Characters: The Moogle with the Black Mage hat, you.
Where: Cactuar Island (first prompt), Castle of Aqures Ixen (second prompt).
When: 28th of November (first prompt), any day during December (second prompt)
Summary: In the first prompt, the Heroes of Light who participated in the event finally localized the Moogle with the Black Mage hat and set out to capture him. In the second prompt, the Moogle is prisoner in a cell and can be interrogated. Please refer to the OOC Post for more details.

Upon reaching this island, the Heroes of Light would find out that it was exactly the way it was depicted in books: a desert, as far as the eye could see. However, no Cactuars in sight, not yet at the very least. And it was doubtlessly a good thing considering how deadly these monsters were. And in a stark contrast with Aqures Ixen: it was hot, hot enough to be dehydrated within a matter of hour.

In the distance however, they could see some sort of tent, as if someone was living there...

The Castle of Aqures Ixen was where most administrative and legal tasks were taken care of, but it was also where certain prisoners were kept: the particularly dangerous or important ones in particular. Following his capture back in Cactuar Island, the Moogle with the Black Mage hat could now be found in the castle of Aqures Ixen, most specifically in the dungeons where he was kept in a cell, since there was really nothing else that could be done with him at the moment.

While the Castle was beautiful and filled with paintings and sculpture depicting the legends, the dungeons were… Well, much less welcoming to say the least. They were kept in a proper and healthy state of course, but they also were dark and creepy enough that no one sane would want to spend the night there. As a matter of fact, the Moogle was very agitated in his cell, desperately trying to find a way out, at least in the early days. Past the 10th of December, he'd calm down.

[ OOC Note: Heroes of Light can come whenever they want to visit the Moogle with the Black Mage hat now that he has been captured, and interrogate him. However, they might not get the answers they want: they can ask questions, but the Moogle has no obligation to reply. Prisoners have rights in Aqures Ixen, and there will be a NPC present during the interrogation threads to ensure these rights are respected, so no mistreating the prisoner if he doesn't reply in a pleasant manner.

Please put in the title of your reply the date (when your character visits the Moogle to interrogate him) and the NPC you'd rather have present to keep an eye on the Moogle (a random guard/soldier, Wedge, Jessie, Biggs or Artemicion). ]

Allenby stepped off the ship and scanned out, trying to spot anything that wasn't mile and miles of sand. What a boring landscape...

"Well well, looks like we were right after all. That's such a relief." she huffs, pointing out in the direction of the Moogle's tent.

"Shouldn't we be quiet so we can sneak up on him? or go around behind him?" Not that they could see him yet but there was enough of them that they should be able to fan out and surround the camp.

Yuna could only assume that he was very dangerous.

The state of the dungeon did nothing to deter the young seeress from going to see him. She had to know but she wasn't sure if she would even find the answers that she sought here. She walked to the dungeon with Hibiscus flying silently behind her. It was going to be a gloomy meeting at best but the little moogle didn't want her to come alone and Yeul wasn't going to wait for someone to come with her.

She stopped at his cell's edge and watched him as he fluttered about hopelessly.

"Were you the one who brought our powers back?" Yeul didn't waste time.

Cloud glanced over at Yuna, "There's really no cover for us to use, so if he saw our boat arrive he knows we're here. On the other hand we don't know what he can do, so it's probably best if we fan out."

Cloud and Yuna were of the same mind here. He just hoped it was still hiding out. If it wasn't here then he had no clue what they would do. At least the moogle had nowhere to hide if he tried to flee.

Allenby wanted to follow up on something she'd started back in early November. She felt bad it took so long but, business is business, as is doing jobs around the city after helping bring him in.

"Alrighty mister, first, I want to know why you stole that artifact thing to capture monsters." she says folding her arms and scowling at the Moogle. "And then, give it back. I'm going to return it to the person you stole it from." She'd punch the bars or threaten him but what good would THAT do?

(Allenby will likely need someone with a face with her. Perhaps Jessie or Wedge.

The past couple of weeks, Ales had been set on smithing as many shields as he could out of his materials be bought (and stole) to hand out the next time the heroes were called on. He packed several of them on the boat, letting anyone take one if they needed it, and took whichever one was left.

The others were right. "Surrounding the camp is the best idea. Just be sure not to stray too far from each other--my teammates suffered at the Magitek facility because we were separated." He didn't want a repeat of that.

He'd asked Cloud to let him know should they have pinned down a location and so there was Sephiroth, as ever true to his word and intention.

He'd brought water aplenty in a large backpack-type bag that he had managed to acquire by chance in Aqures, in preparation for his admission into the Esdham military. The last thing any one of them needed was to get dehydrated; he'd had quite enough of that in the summer months and the heat in this part of the World was a lot more arid than that.

