Let's Play: Building a robot very very slowly (pt 2?)

Characters: MarKus Haley and Ales Mansay
Where: Magitek Research Facility
When: December 3rd
Summary: MarKus is assigned a task to dismantle some of the mechanical guards there.  He brings along another tech-head for the adventure

Things were nothing but looking up for the mechanic. Business was thriving, but he's learned that a different 'job' would help him get something to help in the long run. And in hi request to get a new job assignment, he's gotten an amazing task. 

Quickly MarKus wrote to Ales about it; he had a change to dismantle the mecha at the Magitek Facility.  The job required he bring stuff back but, the morale of the story was, well, robots, parts, and crystals. 

With his buddy in tow, MarKus begins his job!

"When I made the TechnicaII, it took... a team of ten to get everything assembled. But we also had cranes and lifts meant just for this kind of stuff." he explains.

"And mine was in the middle range of stuff. There were smaller machines that you could ride in, then stuff that was just, mechanical armor that fit right around you."

The hydraulics were taking a while to remove safely.

"It's certainly more impressive than what I've built! Biggest machines I made were for manufacturing or for housing!"

He climbed up the robot and tossed a piston, wires and tubing still attached. "Catch. There's more I need to disconnect."

"Well I intend for us to start small but eventually I want a full-sized Mobile Suit for us to use, yanno, in case shit happens." he explains.

Easily MarKus catches it and stows it away in the fake bottom. "But we gotta figure out that damned Crystal problem. But hey, I'm working on it, and I'm sure I can bribe a few more thieves to get in on the hunt eventually."

Ales goes back to disconnecting the wiring. If all goes well, he might have enough to rebuild one of his mechas.

"Good work, then. Once we figure out how to use Crystal energy, then I can start working on redesigning my inventions."

"I think we just need to first figure out how to... yeah... That." he says realizing he's about to say the same damn thing.

"Hopefully we can somehow reverse-engineer this guy's power source." he says looking up at Ales, remembering how he used to climb over machines too.

Ales pokes out his hands to toss a few more pieces over. "That won't be too difficult. I've done a bit of studying of other civilization's technology, so this'll be no sweat!"

His confidence surges more and more as he successfully removes robot parts. "I've moving onto the control mechanism! Got anything soft we can store this in?"

"Uuuh, shit. No..." he admits. "I didn't even think of that! I guess..." he sighs and takes his bandanna off. "I've got this but really I don't have anything else."

Ales shook his head. "That's hardly large enough to carry delicate instruments. Don't they carry rags in this place?"

He goes back to work on the control mechanism.

"Well, are you going to be fine by yourself? I don't want this thing to fall out from under you."

Otherwise he'd go look for something... Maybe some tapestry or some left-behind coat... or rags, sure.

"Nah, I'll be fine. I've built mechas just as complex as these; taking them apart will be easy!" And while there's no one to toss parts to, he can always put them in a pile and put them away later.
