss could only be ignored for so long, even if curative magic had taken the edge off.]

Apparently not...[Keeping the gun to his photon pack in close to his waist, training it on Meredy, Sephiroth side steps to get within range of his sword and the crouches smoothly to retrieve it. He's expecting for something else to come at him, but that doesn't change the mission; taking out whatever the moogle-possessed Meredy has been working on is still a priority.]