He too took a long moment scoping out the tent in the distance with narrowed eyes and the tight braid of his hair drawn forwards over a shoulder rustled some in the desert breeze along with the bangs which were getting longer on either side of his face. He took a small sip from an open water bottle and would offer it to anyone nearby who might want some.

"Those were Heran spies," He eventually answered Ales, matter-of-factly. "And Magitek-technology turned on us. Our mark, for all appearances, is only a Moogle this time."

But he knew as well as any of them, this Moogle may well have some magical skills that other moogles did not. For the most part, Sephiroth agreed with the idea of surrounding the tent.

In the meantime, the tent didn't move-- if the Moogle with the Black Mage hat was there, he didn't show it. Maybe he was sleeping, as was usual for people living in a desert to sleep during daytime. Maybe he was already gone. Or maybe he had spotted them.

From this distance, this was impossible to say.

The Moogle stopped his futile attempts at escaping the second Yeul came in and listened as she spoke. He very slowly flied toward her and stopped right before the bars separating them, and the nodded to her before replying.

"... Yes, Kupo."

Wedge was silently waiting as Alenby spoke to the Moogle, who took some time to reply, before shaking his head.

"... I stole it to control the Cactuars on the island. There are too many of them and I couldn't fight them on my own." The Moogle replied before going silent.

"So was it true then? The vision I saw." Her voice and eyes were steady though she couldn't help but feel nervous at what his answer might be.

The vision she saw couldn't have been true but then he couldn't have changed her powers. If he was that strong why would he remain in this cage?

"Okay, that makes sense. But don't you think you could've had a touch of decency and asked to borrow it. But I guess we wouldn't be here at all if you were any kind of decent person." she mocks. She's not deliberately insulting him but that's what spilled from her lips.

"Anyway, with that aside, I'd like to return it to the man you stole it from. It won't be doing you any good in here." she says, holding her hand out.

"Well, okay, I like that. But maybe instead of just fanning out, like, three groups coming from different sides." she suggests, despite how itchy she is to get out there.

"He might not have a ton of magic but... he's probably got some monsters to help him out. Either way we've got to be careful until we can pin him down."

Allenby is more than ready for the call to move, and will follow the plan to the T... just a little faster!

Yuna took a deep breath looking around. "It is probably better if we are quick. There isn't much cover and I'm sure he can see us. We can split up but we should go."

With that she took a step forward and headed towards the tent, hoping the others would follow suit and split up accordingly. She hoped that it would be a quick chase if a chase does occur. She was keeping her mind on the task at hand more than anything else though she couldn't help but notice everyone here.

"I don't know, Kupo." A pause. "I only did what she told me to do and your powers came back. I don't know how it actually worked."

He went silent after that.

"I don't have it any more, Kupo." He pointed Wedge "They took everything I had."

To which Wedge replied with a nod, "Yeah, we're currently inspecting his belongings to see if we can find anything."

"Who told you and what did they tell you do?" She took a step forward at his words. He might not know the answer that she was looking for but someone did and she wanted to know who.

Yeul was young and most of what she knew about the world wasn't from first hand experiences. Even so she was trying her best to understand alone and without turning to Caius for help like she often did.

Then her business with the moogle is concluded. She'll leave the more vital questions to the more tactful and strategic.

"Well... I know whom it belongs to. It was a bracelet that was meant for capturing monsters. If you don't mind, I'd like to recover that and return it to it's rightful owner as soon as possible...

Uhm, sir.", a nice, delayed formal address to the man on guard. "We are here to help the people as well, aren't we?" She plays the only card she has to hopefully expedite it's recovery, even if it is evidence to the Moogle's actions.

Given the desert, his heavy armor wouldn't have been a very good idea, so while he still had his gunblade at his hip Cloud had opted to use some of the mage gear he still had. It would be less defense, but better than having to clear out all the sand later.

Looking around the group he did some quick calculations. He'd go with Yuna. Allenby could cover Ales. And of course Sephiroth could handle his end of it himself. It didn't matter that they weren't the same as they were back home, he had faith in his childhood hero. Giving a few finger gestures he tried to quickly and silently suggest the arrangement before following after Yuna.

Ales had no practice in fighting with a group, but he understood Cloud's orders. He ran towards one side as quietly as he could, though he stopped at one point to check on where the others were going.

Wedge nodded.

"We are, but it's important evidence that is still under examination. We'll forward it to you once we'll be done with it"

The moogle remained silent and flied to the back of his cell It did look as though he did know the answers to her question, but it also did look as though he had no intent to actually reply

"Will you not tell me anything? Even caged like this?" Her tone still hasn't changed, keeping the same monotone resonance. Yeul wasn't surprised that he didn't want to talk but even not talking meant something. She knew a little bit about what has been going on before she woke up here but she felt like she was missing something.

She didn't even care if he didn't give her a name, she just wanted to know what it was that he did to her. Something that means that the vision she saw wasn't true. She knew that the future could change and they had the power to shift its outcome but it was as if someone wanted the world to end here.
